Great item - exactly what my partner wanted. Facewest staff were super helpful engraving the item and ensuring it got sent in time for Christmas. Thanks.
This was a Christmas present for my Son. He absolutely loves it. It was ordered close to Christmas and delivered on time with no hassles.
I already own a 2019 jacket. This is no different - it’s seriously light, well manufactured and feels luxurious to the touch. After rain soaking it puffs back up again no problem, and it is fine with a t shirt underneath down at 0 degrees. Nb slightly boxy feeling in the midriff but when measured against other “slimmer” insulated jackets you are only looking at 1.5 - 2 inches more material. Warms up very quickly. NB Facewest service - superb!
Absolute solid shoe. Perfect for mountain terrain. The fit is snug around the foot with a little wiggle room in the toe box.. not a lot but enough. These shoes just work. Not waterproof but still keep you’re feet a lot dryer then Most and super grippy. They have a stabiliser system that also helps on tough terrain.
I have used the classic 1000 bag in freezing conditions down to minus -4.6 and it has kept me warm wearing just base layers. The quality of the materials used is excellent and i am extremely pleased with the performance of the bag so far. The materials are hard wearing and everything just works well, there is nothing that feels inadequate to any part of the bag no real weak points that i can find . It truly has kept me warm and comfortable on some extremely cold nights up in the mountains. There is just enough room not to feel too enclosed and tight meaning i can move to get into a comfortable sleeping position yet still maintains the mummy style to maximise heat retention without any cold spots. The chords cinch well and provide excellent adjustment options to stop any warmth from escaping and letting the cold into the bag. It packs down well and is fairly lightweight too. Overall this is a brilliant bag and i am extremely pleased that i purchased this for my use, many more years of comfortable good nights sleeps to be had for sure. I Would highly recommend this bag for winter camping. I have featured the use of this bag in a few of my youtube videos, search for 'resident outdoors' if you want to see this bag in use in real life freezing conditions.
Excellent product at a good price and excellent service.
I bought these for my 5 and 7 year old granddaughters who tried them on immediately they received them. They were able to do this themselves easily and were very pleased with them. The order was processed and delivered impressively quickly especially as this was just before Christmas.
These are great trousers, I'm 6ft 2, 32 waist and medium is perfect, I thought they may be a bit short but work well with boots on. The fit is slim but plenty of stretch and really comfy. I tried ME Mission pants before and they were too baggy for me. These are nice and warm but breathe well too. Great quick service from Facewest just before Christmas.
This was a great price with a free sharpening stone and engraving included. It arrived very quickly and my son was delighted with it. Very satisfied with this purchase.
Order and delivery very smooth. Would buy from them again.
Great colour, good fit and quality.
Bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift and he has pretty much lived in it since. It’s been a cold week so I’m pretty sure it’s keeping him warm enough. Fits nicely, lovely quality. Customer service was great and delivery was in good time.
Very cosy and waterproof coat. Great quality and durability.
Great service .prompt delivery
Super light and waterproof. Material is not as soft as some jackets and a little loud... especially with hood up but does what’s it designed for.. I wear a medium in every other brand, including rab t-shirts and tops but in this jacket I’m a Small... the medium was too baggy.. its slim fitting.
Excellent service, quick and efficient just before Christmas. Bought for my husband as a Christmas gift and he was delighted. Thank you.
Excellent straps. Good value compared to others. Used mainly for bike related fixing.
This was a present for my partner who works out in the cold. After trying most products he is always sceptical. However he loves this item and the hat. I'm really pleased with my purchases and would recommend this brand to everyone.
Really nice top . Great service and excellent fast delivery 👌
My son is delighted with these pants , fast delivery and txt to let me know when they will arrive and who is delivering them !.. will definitely buy more from you 👌
The hat is aesthetically pleasing and very well insulated. Going to be a great investment for the winter ahead.
Very good service, very good design.
Very happy with it. I have had one long walk in it so far. It worked really well as a warm but very light mid-layer, with a merino wool base below it and my hard shell jacket on top. Really pleased.
Excellent quality coat fast delivery excellent service
Simple effective at securing skis/poles etc. V strong and tough straps with some stretch to good loads effectively. 🙂
I bought these to replace a pair of Scarpa mescalito that are being resoled. First impressions; very similar last and fitted exactly the same, albeit slightly tight in a good way and actually felt very much like mountain boots. They have an exceptionally stiff sole for a low shoe, and as a bonus the sticky sole is perfect for mountain biking. Overall, if you like Scarpa shoes then I would highly rcmd.
Also, Facewest service was excellent as usual, with quick service and super customer care.
I absolutely love this pad. There are lighter pads but the comfort is more important for me. It is quite bouncy when fully inflated but I find letting a little air out sorts this. I've read other reviews claiming this is a noisy pad, it's really not when compared to other backpacking sleep pads. I'm a serious turner and twister and this isn't too noisy. It's also super comfy for restless sleepers, even on your side or tummy. It is insulated (3.7 r-value) and used with an additional foam pad (mine is a cheap decathlon roll up) is suitable for an Irish winter. It's the best I've ever slept in a tent.
This is a great multi tool that can be carried and used daily. The main blade and tools can be deployed one handed when you get used to it. All the tools lock in place to prevent accidents and are released with a catch. To keep the tools in place magnets are used, which work really effectively. I'd highly recommend the Leatherman Free T4
Very prompt delivery considering so near to Christmas. Best price in the UK from Facewest for this Leatherman after a lot of research. I had a Gerber MP600 knifeless that I left somewhere in my previous abode, but I love this UK 'street-legal' Rebar and it has a much more precisely engineered finish and refined action than the Gerber and because of the deliberate omission of a blade I can take it anywhere with me. If you're considering buying one don't wear your brain out thinking about it and just buy this fantastic tool from the fantastic Facewest and I'm sure you won't regret it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED....
I went for the Acid version and I can now be seen from space! Super lightweight and when folded into its breast pocket it is reduced to almost nothing. There a strong loop so you can use a small carabina to hook it on to you. Also a nice little press stud across the breast so you can have it zipped down for ventilation
Great value for money compared to others in the market. Some venting material under the arms would make this product 5 star.
Lovely hat, good quality, fair price, great colour, very happy, cheers
Bought this for my partners Christmas so he’s not yet got it. Really happy with my product. Only sad that it gave an option to be personalised and it wasn’t. So I’m now going to have to take it elsewhere to be personalised. But overall product was great. Can’t wait to see if he likes it.
Excellent pair of breeks- good fit round waist and extra leg length doesn't really matter (small size). Doubt if they will be used in the Alps, but certainly ideal for all outdoor pursuits in the NW of Scotland at any time of year!
Just as detailed, arrived within 48 hours, great hat and service! Would recommend 👍
As always quality of Arc’teryx on very top level. I’ve own few bits from Arc’teryx and never let me down. Zeta. Super light and packable as per description. Used for few dog walks for now and planing to take it with me for couple days ,after Christmas, of backpacking in Lake District. I’m sure i will be more then satisfied. I already am! 👍🏼
Purchased this jacket to carry in my pack for layering under waterproofs. Also interested on using it as a standalone lightweight jacket when winter driving. It performs really well and you hardly know your wearing it, performs well. Fit is very true to size and the cut is excellent.
Perfect for hanging in the shed!
My husband lost his last, much loved, Leatherman, so this was a replacement as a present. He loves the quality, it’s his constant go-to.
This is a very simple design of hoody, in basic 100 weight Polartec (not gridded as the description suggests) but none the worse for it. The construction is of good quality, with the cuffs, hood and zip flap all lycra bound on the edges.
The hood and face aperture are close fitting, but not over-tight and the aperture comes well up under the chin, so forms a bit of a neck gaiter even with the hood down. I would describe the fit as "close but comfortable" (ie not overly athletic.) The two pocket openings are generous and high (but not too high to be uncomfortable as hand warmers.) The pockets themselves occupy the whole front of the jacket, so will easily accommodate a folded OS map, or a water bottle (or even a wine bottle!)
The Polartec 100 material is soft and very warm for its weight, and has a little bit of resistance to the wind. The ME logos are embroidered on, in reflective thread. I bought the "Cosmos" colour (which is really a fancy name for the colour of a dark night sky, ie a traditional, almost black, navy blue.
All-in-all a highly functional and comfortable piece of kit, which trumps some of the fancier and more expensive hoodies I have tried in the past.
Bought this for my Tikka 2 Plus that is 10 years old but still a fine head torch. The head band had become stretched and no amount of adjusting could get it to fit tightly on my head. Although not specifically listed as compatible I thought it was worth a gamble for less than a tenner. Fitting was fairly straight forward, just remember to keep the small plastic buckle thingy off the old strap. Very happy with this purchase from one of my favourite companies.
Prompt service and delivery. Plus free engraving, couldtn't be better. Thank you!!
In the rough and tumble of outdoor usage and recharging, the USB connector can become loose making it difficult to connect and charge reliably.
Nice fitting hat and warm as it is fairly weighty too. Would recommend. Also great service from Facewest on the delivery.
Lovely warm jacket keeps me lovely and warm and great delivery also.
Great quality fleece! This is the second one my husband has bought he loves it so much! Much smarter than a usual fleece jacket. I would highly recommend!
Bought this for my wife as a belay jacket. Really pleased with the jacket. Just about perfect in every respect. Usual Rab quality. 2 way zip was an essential requirement. Most cheaper insulated jackets don't have this feature. Good size hood and several useful pockets.
Can't vouch for the warmth as it hasn't been cold enough yet, but I expect it will do the job. My wife is a size 8. She expected to have to order a larger size to allow it to be used over her other layers when taking a break on the hills. However this size 8 is generously cut so she didn't need the bigger size. My first purchase from Facewest. Prompt service means they'll be on my list on online shops for the future.
Great warm slippers. Facewest were very quick to deliver the order.
Normally I wear Vibram 5-fingers but have found the recent wet conditions a little too treacherous so bought these 286's on the recommendation of a friend. I run in them, which probably isn't their intended purpose, but they are certainly light enough and the grip is fantastic. Plenty of room in the toe box, minimal drop and dry feet at the end of every run. I'm very happy with them so far and will be using them as an all rounder, for days out in the hills, trail running or even standing on the touchline watching my daughter play football.
Great jacket. Great price. Always try and buy Rab gear. Never had any issues with them. Prompt service from Facewest.
I like this jacket it is very thin and I use it when playing golf, not bought for that purpose, but is perfect for that, as it is so light you don't know your wearing it and does not restrict you at all. As as a base layer under a Beta AR works great
Unbelievably warm and comfortable. I wore this during a trip to the Atlantic coast in October and it kept me 100% dry and warm. I think I'll have to get the LT version as well because wearing a shell over the AR version might be too warm. Probably the best jacket of it"s type, I have ever worn. Tremendous service from Facewest too, far quicker than some other major names I have tried.
Well made, they look as though they should last a while, and they are a good shape and fit. On my winter mountaineering boots they fit very well but on my ordinary walking boots the front hook position is too far forward to stay attached to the laces reliably.
Smart as well as comfortable. They dry quickly in the rain which is essential for long dog walks! Highly recommended.
Light but warm. Excellent value. Great customer service as usual.
I’ve not had this jacket long and already it’s been put to the test in the Scottish mountains. Used with the atom lt is the perfect combo. Keeps out the wind and rain with absolute ease while being completely breathable. First class service from facewest too.
lightweight, breathable, warm. A great piece of kit
Excellent, high quality jacket that dumps a lot of heat during activities like running or mountain biking. I’m 5’5” and around 65 kilos, athletic build and the small fits well with plenty of flex in the shoulders for reaching up overhead. The medium fit me in the shoulders as well, but was much more loose fitting around the waist.
If you already use Hope stuff, you’ll know that they only make the very best equipment. This bayonet clamp is a genuine spare that enables you to switch a Hope R4/R2 headlight unit between bikes quickly and easily.
I have an R4 light which needs to switch between two bikes and this makes my life a dream. Fast, easy to use and top quality as you’d expect from Hope. If you've never tried Hope stuff, you need to. Plus they’re British too🇬🇧!!
Although I have only given this 3 stars it is a very good and clever little chair but the price is ridiculous if it's came with with the semi self-inflating bed pad then I would have said yes the price is justifiable but £40 for the slightly larger one is absolutely ludicrous It is is a really good chair don't get me wrong but it's not worth no more than £20-£25 pounds
Great service. Ordered a XL which arrived 48hrs later. The Hoody was too large so I returned it. The Large turned up 1-2 days later.
I've been in the mountains long enough to say the bag is above my expectations: very good in-out (zip doesn't stick), enough space to dry clothes and night things, (yes, it would be good to have an inside pocket, but that's not really a problem for me ), it is possible to turn in various sleeping positions, the insulation is very well inflated and distributed, the inner material is pleasantly silky and does not stick to the skin, moisture drops glide from the outer material like runners .. the only thing I do not understand is how they managed it all in so little money?..:)
Very comfortable. I wore it for 3 days straight didn't want to take it off. I haven't tried in very cold weather but reading the review it should be good. Happy purchase. Good price and swift delivery from facewest.
Lightweight so best for summer /autumn use; well made up to Patagonia's usual standard and of course its got the ethical/environmental qualifications. great service from facewest
I bought the A5 one for my phone so I can get it in, open in its case. It fits well and I can work the phone through it. Ortlieb say that the camera will work fine through it. It works but the pictures are not clear and look like they are in soft focus. Overall, a good, well-made product.
Prompt service. Perfect U.K EDC for it has knifeless. Leatherman =Quality. Thank you!
Got this free with the Rab G zero jacket. Had to exchange for a large size but customer service was second to none.
Amazing jacket. Very warm and light. Incredible customer service. Would highly recommend buying from these guys.
Have used them once so far on the Lakeland fells over wet ground - feet stayed dry as you would hope. Tight to get on so mindful not to pull too hard on the heel loop - my old (non GTX) model the loop broke quite easily. Snug fit but comfortable for my wide feet. Grip on steep muddy ground and wet rock is excellent. Very pleased so far with this well constructed lightweight boot.
Warm, well fitted and well made product (Small and I'm a 38in chest). I will use as part of a layering system with wind / rain protection over the top and for throwing on in the evening for those spring/autumn camping trips. Checkout and delivery was easy and good value for money when compared to other online stores.
Great everyday jacket. Stylish with loads of features, including a good number of pockets which I like. I was borderline M/L sizes, but went for Medium, which was fine as it’s a spacious fit. But also has adjustments to tighten it up if needed. Facewest was a good price and the jacket arrived quickly!
Excellent product enables you to sit outside without sitting directly on to wet surfaces etc and enables you to keep clothing clean & dry. Quite substantial seat pad folding up for ease of carrying - very light weight. Looked at a number of different options but thought this was one would be most suitable extremely pleased with the purchase.
Purchase and delivery was easy and quick. Mitts are a great discovery because they can be worn on their own or in combination with gloves (I wore them over the Inov8 gloves). Offer great water proof protection and are thin and therefore lightweight, so good for taking on and off depending on conditions.
Purchase and delivery was easy and quick. The gloves are the right balance between being light weight yet offering enough warmth (i.e. they are not super thin and therefore, unable to provide sufficient warmth). Good for the colder outings. Wore them with the matching mitts which is a fantastic combination.
Perfect level of warmth, and waterproofing has held up perfectly so far. Very impressed with speed of delivery and ease of returns with Facewest.
Bought this for my son and he has already used it for a couple of very cold nights sleeping in a unheated camper van. He says it is very warm and comfortable. I went for the longer one and my son - who is about 5'11 - says this makes all the difference and he can really snuggle down in it. Very pleased with the sleeping bag
Great fit great jacket just love it quick delivery 😀
I had the same experience as John from Aberdeen; the strap that goes over the head does not match the original design (which was more narrow), but I was able to attach it in a proper manner and the device works fine!
Super light, warm, great hood, slim fit but still enough space for long sleeve top and fleece.
Patagonia’s Down Hoody may well not have hydrophobic down like one or two of its competitors but the fit, style and overall quality exceeds much of the competition IMO. A great jacket for those pit stops on the hill when there’s a distinct chill in the air, or just to wear when in town shopping or having a wee beverage down at the local.
Excellent communication with Facewest when item was not in stock. I am feet size 10 1/2 and XL was fine for me. The hut slippers are well constructed and have a large area of sole, grippy and intended for light use. I thought they may have come with a carry/storage bag but this was not so. I am happy with my purchase.
Superb product, very well made with good detailing , my 1st Mountain Equipment purchase , definitely won’t be my last
A great sleeping mat with that extra width from head to toe. Lightweight and packs small... just right for my cycle camping adventures.
Long lasting and effective. Good value for money.
The best stuff out there for cracked, sore hands after an intense climbing session.
Great warm to weight ratio and it has decent water resistance. You will struggle to get a better down jacket for the money.
I ordered this in blue love it the size is generous, usually the Neck can be a bit tight but this one isn’t and really comfortable I just wear this on it’s own with my Rab jacket would recommend... Service was first class too.
Delivery good. Unable to comment on quality of the flask as it was a gift for someone.
Just what hubby was looking for. Lightweight, yet warm and with a useful chest pocket for storing his mobile phone. Just right now Autumn is closing in.
Superb lightweight jacket. Narrow fit round hips but better than any female jacket.
Super quality, light weight with excellent self storage handle... Great value for money from Facewest... Perfect if you're looking to keep your kit light as poss, bikepacking or trail running Perfect!!!
I shall never go anywhere without taking This with me! No really it’s absolutely brilliant, You can sit on rocks, rough gravel, tree stumps ,whatever because of the air cushioning you cannot feel it on your sensitive derriere. Compact, lightweight, seems pretty tough. I used to use an old piece of Camping Matt ...Not anymore first class all the way now :0)
It's a solid jacket. Waterproof. Pit zips for when you need some ventilation. Would recommend.
Bought this for my wild Camping trips up Snowdon, very happy with it good buy for £23
Rubbish. You end up with more coffee bits in your cup than actual drinkable coffee and it gets blocked quickly. Waste of money
Well fitting and comfortable mask. Seems durable. Would recommend it.
These gloves exude quality.not overly warm and with a decent cuff they sit nicely under jacket cuff and unlikely to let snow in.your jacket arms will not be bunched up.as with over the cuff dishwashing style.
Had these packed for few days ski touring if weather turned.it rained ,my,back gave out and was a disaster.but pants and jacket stayed dry so situation could of been way worse.made it back though freezing rain and wind with battered ego.But at least I looked smart and avoided hypothermia.
Great mid layer for ski touring.breathes really well and stays in place when reaching etc. if cool ,hood face mask is right there.slept in it too.has little appeal as casual piece but I am happy.
Came from a pair of Aku Pilgrim GTX I had always found too stiff and narrow in the toe for the kind of walking I do (fast and light Munro’s 3-6 hours at a time). These are hands down the most comfortable hiking boot I have ever worn. Plenty of room in the toe box and volume for the mid foot. Low heel to toe drop feels brilliant mechanically, I don’t feel like I’m walking on platforms but rather connected to the ground. Really light but sturdy construction means the break in period is non existent, comfortable straight out of the box. If you know how comfortable and well-fitting Inov8 trail shoes feel, these are similar but a good bit more ‘solid’ for want of a better word. Grip on muddy surfaces is 9/10, grip on dry surfaces is 10/10. They even grip on oil-soaked concrete in the workshop which is way above and beyond. In three weeks of daily wear at work (I wear them in and around a metalworking shop) and in the hills they have been flawless And show zero wear this far. Worth every penny.
Although not yet worn in extreme wet, they are comfortable next to the skin and breathe well with no condensation. They are long on me but roll up easily once on. They seem tougher than previous makes that tore easily in Rocky situations.

