The foam inside has holes cut out in strategic locations making it much more compressible and lighter, without sacrificing the self inflation ability. 3.8cm thickness is comfortable enough for day to day use. The SIM Lite 3.8 will inflate most of the way itself thanks to the foam filling, but may need to be topped up depending on your preference. This can be done using a mini pump.
