The Rab Optical Down Jacket is built for skiers tackling the harshest winter conditions in remote and rugged terrain. Ideal for deep winter skiing & ski touring, this fully waterproof jacket combines advanced materials for superior performance. It features a tough 2-layer Pertex Shield outer with a fluorocarbon-free DWR, offering excellent waterproofing and breathability (20,000mm HH / 20,000g MVTR). Insulated with 700FP hydrophobic recycled down and TXdown Gold sheet insulation, the Optical provides uncompromising warmth while maintaining low-bulk mobility. The durable 100% recycled polyamide construction, paired with lightweight 20D Pertex Quantum lining, ensures reliable protection and comfort in extreme cold. Designed for sustainability and performance, this is a must-have for serious backcountry adventurers.
Packed with technical features, the Rab Optical Down Jacket offers maximum functionality without sacrificing mobility. A 2-way adjustable ski helmet compatible hood with concealed cord locks ensures protection without restricting vision. The 2-way YKK VISLON AquaGuard front zip includes an internal storm guard to keep moisture out, while articulated sleeves provide a better fit and enhanced freedom of movement. Practical storage comes from two zipped hand pockets and a zipped internal chest pocket, ideal for essentials. A Matrix stretch fabric powder skirt with dual snap fasteners is fully removable, adding versatility for changing conditions. TXdown Gold insulation in the sleeves and hood increases packability, making this high-performance jacket perfect for technical cold-weather pursuits.