I am 6'3 and 86kg and purchased the exped synmat 9 wl winter mat. It's a big investment for a sleep mat but I used it for a wild camp in the Dale's recently and it didn't disappointment. Rolls down to a relatively small size so it didn't take up too much room in my sack and it's not too heavy either. Inflated in no time with the snozzle and I had the best nights sleep. No cold areas, my hips and shoulders were off the ground, plenty of room on it and it's noticeably warmer than any mat I've used previously. Looking forward to using it in winter, I'm sure it will do the job of keeping the cold at bay. Would definitely recommend. 👍
Excellent value they seem to be on a par with the North Face Mules that I have had previously at less cost.
I have had a pair of these for years and they continue to serve me well - they are great, durable and comfortable light-weight shorts. I have been so happy with them that I thought I'd get a second pair and was delighted to find that they're still made. The new ones are very similar to the original ones and come with a built-in belt, which is a bonus, although the unusual buckle latch takes a bit of getting used to. The shorts themselves don't feel so soft as the old ones and rustle a little as you walk. The side pocket has changed from being top-zipped to being zipped down the vertical (rear) edge. I find this fiddly to use and I wouldn't be comfortable to put a valuable in it for fear of it falling out. I have no idea why this has been changed. Mountain Equipment have also added an unnecessary push-in plastic insert into each zip-pull. One of them has already fallen out - more waste plastic to pollute the environment. So overall the shorts are satisfactory but the "improvements" have mainly detracted from what was an outstanding short. Facewest has an excellent website, the best price I could find and a great delivery-included service. I would certainly shop here again.
Amazing hoodie. Expensive but worth it. Highly recommended.

I bought this jacket ready to go backpacking after doing lots of research and comparing its qualities with many others. Its a well made, comfortable jacket with good waterproofing and slightly longer length which I wanted. Looking forward to using it in heavy rain on the Pennine Way
LOVE IT! Really lightweight and has a pack-bag to stuff it into which means it’s really small to carry. Repelling water beautifully but then it is brand new so would expect that. I ordered my usual size 12 but that was snug and no room to layer if it’s cold out. Customer service was quick to refund. I did have to pay for postage to return it and because of the cost of the jacket at £175 the postage was more to cover insurance but I knew the returns policy at the outset so this is not a complaint, just a tip. Ordered size up and this is perfect! Prompt to arrive too!

Light comfortable. I like pull over design. Didn’t come with a stuff sac which was surprising, so had to find one myself.

Really small, yet super bright. We use it for camping and it far exceeds expectations.
Bought as a warm weather belay jacket. For this its perfect! Super light, and the built in zip pocket/ clip loop work really well on the back of your harness, without having to faff with a stuff sack. Which would inevitably get blown away in the wind on a belay anyway! The hood is great with, or without a helmet on (BD Vector). Ive also used it walking, in some pretty terrible light/ medium rain, to which it dealt with exceptionally well. Very impressed indeed!
Incredible shorts. Super comfortable, stretchy and durable. Have had them two weeks and have worn them almost every day since!
Lightweight and packs down very small. Super waterproof (tested in blustery Scottish rain). Hood stays on well in strong winds and has a peak to keep rain out of your eyes. Quantum is a lovely orangey yellow colour. Sized up to Large as I prefer a longer, looser fit to add more layers underneath if needed.

really nice bit of kit cooks bacon egg , sausages with a even cook across the ban for trips that you want to take proper food makes cooking easy
Great fit and good quality fabric that washes really well. I am 34"-35" chest, 5ft 8-9 and about 61kg. Always get size 10. I have a few colours. Wear them with shorts in summer and layered under tops in winter. Quick delivery too.
Bought one of these for each family member as a joke (they look like RAF roundels). They’re large, loose fitting and itchy. Might tighten up with washing. Maybe if I was less bald they would be more comfy - but if I had more hair I wouldn’t need a hat so often.
Purchased each time I change battery for new seal Always from Facewest always great service
This blanket is amazing, I bought almost a year ago and have used it extensively since then. For such a thin blanket it is surprisingly warm, almost like a foil blanket but softer. It packs really well into its own pocket and even then will compress further in my pack. I use for getting cosy on the sofa, relaxing in the garden, and adding warmth to s sleeping bag. I've not tried using the snaps with a sleeping pad yet but have not found any problems from snaps or the zip whilst using the blanket. Finally, the service from Facewest was excellent and very forthcoming when the original design I ordered was unavailable.
Does what I need it to do. Light, takes up little space (unless full!) and robust.
Very comfortable and wash well. This is my second pair and quite impressed with the fit and stretch of the material they are made with.

This is a beast of a mat and the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Quite seriously as comfortable as a good bed. I think it's the thin layer of foam on top of the self inflating element that does it. Great for car camping, and I'd probably offer this to guests above our sofa bed.
Absolutely superb as usual from Arcteryx , tiny bit narrow with stock insole . I have pretty wide feet tho. Put in a Super feet carbon insole , super thin at fore foot are a perfect fit now👌. Super light feeling, but durable .

Excellent all round jacket. So much thought has gone into the design. Very high quality. Suitable for crossing an ice cap or going to the pub; I hope to do both. I'd say the size comes up quite large relative to other manufacturers. Expensive, but Facewest price very competitive and their customer service very impressive and delivery really fast.

I bought these Rab slippers although I was looking for TNF mules. I think I prefer these to TNF for the price and comfort. Facewest were very quick to dispatch the order and their prices are very competitive.

As yet, not used the pan but the quality of product/materials is there to see. Fast and efficient service also. No complaints here. Will use again.
Bought these t shirts for the gym initially, but great quality so decided to keep for the mountains. Material feels great on; however, the fitting is Loose for me, so went a size smaller. Highly recommend, but be careful with the sizing.
Use for crafts brilliant cord Not figured how to choose colours yet lol
Great slippers, very comfortable and light

Top quality jacket and great service from FaceWest. GoreTex Pro works well for rainy environments and the various ties and synch mechanisms are practical for keeping yourself dry and the jacket fitted. My only reservation would be the lack of Chest pockets however I assume that’s part of the FL (Fast and Light) minimal design. Overall a great jacket I can recommend.

Fantastic hiking/mountain trousers. Great fit, fantastic material with good stretch but really tough. Highly recommended.

These are really big well insulated and tough pair of mittens stuffed full of primaloft gold insulation.
Excellent product and great value for money, does all that is expected from a windbreaker, service was great and delivery on time, will definitely use facewest again

Well packages, arrived speedily and is just what I ordered. I have 3 of these in different colours - great caps.
This is the second pair of Approach shorts I have bought. Great fit, good quality and look good both in shadow grey and blue nights. Would definitely recommend these shorts for hiking and general outdoor activities.
Always top service! Jacket is top notch in bad weather.

Great product and fits to size. Comfortable and easy movement. Face west were efficient and quick and kept me in touch at all times with progress of delivery. Great service and great product. Thank you!
When deflated this is tiny and is is a good size when inflated. I thought it was self inflating (and it is to an extent) but it needed a lot more than a few puffs to top up. So I ended up buying a sack inflater which works well but makes the whole thing very expensive. I left it up for a few days when I first got it and I seemed to need to top up the air again. I did have a good nights sleep on it though.
Very good but it’s a Rab after all.

Lost the back of my watch somehow and rather than replacing it this kit solved my problem. Very had to find but has done the trick perfectly Quick delivery. Thanks
Really lightweight about 160, good for bothies, bunkhouses instead of flip flops.
Can’t go wrong with Arcteryx products and this jacket is fantastic. Going to use it mainly for hiking and was torn between this and the Beta but I’m glad I went for this one. Great customer service too. First one I ordered in XL felt too big so ordered an L, which ended up being perfect. Sent the XL back and refunded for that immediately. Couldn’t ask for more.

Love these tops.. this is my 4th one! It is very comfortable and great fabric for wicking. Washes well.and I bung it in the tumble drier. I am a 34 chest and always buy a size 10
Nice retro styling fleece. that wouldn`t look out of place has a casual top. ideal for travelling. slightly on the thin side. so be where if you are looking for a more warm and cosy mid layering piece to see you out in colder climes. one star knocked off because it`s on the expensive side !

I have a number of Arc’teryx products. Never disappointed and this is no exception. Good for layering or stand alone if not too cold conditions. Trim fit if that’s what you like, if not go for next size.i prefer close fit and always buy medium in this brand. 5ft8in. 145lb
Basically this is pretty much what I have come to expect from Rab. A well thought out design, excellent materials and first rate construction. It may seem an odd or almost pointless buy but it does have some benefits namely being incredibly light weight and packing down to almost nothing, The outer Pertex Equilibrium is a very durable material and although not 100% windproof it is probably just about perfect in blocking out most of the wind but still being very breathable. The inner fleece material is very thin and I suspect its primary purpose is to wick away moisture but it does have a surprising amount of warmth for the weight.
My initial impression was that the RRP is high, but no doubt in 10 years time when it's still got years of wear left in it, I will finally acknowledge that it was good value for money after all.
The Mammut Helmet holder is a great l accessory for my Osprey Mutant, it keeps my helmet under control on the outside, stopping the annoying swinging when my helmet is just clipped on to my pack.
Received on time, great product and happy to find this particular pillow as they don't make them anymore and I prefer this style! 10/10 for facewest for having them in stock :)
got this free with another purchase, would I pay £31 ? don't think so but saying that 'for free' I think its brilliant.

3this product has a real quality feel. Although it appears to be flimsy at first I soon realise far more robust than I first anticipated. Used a couple of times now while out running, great at stopping wind and held upwell when I was caught in a shower. Packs away to nothing, so first impressions, top product

Bought as a lightweight mid layer. Design and styling is good as a mid layer. Not esp warm which may be good or bad depending on your purpose. I’ve pretty much worn it everyday for a few weeks and the inner forearms and cuffs are showing slight pilling - I thought we’d left those days behind in the 80’s...
Fast service in the main. Good products and answer queries. Will shop here again
This is a very comfortable lightweight Hoody. This is the second one that I have had, they are very easy to care for and appear to last well.

Great jacket great service highly recommended.
Lovely stretchy feel and a nice slimmish fit. Sizing as expected -- a little loose around the waist initially, but tightens up with washing.
This is a great hoody for layering or wearing on its own. Ultra lightweight but really warm with good pockets. Great value with the 20% discount too.
Everything was okay, the cap and the parcel arrived in a perfect conditions here in Madrid,Spain . Thank you!
I needed something for scrabbling through bramble-lined deer trails, climbing and crossing complex wilderness - these are the best I've found so far. The 4-way stretch means I, finally, never have to feel restricted to move athletically, meanwhile they are tough enough to hold their own against rough terrain. Will update if i reach their limitations.

So far I've worn them nearly every day for about a month and they are like putting slippers on. Very comfortable but haven't had a chance to wear them going around any trials or hiking but I have high expectations and I think these will meet them.

