Full Description
The Pieps Pro IPS is a powerful avalanche beacon designed around Piep's new INTERFERENCE PROTECTION SYSTEM and DUAL ANTENNA SIGNAL PROCESSING technology. These two new technologies make the Pro IPS and incredibly stable transceiver. The IPS system reduces interference in SEND mode by analyzing the surrounding environment for electronic and metallic interference and adapting to the interfering source. The Dual Antenna Signal Processing feature functions in SEARCH mode, when the Pro IPS processed signals on the X and Y antenna. This ensures an even more precise localization of the transmitted signal, effective elimination of ghost signals and a very high range.
Best For:
Any users, beginner to professional, who are looking for the best technology and multiple features/functionality.
Ease of Use
The Pieps Pro IPS has a large easy to read screen with very power efficient graphic icons for direction, distance and other features. In normal search mode it will display the distance, direction and number of received signals. The mark button is a large yellow button above the screen which is out of the way of your fingers when holding the device, reducing the chance of accidentally pressing it.
The other function buttons are placed under the large pull out antenna bar that also functions as the SEND / SEARCH switch. This means that the device cannot be accidentally switched from SEND to SEARCH or back.
The PRO IPS is capable of detecting and indicating deep burials over 2m. In the event of a secondary avalanche, the avalanche beacon automatically switches from search to send after a certain period of inactivity. The Pro IPS will always use the antenna with the strongest signal.
Group Check Pro-Mode efficiently verify that the beacons in the group are transmitting and receiving correctly.
Advanced Functions
Scan functions provides a quick overview of the situation in a multiple burial situation and displays the number of buried persons in a specific distance intervals.
A built in inclinometer function shows the steepness of the terrain.
Backup Mode is intended for rescuers in passive search tasks, like probing or shovelling. Here, the Backup Mode mutes the SEND signal when device is in SEND position so other searchers can focus on the signal of the buried victim. Transmitting (sending) automatically resumes when no movement is detected for a predetermined time (the Auto-Revert timeout), preceded by a 30 second countdown.
Advanced functions can be turned on and off by connecting your Pieps Pro IPS to the Pieps App.
