Mountain Equipment Makalu Jacket

The Mountain Equipment Makalu Jacket is an all round durable jacket for hiking and mountaineering, providing you with excellent weather protection in any season and for any mountain adventure. The Makalu is constructed from 50 denier, three layer GORE-TEX fabric with protective heavier weight 75 denier GORE-TEX reinforcements in the high wear areas. The Makalu has been constructed for an ideal balance of waterproof protection, durability and weight for year round use.

The hood is fully adjustable and helmet compatible . All the main zips on the jacket are water resistant YKK Aquaguard, assisting with keeping the weight down, the weather out and sealing you safely inside the jacket. There are plenty of pockets on the Makalu, so its ideal for keeping essential items close to hand. Two-way YKK pit zips feature on the jacket being super handy when you need to dump excess heat fast, and being polyurethane coated they provide a high level of wind and water-resistant protection as well.

The Makalu also features ME's Alpine Fit, providing excellent wearer comfort whilst retaining a slightly closer fit with articulated pre shaped sleeves that give you a greater freedom of movement. Dual tether hem drawcords assist with keeping the jacket in place and the laminated cuffs are adjustable so they can be worn over or under your gloves, depending on the conditions.