Fabulous bit of essential kit. Subtle colour, super soft feel, snug fit, extremely light but very warm and easily packable. Well made, with useful pocket and nice long zip for venting. Brilliant competitive pricing from Facewest :)
Bought as a gift, fit great and stretchy to accommodate climbing. Delivery was fast and company were great to buy from
Good quality product. Light but warm and very comfortable. Good service from facewest.
Small, lightweight, comfortable to wear. Comes with a re-chargeable battery and cable. This lamp is both bright and functional.
Great lightweight jacket. I use the jacket for climbing and walking in summer. Keeps the wind off and packs very small. FYI this is not shower proof so you will need a water proof jacket

Great light weight T-shirt that came free with jacket. Fit is good, not too tight and keeps sweat off when running. I can fit medium but choose large for more room in shoulders. Good to use when you are not sure if the weather will change on your run, as it keeps you that bit warmer if needed. Would buy another

Really light weight and can wrap up small into pouch that comes with it. Warm enough to keep chill off on summer nights or cloudy day. Fits to size as normal. Draw strings allow you create some shape if you want. The fact that it has a hood is a big bonus as in Scotland you get four seasons in one day! Overall great jacket:
Very good trousers for keeping you dry and well made.

Purchased for my wife. After visiting the Patagonia web site and putting in her height, weight, age etc it came back that an xl would be a perfect fit but I bottled out. Figured if I bought her an extra large anything I would need to sleep with one eye open. The large fits but is snug so I either need a bigger fleece or smaller wife ;-) I would say fit is true to size. Colour is brighter and more vibrant in the flesh too. Well made and should last for years plus I love Patagonia's ethical and ecological stance
5 Stars for the usual excellent service from Facewest... from answering a query about the cut and fit of the jacket prior to order, to me receiving it the next day! My only gripe was that I used a 15% Arcteryx discount voucher, which would have increased to 20% if I had only ordered it the following day...just my luck!
The jacket itself is everything I wanted. Very light and breathable, though it doesn't pack quite as small as I was maybe expecting, and it has no pouch or pack pocket. It is still ideal for use on wet summer days in town or trail. Arcteryx hood is as good as before, not sure if it is helmet compatible, but that is not an issue for me. Previous summer rain jackets have had pit-vents but that would have added to bulk, and the fabric seems very breathable anyway so no condensation issues so far. I have always worn size large in Arcteryx tops, despite being slightly bigger than the recommended chest and waist size. I was therefore concerned this would be too tight due to the 'trim' fit, but it still has room for a couple of light layers. The Arcteryx cut is so good, it fits as it should. I deducted one star for the fabric being rather crinkly and noisy, which is being very picky, but generally I am really happy and expect many years of spring and summer wear from this coat.

Quick delivery and looks like a good hammock. I intend to use it on the deck of a boat and the attachments are very suitable for that. Good one Thermareat and Facewest!
Bought a pair about 2 years ago, wear them all the time. So I decided to but another pair. Comfortable fit constantly.. only slightly too long in the leg. For me the BEST jeans in the world
This is the second pair of those shorts. Really good. Look great in blue. I wear size 30 and have the smallest size 30 in these shorts with a loose comfortable fit (rather larger than other brands). As other review said, buy smaller size if you want a slim fit but the cut is such that the shorts feel and look great in the loose fit.
Despite being one of the simplest garments that Mountain Equipment make, this Aerofoil hooded windproof is also one of the best! A tiny pack size (it stores in its own Napoleon pocket) and minimal weight means you can always justify having it with you, no matter how stripped-down you're going. Having a hood means you can snug it up high around your neck on those evenings when the temperature drops just as you're heading home... And, despite being gossamer-light, the incredibly tight weave of this lightweight fabric means the garment helps you store an impressive amount of heat - way more than you'd ever imagine for a garment of this type! Highly recommended; this has become a 'standard' piece of equipment in my pack.
Been wearing it for casual walks and my 5-10 mile runs. Very very breathable and have stomached temperatures from 8 degrees Celsius to 18. Anything hotter and I’ve packed it into the packable pocket and it’s great! The water repellent coating does the job in light drizzle and would feel confident in slightly heavier rain so thumbs up for my expectations. Facewest delivery was prompt so thanks guys.
These are made from the leather of the alpinism gloves they no longer make. I'd hoped these would be similar. found them bulky and too thick in comparison. lots of space in thumb. Would prefer it closer fitting.
I have not worn the jacket in anger yet but from first impressions it’s well made, it’s certainly warm and I’m looking forward to trying it out in the Scottish mountains this winter. I also thinks it’s a slim fit, I’m 5’ 9”, 40 inch chest and 32” waist and I felt it was a just a bit to tight at the bottom. I’d like to mention that I was very impressed with the service at facewest, I purchased a medium first and had to exchange it for a large, the staff were great in helping me sort it out, good communications and I got my replacement jacket within a week. Cheers

My wife bought me a pair of these from another place last year and I found them very comfortable to wear, fast drying in the event of a shower and a good fit. I searched for another pair and found that facewest had exactly what I wanted at the best price I could find. Ordering was easy and delivery prompt considering these lockdown times. I'm sure Illl be back for more!
Very comfortable, lightweight shorts. Haven't had the opportunity to test the quick dry feature but material would suggest that won't be an issue. I bought the stone blue colour and am very happy with how they look.
A great piece of kit! The Nano Puff vest is light and warm making it very versatile to wear either on the hills or at work. Hopefully I will be testing it properly later into this year but so far I’m very satisfied. Many thanks Facewest for quick posting.

My waist is about 34 and the large seems a good fit. Nicely made. Quite long legs for a 3/4. (that's ok). Fit and cut seem good. No 'fly'. Nice material (as expected and feel comfortable.(I already have a 200 weight similar pair, which I like a lot). Did come packed in a large box (in addition to the manufacturers box), which was unnecessary.
It's been too warm to wear the jacket on Lakes walks but the fit is very good and the jacket appears to be well made. Only four stars because I've not tested the jacket in suitable outdoor conditions. I'd not purchased any outdoor gear from facewest before but was impressed with their service and quick turnaround. Thanks.
Straws to replace old ones. Prompt delivery, would order again from this company
This jacket is superb, great fit and excellent quality. Really impressed with the service from Facewest will definitely be ordering again.

Excellent jacket, has many well thought through features and fits well. I have yet to use it in anger on the fells, but for a few recent sunrise walks and runs it has proven to be great piece of kit - its very lightweight and can be rolled into a very small volume, so should be ideal for stuffing in a rucksack. Early days, but so far very impressed.
Put very simply, this is another amazing product from Mountain Equipment. The pack size and weight are perfect for hiking and rest assured you will get a great night‘s sleep. Yes it may not be cheap but it‘s worth every penny and then some. If it‘s like any of my other ME items it will last and give great service. ˋfacewest´, I couldn’t be happier with my experience to date and I’ll be sure to return. Highly recommended.

Really like this pillow, bought for my partner. It inflates really easily and is very comfortable. She went for the medium size and its plenty big enough. Feels very nice to the touch too.
Bought this for my partner but we haven't yet had the chance to try it camping but have inflated in doors & she tried it out. We were both very impressed with the design & the height of the mattress, it's very comfortable. My partner is 5'5" & went for the shorter one, although she's happy with it she probably should have gone for the standard length. I've bought myself one now so we can't wait to try them out!!
Decent bags, I can get my tarp crushed to a nicely packed, compact size, keep spare thermals dry, separate and again nicely packed, I think the sleeping bag was the biggest difference though, thanks to this selection of bags I have managed to get it down from the full bottom pocket to a good 2/3 leaving enough room to cram some extra stuff into the bottom with it. Overall, they're probably not the best ones out there, but for the price I have no complaints at all. Can't really comment on the water resistance on them as they've not seen any water, but I reckon they'll keep the rain out long enough to get a shelter up.
Not used in the rain yet, as the sun has been shining since ordered! However it is extremely lightweight and packs down very small.very pleased with this purchase.

I bought these out of season, so have had no chance to try them, but I have been skiing in Hestra Army Leather GTX gloves for the last 10 years. Hestra gloves are the best, and the mitts will be even warmer for me, as I get older and less active.

Bought these in large, they were too big. Got a medium and they are great, hard-wearing and comfortable. I know I will have these for many years. Looking forward to trying them in the sea to the self emptying pockets. Would have liked them to have a secure zipped pocket somewhere but otherwise very happy. All Patagonia gear is excellently made and long lasting, I have some of their long johns that I bought in 1994 and I still wear them every winter!
Great slipper, much better price than north face and just as good quality

A good quality Compass, happy with my purchase. I would certainly recommend this product and the supplier.
Quick delivery from Facewest. Brilliant vest, very smart and functional. Tight fitting and good in body length. Use it for early morning walks and MTB to take the wind off. That good my wife now wants one.

Just bought another one about 4 years on from my first. A fantastic mid layer which is my “go to jacket” unless it’s freezing, as it is great for everyday use as well as when out walking (and on the motorbike). Excellent service from Facewest to boot, esp as I put in the wrong postcode, so all in all highly recommend both the jacket and Facewest.
Superb jacket. Light and at the same time seems robust. Packs small. Feels nice against skin. Fit is correct. Only minus is price.

I wanted a running jacket that was extremely light, kept the wind chill off without being too warm and without a hood fitted. The Vital Windshield ticked all the boxes and is great. Size wise, I'm 5'10", 86 kg with athletic build and the medium is fairly fitted but not too tight. I only wear a base layer beneath it so the fit is fine. Would definitely recommend.

"Great jacket good size and length, fits well but room for layers when cold, performed well when caught out in showers and wind recently and hood is fitted well and snug against the weather when cord down in in. Sleeves are a good length too. Can't really fault it except colour available in the sale was black in my size but that can also be handy . Its nice and light with good pockets i also got it on sale so good price too and the service from Face west was excellent prompt clear came in a box rather than lots of plastic packaging delivered quickly. Wish i'd discovered you before & will definitely be buying from you again .Many thanks !

Hi, Just received the jacket today, I must say it was a good purchase, the new model has a best cut than the previous one some years ago, but I have the impression that the new model is less puffy, the sleeves design was updated , sides and waist, I bought Deep Ink blue that color is not so dark not so light (perfect for me ), I am happy with my purchase, first purchase with Facewest and now I tried , I will come back more often, thank you Facewest, by the way the delivery was quite fast even with COVID.

To be honest I wasn't comfortable spending this amount on a pair of shorts but I thought it was worth a shot as I struggle to find a short I like the fit of (prefer longer inseam). These fitted the bill. They ooze quality and are a pleasure to wear. Not too baggy and not too short. I use them for running, biking, climbing and just everyday stuff. They have some water repellency which I think is a bonus. Welded seams which look and feel great. They are not your average pair of shorts. I am 6'2" and 85kg. I am usually around a 32" waist and a Medium fits me well. They finish just above my knees when standing. Fast postage. Can't complain.
Bought as a gift and the recipient is over the moon with them.
Great product. Works on cracked heels as well without slippy socks!
Ordered for climbing and skiing, not got to use it for that yet...but loving it around the house - light, and warm
Bought 5 mm cord to use as lacing for my canoe. Worked fine.
This is fabulous creme for putting on sore spots, grazes, scratches, chapped hands, lips and burns etc. Doesn't last as long as the balm but that doesn't matter we love this product! If you have them both then use them together. Then you have the best of both worlds 😃
used it once so far. Definitely windproof and showerproof. Very light. I like it.

Absolutely love it! Great product and service. Sizing wise slightly smaller than the full zip Rab jackets but probably not enough of a difference to recommend getting a larger size.

I received the Parkclaw on 17th April and have done around 55k in them.
The shoes are nice and light, very comfortable and seem true to size with plenty of room in the toe box, which is good as I have fairly wide feet.
There did seem to be some rubbing at the front initially but this OK now they've bedded in. I bought the Parkclaw as I'm not a full blown fell runner and mainly run through woods and on tracks and paths near where I live and these are advertised as a "door to trail" shoe. The main observation I would make is there already seems to be some wearing of the tread, but again this may be initial bedding in so I'm keeping an eye on it. All in all I'm happy with the purchase but will be monitoring durability and performance against my previous running shoes as I've only had them around a week and a half.
Great bit of kit. As ever with Patagonia quality is top level. Comments on some reviews talk on the fleece piling in places. It looks like this has been addressed as I have worn the fleece heaps and no issues at all. Ideal piece of clothing for chilling out in.
Warm yet very light. Fits true to size for a garment designed to be worn over say one other layer at most.
Great fleece and swift delivery! I would highly recommend this product and FaceWest to anyone.

Easy fitting, lightweight shorts that are very comfortable to wear.
Lightweight fleece with plenty of warmth. Very good fit for me. I am 6’ and 14st and the large size fit perfectly.
Only tried in garden bivvy during lockdown so far... and is luxurious compared to my old thin mat. Seems to be the good alternative to Exped (only 20D fabric) and Thermarest (pricy, reputation for being noisy). But weight is misquoted here - regular is 665g not 530g. Windsock inflating bag works ok, not sure what the benefit of it being long/thin is - it just had to be different from other brands?

Excellent shirt. Not worn much yet but if anything like as good as the Cap Cool Lightweight shirts (I have 3!) I will be very happy!
This is my 3rd Cap Cool Lightweight tee shirt. I got one last spring and wore it ll summer. I washed it occasionlly but with its built in hygiene system you really can wear it for a few days in warm or hot without it stinking! These are perfect for purpose; when it's warm or hot you want clothes that feel light as light as possible amd these do that - they are so thin that they are barely there, it feels lile you are almost wearing nothing.
I bought a long sleeve one too which makes an excellent base layer or can obviously be worn on its own.
I bought this blue one jist to habe different colour. The fit on me is large as this is a fairly fitted shirt rather than a regular fit so if you are after something loose I would go for large - I am a 43ish inch chest.
Be aware that the other capilene cool shirt, the trail shirt is a different fit, regular, I think is the word, or relaxed, so a medium is fine for me in that style.
All in all these are probably rhe best warm weather activity (or not!) Tee shirts out there. I would 100% recommend them for comfort and practicality. I will be buying more.

Great jacket from rab . As a keen photographer I wanted something light to throw in the camera bag to keep the wind and chill off when required. This Rab top works really well and is very lightweight and so takes up no space when packed. I’m also finding it perfect when on the mountain bike as a windbreaker. Would definitely recommend this Rab Borealis jacket.

I had one of these pots before and it was excellent, good quality steel and smooth operating latch, unfortunately this one though functional enough just isn't up to the same standard, thinner steel and a lumpy awkward latch operation. It is just about worth the money.
Disappointed that the strap retaining loop failed, forcing me to make a replacement purchase. Strap itself wearing well, as Suunto straps do. Surprised by early failure as this is a premium product which in my experience, lasts for years of regular use. More than happy with Facewest service, product and price. Delivered promptly and as advertised.
Have not used the jacket in the hills yet due to the lockdown. Have used for walking trips around were I live. Good size fit, very comfortable and highly breathable, which is what I need as I run very hot. Great service from Facewest. Jacket arrived undamaged after 2 days from ordering. Would definitely recommend this company. Roll on the end of the lockdown, have missed 2 trips to the Highlands, but fingers crossed for the Alps in July???
Great product. A tighter fit helps keep ears warm. Would recommend.

Beautiful, breathable and lightweight wicking material. If you are carrying the slightest bit of gut whatsoever then size up though as this t is pretty small. I usually take a size large with rab gear as I have a 42” chest but, I’d need a size XL with this tee.

This is my second Rab Power Stretch Pro Jacket. They are a bit pricey but oh so worth it...I have worn mine so much the pence per wear must be v low indeed. My first Power Stretch (now 4 years old) was one of the most useful items I took on a trek to Everest Base Camp - light but warm, versatile (can be layered under ski jacket, used as an outer layer or over a dress), stylish, quick drying, non-wiffy. The roomy zipped pockets make this very practical.

