Lyon Nylon Sling

Another piece of kit to add to my collection for the low level outdoor climbing that I do. great value for money.

Bought this nylon sling to replace ones which seem to loose their way back into my rigging bag. They are well made and feel thicker than my previous nylon sling. Colour is good as it hides the dirt.

I purchased the 120 cm sling for use in setting up abseil stations while ski touring. Excellent product, I'm sure more will be purchased in due course. The sling feels well made and looks like it will resist abrasion well. First Class Service from Facewest!

Not much to say about this really, its a well priced & well made small sling! I'm a tree surgery climber & use it as an 'emergency cut away' connection between my wire cored flipline and karabiner. Its chunky enough that I'm confident it will still be safe after a couple of years use & the stitching looks very good.

I bought a Lyon 60cm nylon sling to use during glacier travel to anchor me to an ice screw in the event of a crevasse fall - so hope not to have to use it. I plan to larksfoot it onto the belay loop of my Couloir harness with a carabiner on the other end. I know that a dynamic rope cowtail is safer in the event of a fall if there is slack in the system but if I place an ice screw at about chest height the sling should be under tension so that even if a snow bridge were to give way there should not be any shock. Because the couloir harness is so neat and packable I did not really want to leave the increased bulk of a rope anchor attached all the time. From what I have read a nylon sling should be safer than using a dyneema sling. It seems very well made, is a good price and is the right length for what I want.
