    Description

The Kahtoola KTS Hiking Crampon are ideal for hiking in the mountains where snow and ice or even glaciers and going to be navigated. These are not technical mountaineering crampons they are lightweight crampons with flex allowing them to be used with a flexible boot as opposed to a stiff mountaineering boot. This allows for quicker and much more comfortable walking as the centre bar has flex.

The spike units are made from 4130 Chromoly steel, strong durable and light. Each spike is just over 2.5cm long providing superb traction on glacial ice. The attachment straps can be adjusted to suit your foot as can the length via the flex bar. An excellent choice for British or Alpine walking and trekking.

The Kahtoola KTS Hiking Crampons come with Snow release skins. These prevent snow from building up on the base. When "snowballs" build up traction will reduce and weight increase making walking hard work. With the SRS pulled on over the crampon spikes movement will once again become a lot easier. Especially good in mushy spring conditions.

Very please with this versatile crampon. It will fit my snow board boots, I thought that a long shot, walking boots which won't take my climbing crampon and possibly it may work as a contingency for snow fields on high trail runs. If you want it for snowboard boots get the crampon 2 sizes up from boot size.