Well made jacket, thought it would be warmer. Excellent price though.

Brilliant jacket. Very good fit and quality of material. Great service from Facewest!
Well fitting, lightweight and comfortable to wear. Would recommend.
I’m very happy with bottle, keeps ice for days and easy to drink from.
I have worn Mountain Equipment for many years. Normally wear a down jacket for work (working for NHS in the community) and needed to be able to wash jacket frequently due to present situation. Been a great jacket washes well. Warm and wind proof. Will also work well when get back on the hills. Stay safe everyone.

Very pleased with this jacket. I'm a big fan of the quality of Patagonia gear and this is no exception. I can see it lasting for many years. I have a hooded version as well I have indeed had for years and used a lot. It's great! And so is this one!
I'm usually 'large' for clothing and this does seem to come up a tad on the big side but it's very comfortable and M would have been too small.
Comfortable, good fit, high quality brushed cotton fabric. It feels like it’ll last a lifetime. Highly recommend.

This is a super lightweight jacket. I have worn it every day since it arrived. Great to take off any chill. Extremely comfortable to wear. Great fit (I am 5'11 38"Chest and opted for a Small)
Fantastic gloves. Arrived very quickly, exactly what we were after. Incredible price. Thanks so much will buy from you again!!

I have a Rab Alpine jacket and a Rab summit jacket that fit either end of the spectrum as far as warmth is concerned. What I needed was something in between. The Cerium LT fills the gap nicely. Fits me well and so far it has performed very well. Seems to trap more heat because of the windproof outer fabric and I think it would be good between +6 and -10 deg C depending on layers worn, physical output etc. Personally I would like a heavier duty zip and velcro tabs on the wrists but then I'd probably be complaining about the weight and compressability. Packs in to a stuff sack that is sewn into the inside pocket and can then be clipped to a harness. Overall very impressed.

A bit small in sizing, A nice warm jacket very light but why no locking zipper? so if you get a bit warm you cannot open the jacket without the zipper coming completely undone, I know the top of the zip has some fancy shape to help it lock but lower down the jacket hasn't got this. hood could do with a peak.

This is the first pair of walking shoes or boots from any manufacturer that I feel need to be broken in. Did a gentle 3 miles on flat ground in them straight from the box and was not immediately impressed. The sole is very stiff from front to back meaning they don't flex. This caused heel lift resulting in blisters on my heels. I stopped several times to try different lacing patterns but couldn't eliminate the heel lift. I acknowledge that some of this could be my hobbit feet but the Scarpa approach shoes I got at Christmas haven't caused me any problems. I'm going to tape my heels and do several sessions on the tread mill in them and hopefully they will get more supple. I will say the sole is very grippy, as good as the 5tens they were purchased to replace and they will probably shine in more rugged conditions but can't help feeling slightly disappointed. Purchased during a 40% sale.
Although is a very good light and efficient brush scraper ideal for camping equipment is the best scraper to be used for split boarding to remove ice and snow around the bindings fix system and also to trim and attach splitboard climbing. To sum up is a very useful tool ;)
Yes this product works well. Checked Youtube to ensure I got fixation correct. Straight forward and got a result.
Lovely colour and great fit
Found these gloves at a really keen price on facewest. Quick dispatch. Good fitting, tough glove. I like the cuffs, helps the gloves not to slip when handling rope.
recently purchased ideal belay jacket very good quality design and construction and seems very durable for mountain use. I expect it too be as warm as it appears. I highly recommend this product

Very warm and cozy, haven't properly tested water-repellency yet, but looks good too. Sleeves a bit too long for me, but that's not too bad. There's a lot of space around the neck even when the zipper is zipped till the end, so it gets breezy, you gotta have a scarf or a high neckline from the pullover, that's a bit annoying. Massive pockets which I find is a big plus. Overall a very nice jacket.

Absolutely love this jacket. It's lightweight, warm in a good way and the loveliest colour of blue. The hood is key in the UK but light and not heavy, hardly notice it. I use it for running and walks. Perfect. Good fit, not to small and not to big. No hesitation in recommending it.

My previous pair of ME over trousers were the Aeon pants ... they were lighter in weight and generally I was pleased with them. However perhaps they did not perform that well in all day wet conditions.
My recent purchase of the Odyssey pants as yet I have not had the need to ware them. From my observation they are of excellent quality and good design as you would expect from ME. I have been assured they are more suitable for all day wet conditions.

New user to the company, excellent service. The shorts are very lightweight, and fit very well.Good price.
Great sleeping bag, light, warm, packs small and great that it’s made from recycled materials
Great product, great service and fantastically competitive price compared with other outlets.
Very good service and swift delivery. Would not hesitate to order from Facewest again.

I purchased this pack Feb 20 after deciding this one ticked all the boxes for me. An ideal size for a day off piste, a brand I trusted, sensible cost, durability and the option to transfer the airbag to a larger pack should I fancy some ski touring.
After using for a holiday I'm pretty confident I picked the right tool for the job. A couple of calls to Facewest prior to purchase for advice was a great help too.
Just try not to headplant in really heavy snow. You can accidentally set it off. My fault.... certainly not a slur on the product.
First class product from a first class seller I can highly recommend and will for sure use this helpful friendly company again,
Looks great, nice style.
So far have nothing negative to say about this jacket! It's so satisfying to watch the water bounce off it :D The hood is large so there's plenty of space for helmets (or lots of hair)! Pockets seem well sealed, zips are strong and overall feels like a well-made piece of gear. Love the Atlantis colour too. Transaction with facewest was fast, secure and easy and the best price I found. Thanks!

Wow! What a great deal. I was looking for some ski brakes that would fit my older touring bindings and also fit my new wide, all mountain ski. These did the job perfectly.
The speed and efficiency of the mail order service was fantastic, quick and easy. Well done, great job.
Very quick postage. Great quality T-shirt and fits well. True to size. Definitely recommend

Found the site easy to use. Exactly the jacket my wife was looking for (in the colour combination she wanted). Speedy delivery. Well worth a 5Star Rating!
Very good. Nice and sticky. Has revived my 25 year old Pomoca skins

Arrived on time, everything as described :)
The main reason I only gave this jacket 4 stars is 2 fold.
1) One thing I would have expected for such an expensive jacket is a 2 way zip, so you can unzip from the bottom or top.
2) The hood design is too big ( if you don’t wear a helmet of some kind ), you can’t get a full closure around the face that easy because of the size of the hood. Perhaps if Arc’ Teryx were to give you the option of either a normal size hood or one which can cover a helmet it would be better.
Other than that a fine jacket.
Am really impressed with this beanie I was abit sceptical at 1st because its so thin but it is incredibly warm and well made highly recommended and would definitely purchase again
Fab backpack. Ideal for the skying / snowboarding trips. Especially having to carry little ones equipment as well as my own; and other bits and bobs; I can’t actually imagine being without it! It’s spacious enough and very very light. Can’t praise this backpack enough!

Exactly what the description says, I absolutely love this jacket. So light and able to store in the smallest stuff bag for my Kilimanjaro trek in June. Went out in wind and rain to try it and it certainly met all my expectations; dry and warm and didn't feel the wind.
Customer service was fantastic! I am a size 12 and ordered a medium but felt I needed the large. I returned the jacket on Thursday and received the replacement on the Monday.

Good product. reasonable price. light and useful for expeditions for adults and those on D of E
Ideal for A4 map printouts and made from the high quality plastic that does not crack when it is really cold. Could do with the lanyard being a bit longer but apart from that it is excellent.
This is excellent for A4 documents in all weathers, sturdy and waterproof. This is my third as I have a bad habit of misplacing them,
Have always been dithery in snow/ice conditions. A friend recommended them for a trip to Iceland. Absolutely wonderful - gave me confidence and independence. Well worth the money - an essential item.
It's a knock out warmth to weight was a perfect for me as i've some great compressible mid/outer-layer items that marry well too the Fitzroy. The quality of build looks fine all zippers draw cords work as intended.
I watched Dave MacLeods' Winter gear list on UTube , his comments on the Fitzroy sold me, the conditions he works in are testimony enough. All I can offer at this time is this - I'm 63kg 172cm ,, size small is perfect. With enough room for my hooded small Rab Cirrus flex or Medium Xenon jackets. As it's summer here it's winter weather credentials can only be gauged, by what others have experienced. Hope this helps you out.

Excellent Beanie, Loved the colour options available, but the Navy/Light Ocean was a no question choice and facewest had the item at a very competitive price and delivered swiftly.

I already had a pair of these. I like them so much I bought another pair in case they are discontinued.
Good gloves for all sorts of things in temps near freezing and below. At them moment I mostly wear them on my morning cycle commute. I have enough dexterity that I can even handle things as small as wireless earbuds without dropping them, which is remarkable for a full winter glove.
They are adequate for most conditions outside the poles and below 5000m.

Comfortable light weight jacket, which is wind proof and a little bit flexible. Shame there's no double zip though.
I work in wintry temperatures, -5 to +4°C and this jacket on it's own isn't warm enough, but combined with another jacket, it copes fine. This jacket comes into it's own when temperatures rise to moderate, but windy.
Well made, and zip like the elasticated sleeve ends and hood.

This is a great jacket at a very reasonable price for the quality. Warm, lightweight and smart - What more could you ask for ?
Great service from Facewest. Would definitely recommend this company.
This was the first time I had used them and will be returning- and I am not one to leave reviews usually. Such was the great service I received.
Just home from 2 nights under a tarp on the Ridgeway, in February with frost and rain. The Thermarest XTherm packs small, is light and incredibly warm. It was comfortable, I sleep on my side and have to turn every couple of hours, this wasn't a problem at all, I never came off the mat and the noise was perfectly acceptable. Definitely recommend it if the price isn't a problem.
It's the most comfy high quality rain jacket I tried on (and I tried a lot!). I especially like the long fit and the high side pockets that go well with a heavy backpack. The material is a bit louder than other jackets' which makes conversation nearly impossible for me with the hood on (might be better for you though, I don't hear that well).
Can't say anything about waterproof, did not experience heavy rains up to now. The crimson/ruby is amazing! Everything fine and fast delivery!

Very light weight and breathable. Reasonable warmth considering the weight. I hadn't realised prior to purchase that the zip was on the 'wrong' side. A minor annoyance but does not detract from function.

I'm in the process of field testing these in Scotland during storm Dennis. Quickest skin to ski and vise versa I've had. A great product.
Exactly what I needed, having broken the back of my watch trying to fit a new battery. Very pleaded to find it here. Unfortunately I was let down by the delivery firm but that's hardly the fault of Facewest.
I have not tested these pants in the mountains yet, but so far they work extremely well on winter bicycle commuting.
They are so comfortable, waterproof, pack in a small pouch, generous pockets, really ideal for alpine climbing or any other outdoor activity.

Work well, tried them the other week make walking easier, if you are unsure what crampons your boots can take then these are a must.
Needed a new battery for my Hope R1 headtorch, supplied quickly giving new life to the torch and reducing waste, an excellent service.
I purchased this because the new neoair I had purchased about 3 months before was so load I couldn't sleep on it without getting a elbow in the ribs and shouts from other tents to shut up, one of the other guys there had one of these uberlite at first I was a tad sceptical about the really light fabric but it seems to hold up well so far also I would also recommend getting the large in any of these mats you would be amazed at the amount of difference the extra room gives you, the uberlite works well by no means as robust as the others but it does the just. I would definitely recommend summer late spring and a bit of fall for usage I really wouldn't be comfortable in the belows with this although you could couple with a foam pad or foil blanket underneath to help with escaping heat loss, but it's great for summer hikes. would definitely recommend.
This is a great probe, quick to put together with an easy to use locking mechanism.
Really pleased with my purchase. Best price anywhere. Speedy delivery. Had to return the item originally delivered as I had ordered the wrong size (my fault). Almost immediate refund on this item before the replacement item was delivered equally quickly. Great service all round.

Brilliant jacket for those that don't like wearing heavy ski coats - if it's cold just add a base/mid layer as the coat keeps the wind/snow/rain out. Only (small) criticism is that I'd prefer a detachable hood. Nevertheless highly recommended.

Good value Shovel... My only niggle would be that it's quite easy to get the handle in the wrong way as the handle is different each side but not a major issue.
Very light weight but I wasn't keen on the locking method so exchanged for a black diamond tour 280 which has a very good locking method.
I bought this for my wife as I already have the very same. In my opinion the best sit mat there is.
Warm and comfortable. Great gloves.

Well made, good design. I like the cupped ear flaps, nice touch. I've worn it in storm Ciara and it didn't blow off. No problems with ordering and delivery from Facewest.

I bought a large which is normally OK for me, however the fingers fit too narrow, so I gave them to my son. I decided to order the XL , but now the fingers run a bit too long. So to sum up - narrow fingers.
Needed replacement mammut carbon cylinder - live near Facewest so took ‘old’ cylinder for exchange, having purchased new cylinder on line beforehand. This was at 15.30 and the refund minus the small exchange fee was confirmed before 17.00 - amazing! Even got a bit of discount with built up credit.
As always, Facewest service and help excellent from start to finish (about 2 hours in all!).
My grandson was delighted with this shirt.

Wonderful for wet and cold weather, I have worn the gloves for many years. I bought the mitts so I could wear silk liners underneath on really cold days.
Great price and service from facewest.co.uk. I will definitely order from these guys again!

Bought this as my Suunto Core, which I've had for 15 years or so, doesn't have GPS. Brilliant watch, everything I need without the clutter that more expensive watches have. My only wish is that the battery would last longer when in GPS record mode. As always, a great service from Facewest.
Bought to replace trusty Thermoball. Great fit, more pockets, a bit warmer, very comfortable and nice and light. Highly recommended.

Well so far so good, though I haven't used it in the mountains for real yet.
Firstly Facewest delivered promptly, great service.
Secondly, the bag itself seems very well made and practical. Not tons of space as some of the top is taken up by the RAS pocket, also meaning you can only access the main pocket from the back (the padded side that goes against your back). This is also where the water pouch pocket is inside too, not sure if that matters, perhaps will stop the water being too cold? Bit odd but, but works I guess as you'd never access your main pocket without taking the bag off anyway.
Also important to note, the 'Tandoori spice' colour is not a rich orange as shown but more of a lighter, earthier orangy mustard colour. Still quite nice, but not at all what I was expecting. I found the same things with another Dakine bag I bought, so clearly thery're pretty bad at colour matching marketing images to reality!
Anyway, can't wait to try it out in the mountains.

I bought these as ski gloves as I was unimpressed with my full leather ski mittens. These gloves were not warm enough at -13C, however, I managed to fit some merino liners which gave enough warmth. As previously mentioned the fit is snug but eases with use. They dried much quicker than my old ski gloves. I think these would rate higher as mountaineering gloves rather ski gloves. For ski gloves I'd give 3 1/2 stars. Still looking for the perfect pair.

Bought for wild conditions in Scottish winter. Not used yet, but look perfect for the job. Facewest service excellent, as ever.
It is what it is but used on new marmot working gloves for ice climbing in Norway and kept the glove waterproof. Needs to be worked in but is ideal with a leather glove used on a daily basis.

Bought these as a work glove whilst out in Rjukan - really warm (with a liner) whilst climbing and belaying but obviously they are leather and need reproofing. but for me they suited the purpose and a lot less pricey than the usual buy - i can buy a few pairs of these for the price of others
Superb service, The fit on the glove is perfect I can’t wait to try them out in the alps in a few weeks time. Very happy.

