Born from a desire to combine their love of the mountains with gainful employment, Jake and Stu founded Facewest in 1997. At our core we're keen outdoor people who really care about providing the best kit for enthusiasts like us. We've been skiing, climbing, paragliding, running and hiking for decades. Read about our journey, from ski bums selling transceivers and shovels out of a Fiat Panda in the French alps, to an independent specialist outdoor retailer.

We run an outdoor shop for kit monsters just like us. We select only the equipment that we would want to use ourselves from established and trusted brands. Value for money is always important but performance and reliability are paramount, nobody wants to have their adventures compromised by equipment failure. We love kit, not just the bright shiny "newness" of it but the specific features and details that make a great product stand out from the crowd.
