The Thermarest TrailLite is great choice for the backpacker or adventurer that isn't too restricted by saving weight and doesn't want to pay the price of the NeoAir mats. At 3.8cm thick it will provide comfort and warmth and is best suited as a 3 season mat. The TrailLite has a longer straight section in the torso area, this increases the width and reduces the gap when two mats are coupled together. The TrailLite is a classic-style Thermarest mat using die-cut foam which provides a warmth and comfort.
Easily inflated by opening the valve the mattress will self inflate in a few minutes, but you'll always have to give it a couple of breaths to finish it of. The WingLock valve system has a large opening for rapid one way inflation so no air is lost. The WingLock valve also features deflation 'wings' so the mat can be deflated and rolled up easily.

Customer Reviews of Thermarest Trail Lite
Bought this as an upgrade from a foam rollmat back when I was a scout, coming up for 7 years ago, originally for scout camps but has now seen much more varied use, being taken away for multi-day hiking trips in the UK and Europe. It's a fantastically well-made piece of kit which just does it's job, and does it well! It packs up small enough, but when inflated is very comfortable even on some of the most rocky or rooted ground.
It's also very easy to repair 'in the field' which is hugely useful, should you puncture it. Only downside I see is the weight - it's definitely heavier than a foam rollmat, but the comfort difference wins it over for me!
I have used this roll mat on a few multi day hikes and have liked it. I am 6'3 have found the large to be more than big enough for my needs. The bed is lightweight and the pack size is good for hiking. The foam in the bed makes it inflate quickly and the option to blow more air (or let some out) means that the bed can easily be inflated to your preferred firmness. The valve works well and does not appear to let the bed deflate. The stuff sack provided is large enough to easily pack away the bed and has a handle on the base for easy removal of the bed.
