The Nalgene Wide Mouth Bottle is a useful and versatile bottle made from super-tough Tritan Copolyester. The wide mouth makes cleaning easy and also allows use of the bottle for drinks, ice, soups, stews and leftover food. The 63mm opening will also screw onto MSR and other water filter systems.

I have used this daily for a few weeks now. No taste of plastic, withstands lots of knocks, and clearly lets you know how much you've had at a glance. On the down side, the cap is attached to the bottle in such a way that the crinkly edge of the cap is breaking the retaining strap. Not a problem unless you lose the cap (eg on amultipitch climb), but a design fault all the same.

Works well as a water bottle with no plastic taste and fills well from mountain streams. With a wide top I personally use mine mainly as a waterproof container. Perfect for canoeing and canyoning. It provides a robust and lightweight container for a small mobile phone, GPS and car key. You can also put a first aid kit in it or spare clothing such as Helly Hanson top or towel. The loop provides a point of secure attachment should you need it.

Great bottle from Nalgene. I was not a fan of wide-mouthed bottles until I used a Sigg in winter conditions in February 2010; the wider mouth on the Nalgene prevents against it freezing tight. Otherwise, this bottle does the job well - tough, light, versatile. Of course, it won't do your image any harm either - beloved of American students and preppy types

I've got one of these, and a narrow mouth bottle as well. The wide is handier: easier to fill with water, easier to drink from - you can take big swigs, and it's more like drinking from a glass than a bottle - and it is less likely for the cap to freeze solid. You can also put stuff other than water in it - food as well as socks, phones etc that you want to keep safe and dry. The bottle is pretty bombproof. You could also, should you find yourself bursting on a cold and rainy wet and unwilling to leave the tent, use it to pee in. Just don't drink it in the morning.

Nalgene always work well, from the mini bottles to store food and the wide mouth big bottles to mix hydration powders in. They are really tough and do not contain bpa's.

A classic design, and very durable. I've had mine for years, rammed into an overloaded rucksack full of climbing hardware! The Nalgene is scratched to bits, but still going strong, unlike a succession of hydration bladders which have burst. The wide mouth makes it quick to fill, and easy to clean, but not so easy to drink from. The 'Nalgene Easy Sipper' is a good addition to making drinking much easier. Nick Smith, UKClimbing. com

Dont know what I would now do without one. Very durable and fits perfectly in the pouch on the Dakine Heli Pack. Only slight problem is I have poured water all over myself with the wide mouth on this bottle. But I cant really blame it all on the flaskFacewest note; To prevent pouring water down your front consider a Nalgene Easy Sipper.

I bought this bottle to use when I was walking in Spain as I'd had lost my Camelbak. It was a lot more use full than just using it as a drinking container on the bus journey down. The wide neck feature came in very handy as it was a while to the next service station. So I think this product should be part of everyone's kit

If you're struggling to find a drinking bottle that holds water can and can take a battering then the Nalgene bottle is perfect. I've had mine for 3 years and it is scratched but that's it, the bottle is indestructible. The only issue is in a car taking a drink can sometimes be difficult with the wide opening but what a bottle. It works well as a hot water bottle in the night in your bivi. It's such a well known bottle and the other good things for a bottle with such a big opening is as watertight first aid kit or anything else. Such a good feature.

I decided to purchase this after I read reviews about this bottle. In fact I went onto the Nalgene website and was quite impressed with their designs and the durability of it. This bottle is easy to drink from, have used hot and cold drink in it and is excellent. This bottle is always with me, walking, at work and home. A must buy if you want a quality product that will last you years!
