The Mountain Equipment Citadel Jacket is possibly the warmest belay jacket on the market. Twice as warm as the Fitzroy Jacket, its Primaloft Gold insulation and Drilite Loft II Outer will keep you warm and dry no matter what the weather is doing or how long you're on the belay. This is the jacket to take on that expedition to Baffin Island or Alaska, for that new route in the Himalayas or an Alpine north face in winter.
The outer is totally windproof and very highly water resistant, making it the perfect jacket to deal with spindrift and windy conditions. This fabric is also used on the inner hem and hood lining, the areas most prone to wetting out. The four front pockets allow you to both store essentials and keep your hands warm, with an internal mesh pocket and water bottle holder to keep liquids or cameras warm. The back and hood feature ME's EXL system - an elastic baffle system that hugs the jacket in to your body to maximise warmth whilst minimising weight and bulk. The helmet compatible hood has a wired brim and full adjustability to seal out even the most howling gale. The Shoulder Shield construction means that there are no seams over the shoulder and arm area, minimising heat loss and water entry.
