The Ortlieb Document Bag comes in three sizes allowing you to choose the perfect size for your needs.
Made from tear resistant PU that is completely flexible. You can roll this case up or fold it and leave no marks or memory in the case. You never know when it's going to rain in the UK so if it's a paper map you need a waterproof case. 2 holes in velcro roll closure for neck string. Neck string included.
Dimensions of cases are the size of paper that you can fit in, not the external dimensions. A6 size is perfect for passports and credit cards

I use this bag for my own A4 walking maps and it's perfect - light, flexible and waterproof.
A very handy little bag which I have used to keep my passport and other small documents clean and dry. Two passports and boarding passes fit in without too much trouble, and it's easy to carry on your person thanks to the cord.
I have had an A5 document case for a year or so now and use it a 3 or 4 times a week. I use it to hold my smartphone, cards and some cash whenever I go out on my road bike/running. Keeps my phone dry from rain and sweat and also allows me to use the touchscreen for maps on the go. It is a good size to use with cut down paper maps in foul weather and/or when running as it is easier to stow in a pocket than a full-size map case. I have also used it for holding tickets, passports and other boring but important documents. Comes with a silly piece of string.
I have recently bought one for my other half as well. Mine is a little yellower than her new one but you wouldn't notice it without a pristine example next to it. Remains totally waterproof and reliable. Great item.
Just what you need for passports and cash when there is a risk of things getting wet or sweaty. I have just bought my second one of these. The first one lasted twelve years and for three of those it was in daily use in South America, Australasia and Central Asia. After all this use it finally failed after over a decade when the velcro tabs became unglued. The waterproofness of the bag was still good.
The material might look not so durable but it is. The velcro closure is working fine and no water enters the bag whatsoever, totally recommended. With good care (wash after use) will last for years.
The Ortlieb map bags are simply the best on the market if used correctly. The PU bag itself is extremely durable irrespective of temperature (hot or cold). The PU bag will not crack, tear, puncture or rip if snared on barbed wire etc and the Velcro roll top will resist water penetration. The only drawback is that over long term sunlight exposure, the PU bag will slowly discolour (to a light brown colour) but it will remain transparent. However it will be be in excess of 10 years use before it becomes unusable due to discoloration. Best water proof map or document bags in the market. BUY!
Having already owned a set of bicycle roll top panniers from 'ortlieb' I was aware of the usual quality of this brand and I can say I am not disappointed. I purchased the A5 version of the document case and I have used it as a map case for cut down maps for hill races. The quality of the waterproofing is such that ink jet printed map segments do not get smudged in adverse weather, when you really need your map. Great simple robust product. Highly recommend it!
I got this document bag about a year ago and have been using it a couple of tours in the Swedish mountains. In comparison to other bags (sometimes having a price times ten) this one is totally bullet proof in terms of water resistance, even though heavy rains, and I would almost dare to take a swim with it. Further, it is very easy to fold and during the hikes I kept it in my pocket. The plastic do not look worn at all once you have folded it a substantial number of times either. This is simply the best document bag/case I ever had and this is truly great value for money. Negatives: It could be tough to fit in a guide book if needed.
I have bought several of these Ortlieb bags - 1 as a map case & 1 as a mobile & wallet carrier.
Fairly robust & totally waterproof. The map case has taken quite a battering & is holding up very well. Anyone who is looking for a quality solution and 100% waterproof into the bargain then Ortlieb is for you. I have bought cheaper map cases but they never last long.
There are a variety of sizes to suit all your walking, climbing & biking needs.
Adventure racers often need a no nonsense case for A4 printed maps. This Ortlieb A4 case is superb for the job as it is easy to roll it up and stuff in a backpack pocket, or even under the elastic hydration tube straps on a shoulder harness. Very good quality construction, backed up by a 5 year warranty. Would definitely buy another one if I ever have the misfortune to lose mine.
