The Petzl Leopard Hybrid Crampons are super lightweight 10 point crampons perfect for ski touring and approaches involving glacier travel. The steel front sections and aluminum heel sections offer an excellent balance of performance and weight, as well as traction on ice.
Where the weight is really saved on these compared to other ski touring crampons is the attachment between the front and rear parts of the crampon. For this Petzl have used a Cord-Tec linking system, which is essentially a tough piece of cord which attached to either and and can be looped around various notches to adjust the length of the crampon. This saves a massive amount of weight and also makes the Leopard crampon super easy to adjust - tools are not necessary - and incredibly packable.
The LEVERLOCK UNIVERSEL bindings are interchangeable and designed to fit most footwear with heel welts. The ALPEN ADAPT system offers complete front and rear section modularity. Every part can be adapted or replaced.