Fantastic product at a great price. Will be used on a bike packing trip and be extremely useful....
Having read extremely positive reviews on this jacket and seen it was the top 'Editor's pick" on my American go-to outdoor gear site, Outdoor Gear Lab, where they do stringent testing on the best outdoor gear there is out there, I decided to take the plunge and get one from Facewest - who always have great gear and excellent prices and customer service.
I am not disappointed! Absolutely great jacket. No fancy stuff where it isn't needed, just super lightweight and very warm and windproof.
The only negative for me and all that is stopping me awarding 5 stars is the hood. With a little tiny bit of effort they could have stuck a drawcord adjuster on it but they didn't and it is too big for my head unless I am wearing a beanie under it. Apart from that, I love it. A great investment.

"Solid set of crampons for basic glacier walking and moderate slopes. Well built. Great range of shoe sizes due to the clever design, so no need to get long bars for the well endowed.
Ideal for my B2 boots feet nice and toasty keeping their shape so far.
Great lightweight Tee from RAB at a competitive price from Facewest. Wicks nicely, used so far as base layer for hiking but can be used as a Summer Tee by itself when it warms up.

I'm very happy with my jacket. It's super comfortable, doesn't move when you lift your arms high above your head, and has ample pockets that aren't obstructed by a harness or rucksack belt. That said, the hood is substantial ... so great whilst you're wearing a helmet but a little too large if you're not.
As usual, the delivery from Facewest is excellent ... thank you all!

I am a size 10 female and really liked this jacket but had to buy a small men's. in all my research of various belay type jackets, many of them were made only for men or the women's equivalent was not as good technically e.g. not as warm or with as many features. So frustrating! The Fitzroy would have been perfect in the correct size and shape for me. As it is, I love it but it is big in the shoulders and arms and the sleeves are way too long so I will have to turn them up. Come on mountain equipment and other brands, make the same jacket for women!

Great jacked, good cut/fit and great service as always from FW.
i brought this pillow as an air pillow was the only pillow i have not tried for my neck and shoulder problem I've had for the last 20 years. i have used it for just over 1 week now and has made a vast improvement in my sleeping and the pain when i wake up. it took a few days to get pressure just right. i'm a side sleeper and found i didn't need to keep trying to mould it like normal fibre filled pillows. it keeps it shape but at the same time moulds to you automatically. i was amazed how small it folds up. for me in such a short time it has made a big improvement in terms of sleep quality and pain. thumbs up from me.
Best thing I’ve bought in a while. I used to make a flask from a French press the night before work but this handy wee gadget saves the need to do so. Great buy
Perfect for work and wild camping.
This was a great buy. Keeps my coffee warm for so much longer. Delighted with my purchase
I’ve ordered a couple of products from Facewest. Good service and delivery both times. In terms of this product, well, I wouldn’t be buying a replacement watch strap if Suunto straps lasted longer than a few years before perishing. Looks good and very practical, but 2 stars off for lack of long term durability. Two small flat head screwdrivers needed for fitting.
High quality and exceptional dexterity. It is comparable to the very good hestra gloves.
Best winter gloves instead of mittens. Especially if you by a second set of inners for winter trips. Supple leather and and good dexterity.

This is a slight departure for me anyway as most of the arcteryx lt type jackets that I have owned in the past have been fleece lined and not filled.
As such I have found it slightly warmer and more wind resistant but much more versatile for general use in the UK and haven’t needed to layer it with a shell as much.
Overall this is an excellent versatile mid/outer layer.

Amazing gloves, I changed to these after my Sabre gloves finally died after 6 years hard use. Really impressed with the ease of use and incredibly warm. Highly recommend

Just done my Coll tex skins and works very well in practice. Takes about an hour for someone who doesn’t do this on a regular basis and providing the video on how to do it is followed correctly it is straight forward.
Apart from out door/mountaineering use this has an excellent additional use. if you travel around staying with friends (or someone comes to you) for a night or two I feel a bit guilty about the host having to change the bed clothes. So you can use one of these and save that hassle. My daughter lost mine on a DoE trip so I am buying another.
Great jacket, really light, but really warm. And fantastic price!!

I already own a Rab shirt and like the brand and quality feel, the shirt is very good value the fabric is nice and had a good feel, the size is a little less then there past shirt so I would recommend you check as my Large older one is about 15% lager which could affecting the shirt you want

Nice and light with a good beam. Mid setting is good for walking and running with good definition on the ground so easy to see undulations etc if you're running. Full beam is extremely powerful and more than I ever need. The red light is surprisingly usable if you want to be stealthy and not moving fast.
My only gripes - the on/off button isn't the easiest to operate and I sometimes temporarily blind myself with the light reflecting off my hand when I operate it, and the ratchet on the up/down adjustment could be finer. Sometimes I feel I want to angle it in between two settings.
Like wearing a duvet. Great fit, so comfortable, warm, look good. I’ve hardly taken these off since getting them. New best winter pants. Thoroughly recommend.

Update to my previous review. Having been disappointed with these skins on a previous trip to the Canadian Arctic , I decided to give them another chance, this time in warmer conditions in the Alps.
My original disappointment centred on their failure to adhere to the ski. As I suspected they were failing due to exceptional cold (despite friends other brand skins working fine), and this time around the were great. The skins ability to grip on snow was really impressive and surpassed where I might have considered fitting harscheisen.
So, much better than when I used them in April/May, great grip on snow but suspect in really cold conditions (sub minus 25). Rating is tempered by their functionality in really cold conditions and without that they would be 4 star.
Purchased as I am a walk leader, ideal size, great price. Not too heavy.

This is a superb base layer. I’ve recently returned from a hiking and fat biking trip in -15 degree Finland and it performed exactly as as described. Keeping me warm, its comfortable to wear, it wicks sweat away, drying quickly and best of all - no smells! - which is amazing. I just want to add that there is minimal itchiness - I wouldn’t say none, but its barely noticeable. I will definitely buy this top again.
An excellent trade-off between weight and capacity.
Very comfortable and well-fitted up (I carried my skis on a rocky edge today) and down (it doesn't move a bit), even for small riders (I am 5'5"). And it's very elegant ;)
Disclaimer: I haven't tested the airbag yet (luckily)
The clips came quickly which is what i required, many thanks for the rapid dispatch.
Needed a new mug for a new van!
Fits the new van well. It is a great mug and will last a long time.
This coat was bought for my son who is 16. We went for small and fits according to measurements provided on website. It is really lightweight but extremely warm. It can be folded into a small bag that is provided with the coat. The price I paid was extremely competitive. The delivery was extremely quick after purchasing coat. I would definitely purchase from Facewest and couldn’t rate them more highly.

I bought these for my husband and he loves them! They're super comfy and look good on. They are a bit expensive but are a quality ethically made product. I'd say they are true to size.

The jacket is up to Rab's usual high standards. No faults with it what so ever.
Rab Womens Superflux Hoody is as perfect as all the other Rab products I bought so far. I love their fabrics for their quality and breathability! They fit me perfectly!

Bought for newly qualified royal marine ,he loves it . Had a problem with the engraving but new one was sent out the next day, absolutely first class service would definitely buy from Facewest again, and recommend them.
Got this as a free add on when I bought the winter torque trousers.
I have a couple of lightweight rab base tshirts already and this was a safe bet... The shirt is extremely light and nicely cut to be not baggy nor touching me. I'm normally a large in most tshirts and this is about bang on. Haven't had a chance to test its wicking ability just yet, other than a base layer for winter dog walking.

I've had the 'non winter' version of the Torque trousers for a couple of years and really like the fit and comfort. I had some surgery recently and since have been feeling the cold for the first time ever - these were an obvious choice.
Same fitted shape, but obviously these are lined with fleece on the inside. Same high wear tougher panels and the only major difference is these have a proper fastener at the waist vs the non winters being fully elasticated.
I've had them on now for several weekends and they're crazy warm without being restrictive or 'heavy'. They even kept me warm all day whilst helping a friend remove a broken engine from a track car!

Covert cardigan is a great product. Wear overalls shirt or T-shirt. keeps its shape great looking for casual and rugged for expo use. Looking to buy another. More colours would be great.

These have been purchased as a Christmas gift for my son-in-law. He specifically requested these gloves, so I'm sure they will be suitable for his outdoor pursuits.
Very please with this versatile crampon. It will fit my snow board boots, I thought that a long shot, walking boots which won't take my climbing crampon and possibly it may work as a contingency for snow fields on high trail runs. If you want it for snowboard boots get the crampon 2 sizes up from boot size.
Very comfortable and look good (apparently). I've lived in them for the last two weeks. Hopefully they will wear well too.

My boyfriend loves this shirt. Great colour and quality. Super soft and thick material. Much cheaper here than other shops we have seen it. Delivery was very quick. Had to re-order a new size as the medium was a bit tight under the arms. The refund was very quick and easy as well.
Very happy.

These slippers are very light and were the weight stated in the description. I have not worn them in a hut to comment on their practicality, but they fit and they will be going to Austria with me in March.
I was disappointed that the compass arrived with one non-skid foot pad missing. Other than that, the compass was in new condition. Facewest's customer support were very co-operative and we managed to find a solution quickly. The compass otherwise seems okay.
The map scale markings are merely painted on, whereas, the inch and centimetre markings along the edge are partly inscribed. Without the non-skid pads, I'm almost sure these markings would rub off quickly if using it on a map regularly; so make sure you don't lose any of the three non-skid pads.
I'm not 100% confident in the plastic clip that holds the lanyard to the compass body, or the plastic adjuster at the neck end of the lanyard (I removed this and secured the end with a figure of eight knot). I'll be keeping a close eye on the clip at the compass end, though. This clip, however, could be discarded as well and something else easily improvised just for peace of mind.
Overall, I really like the compass; it's a nice piece of equipment and it does more than just point north. The baseplate is solid and robust and the rotating bezel is equally robust and of a good and attractive design. The luminous markings work well in low light, the mirror is excellent and the little magnifier is nicely placed on the baseplate and very useful. The folding mirror has a locking facility, which is nice and keeps the rotating bezel well protected. A small alloy screwdriver for adjusting declination is attached to the lanyard and is ideal.
I like that the compass is made in Finland and it states that on the baseplate.
I do definitely recommend this compass and facewest for their service.
Fits perfectly and makes buying batteries so much easier.
Absolutely delighted with this jacket. I wore it for the first time at the weekend, it was warm, very comfortable and light to wear, it is everything I hoped for.
Also, excellent service from Facewest, the jacket was dispatched the day it was ordered, they now have one very satisfied customer.

Beautiful jacket, bought for my son to replace a previous one he had ripped. This jacket looks great in graphene with nice red trim. Excellent quality as you would expect from Rab. Got it for a good price from Facewest and with quick delivery. Very satisfied.

These pants are marvelous. Totally waterproof and windproof. They are very comfortable. Reinforcements make them solid in places needed. Very light and small after packing, so good for trips.

I normally buy Large in jackets, so tried a Large in the Arc'teryx Fission SV and it fits perfect. So in my opinion true to size charts.
Very good quality and in fact I subsequently bought the Arc'teryx Beta AR trousers to go with it. I might become a fan :)
The only downside is this stuff is expensive.

Bought the mittens following a finger injury which caused much reduced blood flow and a painfully cold finger. The mittens prevent all heat loss in UK climate and for duration of recovery are perfect.
Lightweight and very nice quality vest. Multi-purpose really, can be worn under a waterproof shell or on top of base and mid layers on a cold dry day. Well positioned hand and breast pockets plus you get a stuff sack for packing if needed. Very good.

Deep pockets, warm looks good. I had considered one costing £100 more.... this matched the quality.

This tool looks perfect for the purpose it was purchased for, however the description fails to mention that it comes with a carry case/belt pouch and so I had ordered a separate one which will need to be returned. Other than this slight misinformation, this is a very high quality product (as expected by leatherman) which should last me for many years. I have other leatherman tools which are approaching 15 years old and still work as needed so I do have high hopes for this tool also!
I ordered this as a gift, so can’t comment on the product but know it will be well received. I also wanted to thank Facewest for the speedy and well packaged delivery, and very competitive price. Would highly recommend. Thank you
Great service very happy with purchase

The watch is lightweight and comfortable, is easy to read, useful functions. It is easy to setup and robust.
Great pair of gloves, nice tight fit which is needed for dexterity, wearing them feels like a second skin. Warm feeling with a thin fleece lining, don't expect it to keep you warm in sub zero temps but for UK weather perfectly fine.
I haven't tested the water resistance of it yet. Only negatives are that the opening for your hand to fit into these gloves are smaller than on average meaning you really have to squeeze those hands in. Also i wish the cuff was a little longer, maybe by an inch or so.

Fast Service, easy transaction, this Thermarest is one of the best I tried and would recommend, have used Thermarest for the last 20 years and have always been durable and reliable,
Having lost a good glove last season I'm sure that with these 'handcuffs'it will not happen again. Easy to fit on my new gloves. Pleased with my purchase

This is the first Arcteryx product I have bought, and whilst it is not cheap, it is clearly well finished and does look very smart. The fit is not super-tight (sorry, 'technical' fit!), but it is slim and comparable to other brand fits.
The LT vest is very light and packs down to nothing, but it is still very warm and comparable to few older fleece vests without the bulk. It seems to work well over a base or mid-layer, or under a insulating jacket without overheating.
The service from Facewest was also very excellent - i forgot to apply a discount voucher to my order, so i emailed them and within an hour I had a credit returned for the difference!

Really solid and well cut. They're a little stiff so maybe not the most practical climbing trousers but fine for everything else.

It does what it says on the can. Fantastically light for the warmth that it produces and squashes to a nice little packet.
Great to put in your rucksack if you`re not sure whether extra warmth is needed. I use it ski touring, walking, around the house if the heating hasn`t come on.....

This is a useful piece of kit to add a front pocket to pack such as a climbing pack that lacks pockets. It fit my 40l mountain pro pack by attaching to the side daisy chains but could attach to many different packs particularly with side daisy chains.
Hi this is great piece of kit giving an easy way to inflate any neoair mattress without getting a headache. Not sure about the camp stool idea though. Id rather use it as a sit mat on the right piece of ground.
My only complaint about this product is that it is too small.
The material is great and wicks well, but because it is too small it rides up and doesn’t give the protection and warmth you need from a beanie.

I have lived with my original Wave for many years and it is finally showing its age. The new Wave + is an incredible improvement on what I thought was the ultimate Leatherman. Sturdy, practical, incredibly handy, brilliantly made. Real quality and even more lockable tools.
Warm, cosy, light, thin, nice shape, cut surprisingly long so it doesn't ride up (on me at least!) - you'll wear it more than you need to because you forget it's there! The hood is just right to keep a draught out of your neck but scrunches away to almost nothing under another layer. For a midlayer fleece it's also fairly wind-resistant. Another ME staple, why haven't you got one?
The only issue is I can't seem to get hold of one in ME pillarbox red!

Great midlayer. The gridded fleece seems to make this very breathable and warm for its weight. Wore this and shell jacket and was fine at the top of Whernside in a gale with wind-chill down to -8°C. If you do get sweaty it dries quick. Hood is close fitting and traps heat well. It also feels well made.
A note on sizing - I'm a slim 5'10" with 36" chest and needed to get an XS.
Great Grippy Glove Good For November!!

