Black Diamond Liquid White Gold is billed by Black Diamond as an alternative to powder chalk. It is also frequently used along with powder chalk, especially in the warmer more humid months. Apply the Liquid gold to your palms and fingers and leave to dry for a few moments before you start to climb, then use regular chalk to top-up when you're actually climbing. A brilliant combination for summer days when you still want to get out on the grit.

Great chalk. Sticks to your hands like glue and ideal as the first application at the start of a route.

    Awesome stuff!

I picked up a tube of this primarily for climbing in the warmer months (although these are few in the UK) to provide a base layer to dry my hands before climbing both inside and outside.

This is the 2nd brand I have tried, and I must say I did notice a difference, with the Black Diamond one being slightly better. Firstly, I was able to re-apply it on top of a thin layer of chalk with it still sticking and not just mixing with the chalk already on my hands. I could also apply it numerous times in a session without feeling my hands getting destroyed or really dried out from the process.

I also didnt feel it clumping up and rubbing off all the time, which I did find on occasion with the other brand I tried. I did however find that the chalk would come out a bit quick with this one, so I had to remember to be a bit careful and sparing when dishing it out.

The price was similar enough not to really be a consideration. So overall I would go for this one again.
