Thermarest Trail Lite

Lightweight and comfy. Perfect for a backpack that's already heavy. The Thermarest has successfully been put to test during my first solo camp this weekend just come. Hoping for more to come.

This sleeping pad works very well, easy to inflate and deflate and comfortable.

Bought this as an upgrade from a foam rollmat back when I was a scout, coming up for 7 years ago, originally for scout camps but has now seen much more varied use, being taken away for multi-day hiking trips in the UK and Europe. It's a fantastically well-made piece of kit which just does it's job, and does it well! It packs up small enough, but when inflated is very comfortable even on some of the most rocky or rooted ground. It's also very easy to repair 'in the field' which is hugely useful, should you puncture it. Only downside I see is the weight - it's definitely heavier than a foam rollmat, but the comfort difference wins it over for me!

I have used this roll mat on a few multi day hikes and have liked it. I am 6'3 have found the large to be more than big enough for my needs. The bed is lightweight and the pack size is good for hiking. The foam in the bed makes it inflate quickly and the option to blow more air (or let some out) means that the bed can easily be inflated to your preferred firmness. The valve works well and does not appear to let the bed deflate. The stuff sack provided is large enough to easily pack away the bed and has a handle on the base for easy removal of the bed.