Debated over buying a new battery for my 7 year old Hope R4, or buying a new head torch when my original battery started dying unpredictably. Glad I did, the Hope is back to its usual brilliance and run times are much improved. Added plus is that the battery charge indicator gives a good idea of how much power is left. One less thing to landfill!
One thing to note if you do use this as a head torch battery, it’s slightly heavier than the original battery but it hasn’t adversely affected the overall balance on my head at least.
Incredibly light and extremely comfortable. Fits very well (although on the slim side). If you want extra room I would suggest going up one size however I prefer the slim fit.

Ortlieb PS490 Heavyweight Dry Bag 22L in Red and Black was delivered in less than 48hrs which was fantastic. I already have a pair of Classic pannier bags 40L and a Rack Pack 24L in the same strong PS 490 material. Although they are all on the upper bracket cost wise, they are more than worth it. They are so strong and having the makers 5 year guarantee makes it all the more worthwhile. They wipe clean and the straps are solid. With most off Ortlieb Roll Top Closure Bags you have to remember the main point is to squeeze the air out before tightly rolling 3 -4 times to make that all important seal so that the contents remain waterproof and dry. It becomes the ‘norm’ after the first couple of times. The insides can be wiped from any damp gear you have thrown in there. I just love their kit!!
This dry bag will be used for a number of tasks but primarily I bought it for kayaking and I was surprised at how much stuff it took.
I will certainly be visiting Facewest again soon.
Thanks.
The Patagonia Beanie Hat in Blue One Size is a great fit and not too heavy. Colours are really good. The only thing I will have to do is remove the washing instruction labels as having a shaved head I know they would start to irritate after a while.
The delivery time was speedy and the Customer Service Lady was most helpful. I would buy from Facewest again. Thanks.

One of the best all round use mats I have had. Great for a bivi on the hill, camping out of a car or even as a mattress for the unexpected overnight visitor at home. If you want one mat for multiple activity l would recommend this one.
Performs exactly as expected, fits well, keeps me warm and dry. Seems very breathable so far. Water forms in little beads on the surface. The wrist fasteners work well. Very lightweight. Two very large pockets at the front work well. The two armpit zips work well. The two pockets at the bottom are perhaps a little awkward. Not sure why they have used two different kinds of zip on the jacket. One sort seems waterproof, the other very waterproof. I would have preferred a separate collar, but it's not possible to find a jacket with EVERYTHING exactly as you want it. As I'm walking along I hear a tap..tap..tap of the various dangly bits tapping the jacket.
I was skeptical about Facewest charging 15% less than other retailers, but I have to say that the service was excellent.

Great fitting jacket - replaced an 8 year old Rab microlite like for like size - I would say better fit across the chest and rides lower at the back.
I'm giving the hat 5 stars on the basis that it hasn't been tested on a mountain in the rain. I always have a challenge trying to find a hat that fits. Big head. Usually it takes a 63cm hat to fit. This fits snugly without being tight in an XL. It feels warm. It would have been great up Ben Lawers about 2 weeks ago in constant rain. That's what drove me to buy. I needed a hat with a small peak. This hat fits the bill.

Only used once so far, but looks like being a great bag. The down came with a certificate showing the actual loft was 800, better than the 750 minimum advertised and the bag was warm and comfortable on Dartmoor with a minimum temp close to zero. With a liner I am fairly confident I will get good 3-season use from this bag.
I also particularly like the cut & proportions that keep the warmth in but give you some wriggle room and don't feel constricting. The ventilation options with the zips are also brilliant, especially for those that 'suffer' from hot feet.
So far a great bag - not the lightest or warmest but light and warm and a great, flexible compromise.
As ever, great price and service from Facewest.
Usual Rab quality construction.
I ordered a medium as that’s my normal size but it was a bit too baggy for my liking so I returned it for a small which is a neater fit yet still gives full movement. The jacket is very warm and great in the wind, and also seems to be fine in light rain. But it’s not that breathable and if you are working hard or walking fast then you will notice this. I read a few reviews prior to buying the jacket so was well aware of this issue. A couple of under arm zip vents would be a great addition.
If your priority is warmth and protection from the elements in a light weight synthetic jacket then it’s a great option.

A great pair of pants, my second pair and wouldn't go for anything else.
As described this is great piece, that I'll use in layering in cooler climates it's meant for cool summer evenings / mornings however I think it will work for me as a comfortable midlayer. It is a smart looking, casual, understated garment. So after hiking in the hills, it affords me an outfit that can be worn out into town under a lightweight wind jacket that doesn't scream tourist / traveler.

Incredibly warm for such a small weight and pack size. This is a replacement for my original down sweater which has been relegated to back up having been repeatedly patched with sailmakers tape.

These are the best winter trousers yet!
I used winter trousers from many brands from Mammut, Mountain Equipment and others but Winter Torque Pants are best made so far. Better than discontinued Rab Defendor pants. Warm, comfortable, robust, breathable, good cut.

Genuine suunto replacement -comes with both straps and replacement pins easy to fit with jewellers screwdrivers but do not drop the end caps as they are small and easily lost.
Have not worn yet but was delved very fast great looking product can't wait to use.

Excellent product, a well known brand that is well put together and fares really well in the wettest of weather.
I was looking for a strap replacement for my Suunto Yachtsman. In fact the case on the Yachtsman is the same as the Xlander and so the strap fits perfectly. Removing the old strap was interesting as there's effectively no clearance to remove the pins. In the end I found the only solution was to cut of the strap! Refitting was slightly tricky but I succeeded and the new strap is excellent.
I really liked the quality and finish of this cardigan, but I then discovered that the sleeves were way too tight, which would have prevented wearing a sweater beneath it.
A pity really, but I suppose Arcteryx do call it a cardigan for the reason that it takes the place of a sweater. In any event it just wasn't for me.
Facewest - amazing service, including the refund. I will certainly use again
This Focus Hoody from Rab is my go to jacket for early morning activities during late spring and early autumn (as well as the summer when it's particularly brisk first thing in the morning).
Perfectly suited for dry, cool conditions, the merino wool is contoured, soft (and cuddly - other halves take note!) and with good warmth, but not overly so.
I really like the decently-sized pockets as well as a well-positioned and sized, Napoleon. The zips are free-running (yet to snag) and the hood might be helmet compatible but it's not nearly as big as other such hoods and that's fine with me - it can easily fit a beanie if required.
Just about smart enough for the odd evening out as well, it's a winner for me, especially as it's easily covered with a light rain jacket if required.
Lightweight is the icing on the cake!

Frankly I was a bit disappointed with this hoody. Whilst comfortable and contoured with a great colour (I got the "zest"), it's not wearing well (fraying around the zips) and really isn't very warm. Not hugely surprising about the warmth though given what it's spun from, but the fleecy interior does suggest it'll be snugger than it is.
It's ended up being a "wear around the house" item and then not during the cooler months either.
Definitely worth the money. Some reviews on other sites say this jacket runs small but I found the fit perfect. I’m usually a 10 in coats to give room for layers and a small fits perfectly.
The jacket is waterproof and Windproof. It’s also light which is perfect for hiking. The longer length at the back adds to the practicality and I like that the zips are designed for water to keep out of the pockets. The rib zips are useful for ventilation. The hood is a decent size and stays up. All in all, very very happy.
As for Facewest... a new discovery for me and really love this company. Ordering was easy, communication efficient and the tracking worked. I’ll order from here again.

Good very sturdy belt easy to fasten top stuff.
Great glove have a few pairs of these.
Service was good no problems.
Excellent Jacket, very light and packable, surprisingly warm considering how light it is. Use this jacket a lot. Already have one of these which has been very well used over the last few years. I wanted an additional/replacement jacket for when the first one finally gives out.
First class service from Facewest, will definitely use again.

Really warm, strong trousers! I work with dogs, own Leonbergers, and these trousers do the job well. I also have Gamma LT trousers, for lighter use. A great make.
Thank you Facewest for great deal’s, fast post, exchanges and super service.
Excellent camp/but bootie. Soft, warm and reasonably rugged. Very true to size and pack away inside a delightful little stuff bag, only weigh 850 grams too
I love Arc’teryx, and have 3 of these and wear them constantly. Want more colours now. Great service. Thank you
A lovely down jacket with a very durable looking outer fabric. It is warm and cosy and has a great fitting cosy hood. The colour is lovely too and is a greyish lilac with a matching trim. It is a close fit on the hip for me but not so much that it’s uncomfortable
Very simple and basic and seem to work OK. However, the hook to connect to the loop on the trousers is pretty poor and slips off every time they're not under tension. A double hook, like those on Lowe alpine packs would have made this much better.

A really nice jacket in a lovely shade of blue. It fits well and is very comfortable. I haven’t had the chance to wear it but I can see it will be really useful as an outer layer on dry cooler autumn days.
Love this jacket. It’s light yet warm and cosy, is well cut and a good fit.
It’s a really useful addition to my outdoor wardrobe as it can be worn as a mid or top layer depending on the weather or is tidy enough to be worn as a general garment. Love it.
More reliable and easier to pack than matches or a lighter.
This tiny product is a real game-changer. It provides a super stable base on uneven ground for your cooking system. It works well with the larger gas canisters, but really shines when teamed with one of the smaller (110g) units.
Had a problem with sunnto all black steaming up in the face.
Ordered new O ring.... easy fit, problem solved!!!
Overall it’s an expensive price for a seal but it is the cheapest on the market.would be great if it included a battery but you can’t have everything. Overall Great service, fast delivery..... recommended!!
Fits well . Great colour. Recommend it

Absolutely beautiful-I love them.
I think I could also possibly just get away wearing them to work with a shirt and tie!
Really quick delivery too.
One minor note though: the product is advertised with a back pocket (the label that comes with the trousers also contains a picture and reference to it on the trousers). There wasn't one on mine! Its a minor advertising point as they really are great clothes.
I am between a 33 and 34 waist and Large fits perfect.
his pains me as I am an Arcteryx fan but I bought this on the understanding that its primary purpose is to keep the wind out while keeping me reasonably dry and cool.
However, the arm holes are so large that any wind from the side would just blow straight in in so i sent it back.
If it only had a snug ruche on the arms it'd be great.
Nice body warmer really happy with it

We have a few items of Outdoor Research clothing and hats in our household. It came as no surprise that the Sombriolet was every bit as well designed and made as those.
It may seem a little "OTT" for UK sunshine, but that is where it will get most if its use. The light weight and ability to fold flat makes it easily transportable. I am sure it will wash well if needed. The very broad brim will protect where sometimes the hats from a well known Canadian maker don't succeed.
Sizing appears spot on. I was able to try one on in a darker colour elsewhere, so I knew it would fit as I am at the upper size of the hat that I bought.
As a frequent hat wearer, I know this one will get plenty of use. I am sure it will offer the protection from the sun I want, and help to keep me cool. Overall a good buy.
Never had a problem with any of my msr gear so felt very at ease buying this stove. I wasn’t wrong! Great bit of kit
great watch, great price and a great service from Facewest.
Ever lighter from THERMAREST. Compared to other mats it is amazingly light. Have used it for 5 nights bothying and backpacking with our golden retriever. I cover the bottom with my sack liner and it has lasted longer than our Alpkit.
It has a nice crinkly feel to it and it packs away neatly but is not as noisy as our other mats. I have got the small to give the dog more room. I did seem to slip of it more easily on a hard bothy floor. Great piece of kit.
I haven't used it yet but seems impressively light while achieving really good functionality.

The Aeros Premium pillow is really very good. Previously I've used Exped's regular version in large and had some good success with it (my review's still visible for those who are interested).
But having tried the Aeros, I do think this is an improvement; if only as the pillow surface is soft to the touch and doesn't actually need to be covered with a fleece (although it'd probably benefit from such, longevity-wise).
Excellent ergonomics, clever valve, stuff sac that actually fits nicely together with instructions on the exterior; carry-handle and sensibly-sized toggle.
Definitely recommended (we prefer the large version - 35g more but far less fiddly during the night as it tends to fit into the entire sleeping-bag hood, rather than moving around).

Just what I was after - something easy fitting without being overly baggy to relax in at camp after a day's walking. Also to use as PJs instead of having to carry around a sleeping-bag liner. Or even as emergency thermals for under my trousers.
You're unlikely to win any fashion competitions as they're not exactly slim-fitting but the material is soft with some warmth. No draw-string or pockets but given that the weight for mine (in medium) was only 160g, that's fine with me!

Not for me I'm afraid.
Ordered the medium as I'm typically around 31 but don't like a tight fit around the waist and my legs are pretty muscular, so although I often get small tops, I tend to move up a size in leggings etc. But the waist-band on these is very snug - weird, as they've also provided a drawstring (to make it even tighter!).
The material isn't soft touch but it's not rough either; the little rear pocket is good for cash or cards; the ankle zips are very clever as it keeps the tights figure-hugging in the lower-leg.
For reference, the weight of the mediums supplied was 257g (without the cardboard tag!)
This looks like an amazing product. I have bought this as a backup water supply for when I compete in the L50 in July, but having suffered the consequences of drinking stream water in the past I think that at this weight it will be an essential part of my emergency kit. A real must for wild camping & saves boiling gallons of water.
I tested these trousers out on Great Gable & Scafell Pike at the weekend. Every kind of weather happened over the day & the trousers performed amazing. They are fully wind resistant, & shower proof. They fit perfect & the tabs at the bottom of the legs are a nice touch. 5/5

Looks very good, mountain pants plus tops are very well designed for the mountainactivities I do, rock climbing and hill walking.
Not used yet, but purchased for a Via Ferrata trip in Italy. There aren't too many 30m ropes about, although there are several by the meter, but without finished ends. Mainly intended for top-roping, so 9.5mm was a compromise as we'll have to carry it a long way too. We don't intend to test its fall characteristics!
Brilliant pack.
Best I have used for ski mountaineering. Light, practical and so easy to use. Skis, axe, even a pair of huge antlers all fit easily. Also really like the stowage system in the top for simple accommodation of ski skins etc.

Great set of hexes, a very useful compliment in any rack. Love this newer version, which has wider holes, making pulling the dyneema sling through to extend it easier.
A really useful item as the MSR Hubba NX has a very thin lightweight groundsheet. The footprint is light and small packed and saves the crud attaching to the tent. Expensive, but worth it in the end.
Great quality genuine item. My previous strap started to break and I made the mistake of ordering a strap from elsewhere, which wasn't genuine. That was sent back and I ordered a genuine one from Facewest. It came with all the nuts and bolts, and loctite. Excellent service, well pleased!
very good all round shoe, work well on all surfaces and very comfortable- could be improved with more rubber on the sole. The uppers on mine are still in good shape but the sole is very thin. sizing is small so go up one. I would buy again.
Brilliant shoes. Very supportive on the feet and true to size.
I had the old Airzone 35 which I loved but the only down side was there were no pockets at the front which is why I got this upgrade as it's got the really handy pockets to the front.I am however a little disappointed with the amount of straps on it it is confusing and doesn't look as sleek and stylish as the old style. It does however have more room and is still comfortable to wear and lightweight.Yet to properly use it so these are my initial observations. If you don't like too many straps this is not the rucksack for you
Super mat! Got the big one as my arms were falling off the other at my height 5 foot 10. Best purchase this year. Get the auto pump though!
My previous one of these finally gave out, ballooning in one area, after 2 DECADES of daily, well nightly really, usage! That's 20 years of sound sleeps both at home and base wild camping. For a hundred quid. £5 a year - not bad eh? As a woodsman my job is hard musculoskeletally and a back injury 20 years ago means that I can no longer sleep on a bed. So I can't really rate this product highly enough, since what price does one put on a good night's sleep?
I looked hard at the £130 (poorly named) Luxury map sleeping mattress but decided against it because my usage is so much that I need to be able to both flip and rotate my sleeping mattress to ensure longevity. And hey, if it ain't broke... What I did do was go for the largest size one, the XL, but in hindsight there was no need. Excellent products, and made in Ireland not China so significantly better for our environment.
I found Facewest's information videos very helpful.
Bought this to add air to a new Thermarest MonoKing 3D mattress. It is very light and simple in operation - really neat idea. However I found it tricky keeping thesac attached to the mattress whilst pumping - the elasticated mouth seemed to get pulled off rather easily.
It took some time to fully 'inflate' on first opening; I guess the manufacturers stuff them and they stay like that for some time? Takes a little bit of getting used to; firm but comfortable with enough 'give' to allow you to sleep on your side. Much better than an airbed. Have not tried stuffing yet!

