    Full Description

Kahtoola Microspikes have been updated with an improved lightweight Elastomer harness that is supple to -30°C allowing you to use them with confidence in the harshest of winter conditions. To increase strength and durability the eyelets have now been reinforced with a harder plastic material, this prevents the chain links from ripping through the harness. At the front of the harness is a new toe bail to hold the spikes even more securely, also allowing for you to get them on and off a lot quicker.

MicroSpikes are lightweight pavement and trail crampons ideal for snowed up paths and pavements. They form the bridge between lighter pavement crampons and lightweight walking crampons which are designed for mountain use, but shouldn't be used as an alternative to full crampons. They will fit onto almost any shoe or boot in seconds to give you extra traction on ice and hard-packed snow. The traction is achieved by chains and small spikes held firmly in place under the foot by a rubber upper rand.

The Kahtoola MicroSpikes have proven especially popular with fell runners who want a light, compact crampon which will attach securely to a running shoe to allow them to pass icy sections.

    Kahtoola Microspikes Features:

    • Lightweight elastomer harness
    • Reinforced eyelets
    • Intergrated toe bail
    • Heel tab for easy on/off
    • Quad cleat on heel
    • Hardened 9.5mm stainless steel spikes at the toe, midsole and heel
    • Fit in seconds
    • Comes with carry bag

Really good product. Medium fit my size 8 la sportiva trango boots spot on. The spikes work well on hard ice, keep your feet flat, no front points remember! Lots if my friends have them to and all rate them highly.

These are really good. During the recent snows around xmas 2020 proved invaluable on the hills and on icy paths. They are easier to wear than climbing crampons as the short spikes don't catch so much on rocks or waterproof trousers. I would also buy the red ones because my wife borrowed a pair of black ones that were too big and lost one. We couldn't find it in the failing light whereas I'm sure a red pair would have stood out. Most of my friends and family have these now because they are quality items that work. Only downfall is that some may find them a bit fiddly to put on, you need to get the correct size and in certain heavy wet snow they can ball up , but these are minor points common with other similar crampons. I ordered two pairs from FW when the rest of the country was out of stock and they were the cheapest even with next day delivery.

Bought for just in case use not used yet. Wife has a pair so pretty sure I will be happy with them. Price competitive especially considering they were posted as well. Delivered really quickly. No negative issues. Just have to remember to check their web site when I am looking for walking and hill gear.

Bought these for my husband. The recent heavy snow fall has certainly given him a chance to try them out and he says he is very impressed. He would definitely recommend them.

Been used in snow and severe ice and they were great. Dependable and strong. They are designed to last, not like many others on the market.

Got these at the end of icy spell where I'd used yaktrax most days on Kinder. These are loads better, you can pretty much forget to look where you're going and just walk and enjoy the scenery; they grip well even on sloping sheet ice and unlike traditional yaktrax you don't have to check if they're still on your boot every 10 minutes, and unlike crampons they're light enough to chuck in the rucksack on the days where you think you might need spikes just in case.

I purchased Microspikes, size M several years ago, which were spot on. As a result, I ordered size M a few weeks ago, which turned out to be tighter than the originals. Accordingly, I ordered a size L, which are perfect. I have passed on the recent size M to my wife, so nothing lost. I have no problem about the quality, but perhaps a little more warning about the size of the recent models compared with earlier models would be helpful.

Although my purchase was after the ice/snow had melted I have nevertheless fitted them to my boots as a trial and my size 11 fitted the large size snugly and more importantly firmly. I am sure that next winter they will give me a positive and sure grip. and much better than other ice grips I have tried.
