    Full Description

The Beal Zenith 9.5mm is the thinnest and more importantly the lightest single rope in the Beal Active range. It's ideal as either a lightweight sport rope, where weight is crucial on longer pitches or as a trad rope, particularly on single pitch straight ups like you may encounter on gritstone edges. Also because this is a lightweight rope it's a really good choice for scrambling in the mountains, particularly the 30m length which, when coiled takes up little pack space. If you are looking for a lightweight single rope for dry conditions then the Zenith is a brilliant choice, especially if you are on a budget.

As part of the Beal Active range of ropes the Zenith has no treatment on either the sheath or core ensuring the construction is ecologically sound. This does mean that it's not ideal for use as a winter rope or in wet conditions.

Not used yet, but purchased for a Via Ferrata trip in Italy. There aren't too many 30m ropes about, although there are several by the meter, but without finished ends. Mainly intended for top-roping, so 9. 5mm was a compromise as we'll have to carry it a long way too. We don't intend to test its fall characteristics!