Straight forward to apply - old credit type card is best because flexibility gives a smooth finish
This is a great mat! Reasonable weight for a full size mat, very well insulated (it's always good to have that extra warmth for peace in mind), very comfortable and surprisingly silent (soft upper material has cotton-like texture). And, of course, built-in pump is a must! No more need to use clumsy pump sacks. You can always cut some grams off your gear, but either you sacrifice your comfort, either you spend a lot of money.
This is right what you need for four season comfort and for acceptable price point. The best mat design so far. Go for it!
Very good jacket. Tried one in a store to know what size to choose but no where to find the color that i wanted except here. Paid +30 euros for faster delivery but kinda pointless when i live in Finland. All good tho!

Fantastic tent, I have three 'rucksack' tents and this is by far the best. Lightweight yet roomy enough to sit up in and a large vestibule for dirty boots etc. Nicely designed all-round, including the alloy tent poles which click together as if magnetic and you can erect this tent in about 5 minutes. When laying down, the roomy arched shape ensures your head is not mere centimeters from the inner fabric (unlike other rather claustrophobic, low-profile options). I am smitten!
First time ski-touring in the Alps. This bag was exactly what I was after - very light weight but with all the necessary attachments/compartments to make it practical for carriage of skis, ice axe, emergency kit etc. Only negative would be the robustness of the outer - the base is already cut full-thickness (presumably from a ski edge or sharp rock) and will need patching.

First time ski-touring properly in the Alps. Very pleased with this purchase - well manufactured and did exactly what I wanted it to. Only negative would be the price of the brand - I would have been disappointed had I had to spend the original price for this jacket as I can't see it's any different to cheaper options.

Awesome light weight and well vented helmet for ski touring/ski mountaineering. Plenty comfortable enough for skinning/boot packing up and reassuring both up and down.
A MIPS variant, like the Mammut Wall Rider, is the only feature I think is slightly lacking.

well thank you. everything is fine mat is Perfect. know your products is 5 *
Exactly as expected. Have other Leatherman's so wasn't to surprised by the quality.
Although I know this ground cloth to be waterproof, it would have been helpful to know how waterproof? Otherwise I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

The service from Facewest was rapid and efficient. The crampons are perfect for my needs (ski touring) - lightweight, compact and yet rugged enough to serve their purpose.
Great product except for the white product labels sown into the seam. So visible...you don't want them here, so why have them? Very difficult to remove without damaging the product..
Thought this a tad expensive at first, especially when compared to my RAB Borealis windproof, but soon changed my mind. A super light jacket, and therefore very small when packed away. Totally windproof but very breathable so no condensation when exercising. Used mine for cycling and running and so impressed bought another for hiking.
Only minor downside is that it only has one small chest pocket.

I used these on a 10 day ski tour, fitted my size 46 (30) ski boots with no problems. Worked on hard snow but balled up baldly in soft snow there is a anti balling plate available which one of the party had and he had no issues.
Very small pack size, I put my ski crampons in the same bag and it was still half the size of my old AL crampons.

I bought this cup for use on races where disposable cups are not allowed and also for drinking from springs and streams. It's a simple idea, just a plastic pocket that you can fold and then stash in a belt or vest. You just squeeze the rim to open and the fill with water. The tab on the side of the rim stops you dropping the cup when it has the weight of water in it. I only fill it half full as I'm likely to spill it otherwise.
A little pricey for what it is but I trust OMM products and I expect this will last some time.
Excellent product. Can't understand why these are not available in Australia.
I bought the 30L version of this for myself a while ago, and after my husband borrowed it I feared that I would lose it, so got him the 40L one. They are a fantastic pack and have been used for hiking, ski touring and general use in all conditions. Its a functional well-made bag with the right amount of pockets and we love the easy side access. We haven't used them to carry skis with yet, but both carrying options look good. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

As always Hestra don't disappoint.this is a perfectly fitting glove to say the least.Great protection, yet warm enough, windproof and mostly snow proof, and thin enough to feel the grip on ski poles really well.Much better than conventional thicker gloves. All ski gloves should be like these for sure.I have now been using these for 5-6years.

After thorough on-line research of spec, reviews & Youtube, I decided Dakine was the best for me. I have other Dakine bags and gear. Their kit is always well designed and strong with a lot of attention to technical detail from the user perspective.
Good pocket size & placement. Very good straps for carrying board or skis. Retractable helmet net. Tall enough to get shovel, probe & Z ski poles inside the bag so nothing has to be outside. The side pocket is ideal for a bottle. Compression straps tighten beyond the zips so as not to stress the zips - something that worried me with the Ortovox bags.
I purchased the 26L and 36L RAS Poachers so that I could trial pack them both with full BC touring & split board kit and also compare the compressed size when empty. The compression is so good that the compacted sizes are almost the same so I kept the 36L bag and returned the 26L (Great service Facewest.) Note that Dakine is generous and 36L means more than 36L usable volume unlike some other brands which are smaller and include the gas and airbag in their quoted sizes. The right shoulder strap has protected zip pocket for hydration tube and/or radio. Some other brands don't have this.
A couple of limitations to note:
(1) the back protector (optional extra) fits into the water bladder pocket so not much space left for water
(2) the tube routing is tight to fit each morning and fully opening the main pocket bends the tube back. Also, I once left the zips in the wrong position (i.e. the middle of the top) and they opened themselves when I had a few tumbles.
Other guys in my group have other brands and the view is than the Dakine is the best kit.

These are very good gloves. This is my second pair. They take a bit of getting used to. They are heavily fluffed up inside and therefore feel a bit undersized but once they have had 5 hours on they get comfy. Very happy with them.
Very good value and from facewest very good service

I spent a lot of time researching this purchase and I was very happy with this choice on the first time out. Super comfy, warm and quick to inflate. If like me you move around a lot whilst you sleep the rectangular mat makes lots of sense, I stay on this may without being woken with cold feet/ lower legs after slipping off the mat. The weight ain't bad also for its size/ warmth rating.
Looking forward to giving it a more demanding test in colder weather but initially I'm super pleased :-) Oh and the schnozle thingy bag inflation system is brilliant.
It's the usual from Arcteryx in terms of quality of construction and design.I decided to go for a Medium and it's a little bit short on the sleeves and body (I'm 6'4 and 90kg) but I can live with it as I think a large would be a bit too big even in a trim fit. What this means is it's a close fit and the stretch fabric works very well. It's also warm enough as a mid-layer and I can pair it with an outer given the fit.It seems to be good on its own for me down to around 2 degrees, depending how active I am, and I haven't tried it below that.

This is the third Covert Hoody that I've bought. They're that good. Living somewhere between softshell, fleece and knitted cardigan, the clever Arc'teryx bods have invented a garment that's warm, stylish and eminently comfortable for everyday wear.
Made from Arc'teryx's Alpenex heathered fleece, the inside has a brushed polyester fabric and the outside looks like close knit wool, but without the sag. The cut and sizing are true, and the hood comes in handy on colder days (there is a hoodless version with a high collar)

Like your favourite jeans, just more comfy. Only used them for travelling/downtime in Alps. Can believe you could climb/boulder with them but not my reason for purchase.
Dark colour hides any 'grubbiness' really well. Lightweight but tough. Dry quickly as well.

Fantastic glove for ski touring. Not 'very' warm so have a OR shell mitten that I put over them in cold weather or if carrying axe in cold weather. Recent 8 days touring in good weather meant they were sufficient for 90% of time, particularly when working uphill.
Very dextrous - no problems making transitions with skins on/off or doing boots up. Appear to have moulded to my hands very quickly.

Excellent, warm, tough. Reasonably dextrous. Very well made. Good price from Facewest.
Bought to replace 20yr old OR ski/touring gloves (strangely not very warm as held together by duct tape). Excellent in very cold recent weather at La Grave. Bit bulky for ski touring unless expecting particularly cold weather.

I like these cheat sheets. They have a firm feel which makes them easy to handle. I also appreciate that they are black, as white ones areeasy to miss in the snow at the point that they are removed from the skins. So far, I have only applied them to my skins for storage until next season, but theyseem like a good product.
They were delivered by the Post Office earlier than expected but I had checked in advance that they would be able to be posted.
Mounted these bindings to Rossignol Sky 7 HD skis and have been using them the whole ski season (with Scarpa Maestrale RS boots). Obviously not the lightest touring binding around, but their downhill performance (they ski like an alpine binding) more than makes up for the little extra work needed to go uphill.
I don't do long tours, but can't foresee a problem with the weight if I did. Easy to use and solidly built; to my mind, the best crossover touring/free skiing binding around. Pleased with the investment (they are not cheap).
Usual quality suunto product at a good price and great delivery from facewest, as a bonus my new suunto traverse watch came with spring loaded pins so it was an easy exchange for the existing strap and no need to cut of the existing strap and pins.
Seems to stick in effectively in various placements, inc iced cracks. Also so light - better than some smooth sided Hex's that I also use in winter.
Having made do with DIY rests for a few years, these are awesomely secure. I have fixed mine in (on some DMM Flys) but the slidability on Petzls could be useful.
Bought poles for downhill skiing & touring. Robust design that works.Adjustment worked well - easy to use and no slippage. Recommended.

I spend a lot of time in the mountains and often wild camp up there too. To be honest I wasn't over concerned about the 'dry' aspect of the dry bag as all of the contents in my rucksack are already inside a large dry bag and if it's chucking it down I put the cover on my sack too.
I bought a number of Exped dry bags in the primary colours for ease of identification of my kit and to save faffing about when I'm looking for something, and for this the work extremely well and I highly recommend them. I've got one for stove & food, one for warm, dry clothing, one for wash kit, etc., etc. You might think this is a bit of a pointless review of a 'dry bag' as I'm not able to tell you if it is, or isn't. However, if like me you are looking to organise your kit then you need look no further. Who knows, they may even be waterproof too!
Easy to cut to size and makes the skins much easier to handle. Very pleased I bought these.
Really pleased with this. Very easy to use and now the skins appear to be good as new.

Just finished a week with this pack, and don't have anything bad to say. So many options for external carrying equipment, not heavy but substantial enough construction, comfortable on the back, and skis well.
Good size for day out with skins, ski and boot crampons, drink, extra layer, avy gear... Oh yes, and delivered incredibly quickly.
These ski crampons did their job. In a group of tourers all wearing crampons, these were some of the best.
Benefits:
They stay on the ski - therefore if you hit compact snow, you can flip them down and march straight on through.
They have a left and right, so the outer ski grips the snow, but the inner ski doesn't catch on the other foot (need to remember to put them round the right way!)
They fit well, are sturdy and gripped the snow well.
Drawbacks:
They can become frozen in position - so moving them isn't as simple as you initially hope.
They can cause (small) damage to other equipment from the upturned spikes when skiing/hiking.
Perfect volume for a pair of skins and easy to apply.
Sticky, but not too sticky that you require cheat sheets, simply store skin to skin
I bought a pair of these as part of converting the majority of my clothes to Arc'teryx. If it helps, I have a 32 inch waist and initially bought medium. I thought it wasn't tight enough for me and returned it for small which was perfect despite the minute size difference (by overlaying them).
I've worn them in temperatures down to 0C with normal trousers/jeans and felt they noticeably held the cold/draft at bay which was perfect!

This is my second Smartwool neck gaiter. The gaiter is extremely comfortable and impressively keeps my next warm and the wind out. I use it when riding a motorbike and it performs perfectly with any wind chill, even in the winter months.

This is a great addition to your winter rack, with razor sharp teeth, minimal weight on the rack and effortless screw mechanism with the flip out handle.
It's a great piece of engineering. I'll opt for a longer one for crevasse rescue/ski tour use as this could still be a lot lighter than other screws of shorter length, and you might as well go for extra security at reduced weight. On the down side.... well... I couldn't find any. As ever BD strike gold.
Came in last week. Nice original product, meets all my expectations. Easy to install as well. Make sure to have a tiny flathead screwdriver nearby (preferably two). Seems a little more rugged than the original strap that came with my Suunto. 5/5 would recommend.
I bought these as a dual purpose skiing/hiking pole. I was very dissapointed when the bottom sectionsheared after 10 weeks skiing and one week walking.
Feels very comfortable as a cot. But it's not suitable for backpacking or a one person tent. To put it together you need to have the fabric outstretched and to stand on it to attach the bows. It is impossible to do this kneeling or inside a tent; to dismantle is really hard and the first time one of the feet broke and the fabric tore (its very flimsy). Sadly if hiking in the UK this would be pretty useless as it would not be practical putting up in wet conditions where you have to turn the cot sleep-side down to construct.
I bought a pair since everyone seems to love theirs. I don't get the hype. They are ok, sizes run small though, and not optimal for my hands. The size that fits my hands best is M, but the gloves are so short that the elastic hem ends too low on my wrist. To be able to pull them high enough I would need L, but then the gloves are too lose.
I have had mine for 2 years now, and although they work just fine, the inner lining is worn out, and full of holes. It takes some fiddling around when putting the gloves on, since some fingers get stuck in the lining. And I have not even used them for any rope work, just civilian use while walking the dog, shoveling snow outside my house etc.So overall, I like my pair but I'm not very impressed by the quality.
They look really nice, though, and the price is right. Will probably just buy another pair!
Just back from Finnsmarkvidda in the north of Norway after a week of skiingand camping out. Nighttime temperatures dropped to -30C on a couple of nights but I was always warm and toasty in this sleeping bag, combined with the Mountain Equipment Down 7 sleeping mat. Combination of cooking in the tent porch and breathing means there'sa lot of frozen condensation in the tent, so the bag inevitably gets a bit damp, but there was no loss of warmth.
It compares very well to the Mammut Denali bags that I have hired, both in performance and price. Only downside is the size of it, even when in the stuff sac, which is about 70l. So, fine for a basecamp or on a pulk system but no good for backpacking. Comes in a nice storage bag as well as the stuff sac.
Overall, very pleased with it.
And usual speedy service from Facewest, too!

Excellent product. I already have one and bought this for a friend as he used mine and loved it. Excellent 100% merino wool neck gaiter. Arrived promptly and nice follow up from Facewest. Haven't purchased from them before but wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

These are the most comfortable jeans I have ever bought. They are not too heavy but they are really hard wearing. I rate them so highly that I will be buying another pair.

I bought these for a trip to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco as I did not want the weight of a full boot given the easier trekking there.
They proved to be absolutely ideal - light, comfortable and with a good grip. They also look well built so should last a bit longer than my other approach shoes have.
Even better was that they look good enough to go to a halfway decent restaurant without too many sideways looks!Great price and first class shoe.
Great pack for off and on piste skiing. Used it for the dreaded Arete on Valle Blanche and rest of trip.
Excellent top compartment for goggles and 2 way main pack allowed easy access even when skis loaded ,can fit A frame or diagonal.

