The Mountain Equipment Karakoram Mountain Pants are all round use waterproof mountaineering trousers for use in cold and wet environments. These tough hardshell trousers are a Winter mountaineering essential. Made with Mountain Equipment's 3-layer DRILITE waterproof membrane and a burly 70 denier polyester outer, with further reinforced 360 denier ankle kick patches.
The Karakoram Mountain Pants feature full length side zips so they can be donned easily without taking mountain or ski boots off if a good weather day suddenly turns bad. They can be worn over a baselayer in day long wet weather or over a softshell layer in an emergency. The Alpine fit offers plenty of room for layering without being baggy making them an excellent climbing layer, articulated knees are a further aid that allow for high step moves. The Karakoram pants come with adjustable braces to keep the high waist in place which stops any gaps forming between the trousers and your upper body layers. Inside is a fixed internal gaiter that will create a good seal around your boots to keep out snow.
