The Inov-8 Roclite G 286 GTX is the lightest GORE-TEX waterproof hiking boot on the market. Weighing just 286g per shoe they offer an amazing weight saving on your feet, which requires the most energy to lift. Featuring Inov8's G-Grip a graphene grip rubber which is very sticky and incredibly durable, and the classic ROCLITE sole with multi-directional cleats for excellent grip. The Roclite G 286 GTX also features a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane for extra protection in wet boggy terrain through the year.

The upper is made from a super durable Cordura mesh. The 6mm drop gives a cushioned ride and the midsole features Inov8s Powerflow which further improves shock absorption over standard midsoles. The Roclite G 286 GTX has a range of applications, from winter runners wanting additional protection, fast hikers looking for massive weight savings on your kit, and climbers looking for a super light approach shoe that will keep your feet dry on wet / boggy approaches.

    Inov8 Fit Scale

    Fits Narrow 1 2 3 4 5 Fits Wide

Inov8 have graded the fit of all their shoes from 1 to 5 to make it easy for you to find the perfect fitting shoe. All their shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold. Where they differ is in the toe box. Grade 1 represents the closest, most precise fit. At the other end of the scale, Grade 5 has the widest fitting toe box.

Came from a pair of Aku Pilgrim GTX I had always found too stiff and narrow in the toe for the kind of walking I do (fast and light Munro's 3-6 hours at a time). These are hands down the most comfortable hiking boot I have ever worn. Plenty of room in the toe box and volume for the mid foot. Low heel to toe drop feels brilliant mechanically, I don't feel like I'm walking on platforms but rather connected to the ground. Really light but sturdy construction means the break in period is non existent, comfortable straight out of the box. If you know how comfortable and well-fitting Inov8 trail shoes feel, these are similar but a good bit more 'solid' for want of a better word. Grip on muddy surfaces is 9/10, grip on dry surfaces is 10/10. They even grip on oil-soaked concrete in the workshop which is way above and beyond. In three weeks of daily wear at work (I wear them in and around a metalworking shop) and in the hills they have been flawless And show zero wear this far. Worth every penny.

Have used them once so far on the Lakeland fells over wet ground - feet stayed dry as you would hope. Tight to get on so mindful not to pull too hard on the heel loop - my old (non GTX) model the loop broke quite easily. Snug fit but comfortable for my wide feet. Grip on steep muddy ground and wet rock is excellent. Very pleased so far with this well constructed lightweight boot.

Normally I wear Vibram 5-fingers but have found the recent wet conditions a little too treacherous so bought these 286's on the recommendation of a friend. I run in them, which probably isn't their intended purpose, but they are certainly light enough and the grip is fantastic. Plenty of room in the toe box, minimal drop and dry feet at the end of every run. I'm very happy with them so far and will be using them as an all rounder, for days out in the hills, trail running or even standing on the touchline watching my daughter play football.
