The Ortovox AVABAG LiTRIC Tour 36 Short is a lightweight, high-performance ski touring backpack designed for smaller users tackling everything from quick ascents to demanding multi-day alpine missions. Featuring Ortovox’s innovative LiTRIC electronic avalanche airbag system, this pack provides maximum safety with minimal weight. The shortened FULL CONTACT LIGHT back system ensures a close, comfortable fit and even load distribution, while the durable yet lightweight materials balance toughness with all-day comfort. Compatible with the LiTRIC Zip-On System, this modular design allows users to switch between TOUR S and FREERIDE S packs, making it an ideal all-rounder for ski mountaineering, splitboarding, or backcountry touring in any terrain.
The LiTRIC electronic airbag system, is lightweight, reliable and easy to use. The electric system can be fully charged in approx. 25 minutes via USB-C and activation can be tested any number of times at no additional cost. The lack of a cartridge means more space, no weighing necessary, no cartridge disposal, no travel limitations. Supercapacitors are used instead of cartridges and the airbag is ultra-lightweight – making the system one of the lightest on the market. And the system is especially easy to use. From charging and the LED display, to the activation handle, to airbag packing and the leg loop. LiTRIC Airbags are absolutely intuitive to operate. One charge enables at least two activations. When switched on its operation time is roughly 60 hours, which allows for multi-day tours with no need for recharging. Its operating temperature ranges from -30°C to +45°C.
The AVABAG LiTRIC Tour 36 S offers a comprehensive feature set for serious ski tourers. The main compartment opens fully with a circumferential zip, giving fast access to gear, while a separate safety pocket keeps avalanche equipment organised and ready. Practical attachments include D-Skifix ski carry, snowboard and rope holders, ice axe loops, and a helmet net, ensuring full versatility in the mountains. Climate-neutral, PFC-free, and hydration compatible, this is one of the most advanced, eco-conscious airbag packs on the market.
