    Full Description

The Hennessey Expedition Asym Hammock is more than just a hammock, it is a complete ultralight shelter and hammock rolled into one.

The Expedition Asym is designed for people under 110kg and under 6ft tall. If you need the bigger one then look at the Explorer Asym.

The Expedition Asym Hammock has an asymmetrical shape, providing instant comfort over rocky, wet or sloping terrain as well as protection from the sun, wind, rain and insects. The Expedition Asym is shaped to keep you back straight and level when lying down.

Our Hennessey Hammocks come with a choice of two closures. First is the classic double flap base set up - enter through the bottom of the hammock and it closes automatically once you're inside giving an insect free and water-proof sleeping environment. Second is the more compact and lower profile zipped side opening. Easier to get into but harder to keep the bugs out as you zip it shut. The weights and pack size are the same for both so which you choose is down to personal preference.

Can't speak highly enough of the Hennessy. Superb Quality construction, Lighter than a lot of tents and a hell of a lot more comfortable. The Asym means I can sleep comfortably even on my side diagonally across the hammock. On all but the warmest nights a matt or an under-quilt is a must though!

I really love this hammock. In fact I've barely even looked at my tent since I bought it! It's the comfiest way to camp and I sometimes I come home more rested than before I left which is really unusual for me! I get no aches and pains due to no pressure on my hips and no rocks sticking into my back. The flysheet didn't seem that big, but it has kept me dry so far. The sound of the rain on the fly is very relaxing, and I often find myself happily laying there just listening to it before drifting off to sleep. My only regret is that I wish I had bought the larger version. (the explorer) Not that it's not a decent sized hammock, but there is hardly any room to get any of my gear inside with me. As a previous reviewer mentioned, this shouldn't matter when you're in remote locations, but I still can't help but feel like I'm asking for trouble by leaving my stuff exposed and easily stolen on the floor. Especially as some of my camping equipment is my pride and joy!

Top notch gear this. Lightweight all in one system. Sets up in about 3 minutes. Additional items that I bought. A reflective roll blanket, a warm sleeping bag, snake skins and a rigging setup ( a climbing carrabiner and 2 rappel rings for each end. Check YouTube for tutorials). Good build quality. Well worth the price

Already had the old style bottom entrance Velcro version but wanted to use an under quilt so upgraded to the side zipped entry version - for à "šÃ‚£5 extra its a no brainer. As usual, the hammock is well made with great features. Very roomy inside and the sliding double pocket and gear clips on the internal ridge line make storing glasses, torch, etc. easy to keep essential to hand. The integral bug net is excellent and does help to reduce wind chill, and can be flipped back in good weather to watch the sunrise. The canted sleeping angle gives much flatter lay and means you can use a pad inside the hammock much more easily - presume this is what the two shock corded clips are for. . . Packs down quite small and is pretty light considering its a complete system with bug net, fly, ropes and tree huggers although these seem shorter than the ones that cam with my old set up a number of years ago. Only downside was the fly suspension points were inside the living space so need to work out how to gimmick them out.