Yes, very expensive for what it is. But at least it prevents your ski crampons from slicing up the contents of your backpack.
This is an alternative to a ski brake and includes a plastic heal step to be screwed to the rear binding in place of the ski brake. (Of course, you could have a brake as well and discard this heal step). The front attachment includes a loop of wire that goes under the front binding - so you have to attach this when mounting the bindings. You can't really retrofit. The wire loops for attaching the leash to the front binding are rather stiff and somewhat difficult to assemble.
My reason for purchase is that the Vipec toe piece can release in uphill mode if you fall forward when skinning. You are then in danger of loosing the ski as the brakes will be locked up. In addition the rear brakes on the Vipec can get stuck up when changing from walk to ski mode - at least on my 2nd gen Vipecs. Again, a danger of loosing a ski during transition. This leash does the job of extra protection, though some may prefer a home-brew solution.
Excellent service from Facewest, skins arrived very promptly. Skins pre-cut to length for a range of ski lengths is an excellent idea. Supple and light, excellent in use and don't soak up much moisture in wet snow.
Loses two stars though for the shoddy and woefully under-powered cutting tool! This broke after cutting the first skin to shape. About time Black Diamond gave a bit more thought to the design of this, or at least supply one that lasts longer than two cuts. G3 cutting tool is a lot easier to use and more substantial. Overall, good skins as usual from BD, but let down by this detail.
Great beanie, looks good and keeps your head warm. That together with a great price.....what's not to like.

I bought these to replace a similar all leather Dakine glove that developed a cut from carrying skis but had given great service for 6 seasons.
If you like a shorter glove that fits under the cuff of your ski jacket, then these are the ones to get. The stitching is good and the leather hard wearing but soft. The gloves have a velcro wrist closure which my earlier version did not have, (making it easier to get on and off) and a small loop inside the cuff which ideal for adding a wrist loop if needed. The Pimaloft insulation in the glove means they are a warm glove but to be honest that didn't get a fair test as the weather was so warm the week we skied. The wool lining is warm and is fixed securely inside the leather outer so does not pull out if your hands perspire, as has happened with other expensive gloves in Spring skiing conditions. The glove comes with a sachet of wax to further add o the waterproofing.
A great looking, hard wearing glove and well worth the price tag.

Experienced back country/ski mountaineer.
Just used them for a 3 day trip in the Alps, all touring, significant ascent and descent.
Great poles, light, adjustable (look for the little widget wheel to set tightness, otherwise they might slide).
Only drawback is the baskets are quite floppy which made binding adjustments on the go (while ascending) a little difficult.
Great skins. Do exactly what they should.
The featherlight down jacket is a very lightweight jacket you don't even realise you have it on.
I am 5' 8 and 11 stone and the mediumIs a good fit with room for a couple of layers underneath.I have tried it at around 5 degrees and it's nice and warm, but yet to try itaround freezing, but can't see it should be any problem. The hood is very well thought out and adjusts to keep you really warm.
This is a great addition if you want a lightweight cold weather jacket.

Great gloves for warm-ish weather alpine climbing. They're fairly thin, so very sensitive and agile for placing protection and any other fidly tasks.
The fabric is not waterproof, but does an excellent job protecting from wind and mild snow / rain. Insulation is on the thin side, so they're perfect for warm-ish winter days (around 0) or for summer alpine climbing.

Silky feel is comfortable to wear. I don't find the finger seams intrusive as I have with thicker powerstretch gloves, though these won't be as warm. Slide nicely and easily into my waterproof gloves and, whilst not yet tested to extremes, seem to make the gloves considerably warmer.
They do exactly what I wanted them to do well.

Very comfortable. Haven't tested it in rain or snow yet though. Nice features and I like that the hood is big enough to fit a helmet. I'd say fit is slightly on the small side, in particular across the chest.

Purchased for my 6ft son to ensure he has a mat ready for a hiking trip through Peru. The shop suggested buying the extra long, wider mat and their advice was really appreciated.
I have only seen my son inflate and deflate this once, but it looks like a very good piece of kit. I am so glad l rang as this is just about long enough and if l had purchased an average length mat l think he would have found it too small.
I will be returning to purchase more kit for him in the future.
Sleeping mat seems very comfortable- have yet to use whilst camping. Bought for wild camping in Scotland to remove the worry of getting a puncture in my inflatable sleeping mat.
As I will be multi-day back packing have cut 2 sections off to be used in the day as a sit mat and can then just put beneath feet during the night. Mat is bulky but hopefully will not be too annoying whilst walking and is lighter than the inflatable one. Also quite nice to sit on the folded up block whilst cooking as it can act like a low seat.

I wild camp and needed a lightweight but very non stick frying pan after I managed to lose my last one, which to be fair wasn't much good.
This arrived quickly and is actually brilliant! The non stick is genuinely good. It's well put together, light and large enough to fry a steak so I'm happy.
Brilliant product, they do exactly what they're meant to, great service from Facewest too.
Brilliant product! Has put back into use an old headlamp.Great company too with good communication and super fast delivery!
I was looking for some XC leather gloves as I was getting a bit feed up of wearing ordinary fleece gloves out between thumb and palm. These were the only ones I found in the UK.
Nice gloves well made and look like they could last a while. My only criticism is the sizes are on the small size. I have size 10 but they're still a bit small for me and these are the biggest they do. I'M hoping they'll stretch a bit but for the price you'd think they could make something that actually fitted.
Now I have them the weather's turned wet and mild stripping away the snow cover up here in the Highlands. So, I don't know when I will actually get to try them out. Hopefully soon.

The Rab Hut slippers are a great bit of kit. They pack down relatively well - maybe not as small as very lightweight hut slippers / booties but the upside is that you get a fairly resilient sole and a strong material around the sides which is something worth considering.
I would say the sizing is about right, possibly slightly on the small side. So for example if your feet are definitely size 10s, you may want to consider going up a size from the recommended large, but it's a close call. My feet are 9.5 and they are snug. I've got fairly wide feet and they work well.
In terms of insulation they work pretty well and are pretty warm and of course synthetic so moisture less of an issue than down. Obviously in very cold environments you'd want something more and with more covering. These would work well as hut slippers, in a tent or even around the home!

I climb mostly indoors with outdoor trips as and when weather allows. I really like this device, it's easy to use and brakes well if needed. Lightweight too. Best when used with a bigger screw gate carabiner rather than a normal size one.
My wife's trusty Silva Expedition compass got us both out of a tricky situation in Cross Fell two weeks ago. My Bruton universal compass which we use for Arctic ski touring lets us down badly. It was dark, windy and knee deep snow. So I took bearings with the Bruton on the stone pillars to the summit. Within 100m I realized we had a problem. When you took the bearing you drop the compass onto its lanyard..BUT the compass housing moved by between 4 to 6 degrees.
Luckily my wife had her compass in her sack and for the next 90min we used it to safely navigate to a comfortable night at Gregs Hut.It's a simple reliable useable compass. Will be binning the Bruton.
Really great poles haven't had a chance to use them on the mountain yet but seem like great quality metal and easy collapsible mechanism.
good quality battery tray adapter at a great price well packaged and arrived super fast
Fantastic service as usual from Facewest.
I've worn this jacket pretty much every day since receiving it (5 weeks ago) and am very happy with it.It hasn't been tested in extreme temperatures but has been worn in anything from +8C to -3C.The insulation is top notch - I've never been too hot or too cold, always just right. The jacket is windproof and the hood is also fantastic when it is particularly windy. The hood is removable which is another plus point and removes some of the bulk when not required. It is close fitting, which is what I wanted and my initial concerns about the blue being too bright were soon put to rest - the colour is great and I also love the contrasting orange interior.
My only criticism mirrors that of others - for a premium jacket, the zip is of relatively poor quality. This doesn't detract from the fact that this jacket is now always my first choice for dry, cold and breezy conditions.

Having recently purchased a set of Kahtoola MicroSpikes I got the chance to use them on Lake District fells for the first time this week. They are provide excellent grip on snow and ice covered paths, even when walking over exposed rock. They are also excellent when walking do steep and wet grassy banks, which you find often when descending the lower sections of Lakeland Fells.
Excellent jacket, comes up a little short than my previous down jacket from Patagonia but the fit and warmth are on another level. Service from Facewest was second to none, next day delivery was met every time and a faultless returns and same day refund process when I needed to check my size. 5 stars, thank you.

Nice Jacket the hood is helmet compatible (just) its warm and light, the fit is a bit on the big side (I think AR is marketing speak for will fit Americans) I'm 185cm & 90 Kg and have the XL, it fits well in the arms but the body is a bit oversized. The DWR is very good, but I have not washed the jacket yet.

Fantastic. Usd on snow, compressed snow, ice and black ice. Absolutely fantastic. Well made and stay on my boots perfectly. Wish I'd bought them sooner.
Have one of these hats already new one is a bit thinner but still love it. First time I've bought from facewest but great service no prob.

A value for money pair of adjustable ski touring poles. Light weight with a reliable licking mechanism. Highly recommended.

Good replacement for the original headband on my Tikka Plus, although a pity the original design is no longer available. One bonus however was that I was able to devise a method of deploying the additional top strap supplied with the replacement, which did not feature on the original. Do take careful note of the route the strap takes through the various clips before removing the original though.
I purchased this bag in after being caught in a small avalanche and have used this for regular lightweight touring (day trips only) as well as off piste / heli days over the last 3 years.I think I have the 2.0 model, not the present 3.0 model but I wouldn`t know the difference and recently I looked at the current model in the Mammut shop in Zurich and couldn`t spot the difference. Pls be aware I`ve never fired this in anger, so to speak, so I can`t speak to the airbag performance / protection.
First of all I can say that paired with the carbon cartridge, this is incredibly light.I have mixed feeling about the overall package; for a seriously lightweight airbag this is the business.
There is enough space in the bag for avi kit, spot/inreach, spare gloves, first aid kit and perhaps a spare gillet. The small padding at the back does a good job of giving some protection against uneven contents. The metal buckle for the waist/leg loop works incredibly well, even with the thickest gloves it is easy to attached with one hand I'm always impressed with this. On that topic, I would have preferred a larger clip for the chest strap. Ice Axe attachment and ski attachment is not the best - the attachment is based around a strap connected by a plastic clip (I think it broke within a month's use), which is just too flimsy. As a result, I carry skis and axe under the shoulder straps.
Onthe topic of safety, the trigger/handle easily packs away, is in a good place on the left shoulder. The airbag itself it kept in place by some buckles internally (these seem to work well) and is kept away from the outside elements by a zip on the top of the bag, this zip is designed to open when the bag is triggered and is designed to stay closed in normal usage by a bit of Velcro (doesn't work, the zip opens every time, all the time not a problem, but still).
The shovel is packed towards the rear of the bag inside, furthest from the entrance. The shovel handle and probe on the side, of the bag, opposite side to the canister.Accessing the contents of the bag is a phaff, its rear access only the good news is that the bag hook (similar to a coat hook) is large and you can secure the bag on the hill with a pole / axe whilst you get access to the bag.Given the access phaff, I almost always partner this bag with a waist bag for hydration/food. The material for the bag is super lightweight and not waterproof - you need to wrap anything you need to keep dry.
Conclusion, for what it is designed for it does a great job.On days where you don`t need the weight saving, I have found it too much of a compromise. For example, if you need to test the snowpack, un-packing the shovel means removing everything and that is not ideal in mountain environments.I have recently purchased the Mammut Pro Protection 35l for more all round usage.

I bought these because was I looking for an alternative to my usual Ronhills-plus-thermals that would be equally flexible and comfortable.A quick Google search overwhelmingly recommended this product. As I am between a 10/12, I ordered 12, but was surprised to find them slightly loose, so I returned them and ordered 10s which were a good fit. So if in doubt, size down.
These leggings are extremely comfortable and warm, the fabric being of a good thickness and weight as you would expect for the price. The inside of the fabric is soft and fleecy and lovely to wear.So far I have only tested them on a short day out in The Malvern Hills, but it was a cold, persistently drizzly and very windy January day and I was impressed with how they performed. The drizzle did not seep into the fabric and my legs were always warm and cosy. I'm pretty sure that I have found a new favourite piece of kit!
I was also impressed with the competitive pricing, prompt delivery and quick refund on the pair I returned.

As with all Leatherman Products, this is a superb piece of kit. It happily withstands considerable abuse doing jobs that should not be reasonable expected of it. Additionally it was delivered on time as promised. 5 stars all round.
A great transceiver
Pros -
- Very intuitive to use.
- The transceiver guides you aurally and visually onto the sending unit.
- Picks up a signal very quickly and a good range.
- Whilst training with this transceiver I had a disproportionate number of first strikes with the probe compared to others using different brands of transceiver, this was even with transceivers buried up to 1.25m deep.
Cons -
- The harness initially appears great, but unfortunately the lanyard has a habit of getting in the way and preventing the security strap being fastened. not a deal breaker but it requires attention until it becomes habit.
- The transceivers great range can cause problems, during transceiver training we noted that the barryvox would pick up signals that nobody else could. and on occasion it would pick up ghost signals (Possibly theremnants of signal from people in the group switching from send to search??).
- The barrybox processors don't seem quite up to managing marked transceivers and searching for others. whilst conducting range checks marking checked transceivers would reduce the searching range to the point the third transceiver wasn't picked up. (I'm sure this is something that will be fixed in the next update.)
Overall a good intuitive transceiver, its easy to use, aesthetically pleasing and above all works! it does have its faults, but doesn't everything!
Spot on. A good snug fit on my DMM Cirque so would recommend for that.I'd guess it would similarly fit most makes.
I'm really impressed by Vapour-rise Guide Jacket. It's warm and cool when more active. It's also very quick drying after rain and snow. Little bit of a heavy jacket but it is very durable. Top piece of gear and breathable. The hood and pockets need some improvement. I think it is outstanding.

All gloves and mitts should have these. After I added these to all my gloves I no longer have to chase gloves when it gets windy or climb back into the crevasse to pick them up. Easy to use and easy to switch from one pair of gloves to another.
No minuses.

Very good value and well made beanie hat.Breathability is as you would expect, and the design is bold enough to stand out but subtle enough to be stylish.

I am very pleased with the sweater jacket which is effectively a high spec fleece that should last for a very long time. I was tired of cheaper and often inferior fleeces so I was right to buy a forever fleece!I live by the coast in North East Scotland, and this does the job just fine.

I purchased two pairs, one for me and one for my wife as we live in the Lake District and walk the fells in all seasons. The original idea was to have them for the snow and ice when crampons would be overkill. We had them in our rucksacks the other day when there was no snow or ice, however we were tackling a steep ascent and descent on wet grass. From experience we know that this type of terrain underfoot can easily leave you on your backside so we put our microspikes on. They were fantastic. They transformed our boots from family saloons into Landrovers. I can't recommend them highly enough. They will stay in our rucksacks all year round now that we realise their potential on wet surfaces as believe it or not, we sometimes get rain in the Lake District!
This is a wonderfully light, warm jacket. Suits my husbands needs perfectly. Plenty of pockets and not bulky at all. When looking for a jacket he found so many that were overly large, but not this one. The fitting of the hood is excellent and does not move once in place. A good length even though he is tall, sleeves are a good fit. Perfect, could not have wished for more. Good price from Facewest and definitely worth buying.

A good length even though he is tall, sleeves are a good fit. Perfect, could not have wished for more. Good price from Facewest and definitely worth buying.
