Built from a 1.1oz 20-denier Pertex Quantum 100% recycled nylon ripstop shell with 800-fill-power Responsible Down Standard insulation, it's aimed squarely at mountaineering, ice climbing and winter alpinism where warmth-to-weight is everything. The PFAS-free DWR finish and Fair Trade Certified construction make this a genuinely reliable belay jacket for committed alpine and ski touring objectives. It layers easily over a waterproof shell for ski touring and mountaineering, or works as a warm standalone piece for everyday cold-weather wear around the UK.
An alpine helmet-compatible hood with a single-pull drawcord and high-loft draft collar seals in warmth at belays, while a two-way centre-front Vislon zip with an internal storm flap allows belay-loop access without opening the whole jacket. Handwarmer and external chest pockets stay accessible while belaying, and the hoody self-stuffs into its own left-front pocket for minimal pack space.
