The Buffalo Big Face Shirt is an active use adaption of their Mountain Shirt design. The addition of climbing specific features also translate to mountain biking and canoeing. The sleeves are longer so no gap if formed between gloves and sleeves when reaching up. The pockets are higher and sit above a climbing harness, and the body is longer and fastens between the legs to prevent the shirt riding up.
The Big Face Shirt is designed to replace a layering system with one jacket to keep you warm and dry in all conditions. The Big Face Shirt consists of an outer shell made from Pertex Quantum with a thick AquaTherm pile lining. While none of the constituent parts are waterproof in the same sense a shell jacket, the combination of windproof outer and extremely fast wicking pile lining will keep you warm and dry in very wet conditions. Buffalo recommend that the Big Face Shirt performs best when worn next to the skin.
The Big Face Shirt features a high pile lined collar to protect against cold wind. The neck can be opened up to dump excess heat when working hard but is covered with a storm flap to prevent heat loss when closed. The Big Face Shirt is donned by opening up the side zips, which also double as storm flap protected vents. There are two zipped hand warmer pockets and a large front pouch pocket for maps and other essentials. The waist can be adjusted with a tape and buckle system. When purchasing your Big Face Shirt please pay close attention to the size guide. The shirt should be close fitting without being restrictive.
