The Rab Mythic Ultra Jacket is the next generation of high spec down insulation that offers extraordinary warmth for weight. The Mythic Ultra features ultralight materials, super fine 900FP hydrophobic treated down and a TILT Scrim heat reflective aluminium coated lining to boost warmth above any comparable weight down jacket.
The Mythic Ultra is constructed from super light 10 denier Recycled Pertex Quantum Nylon ripstop outer and liner. This super light fabric is down proof and packable and has a flurocarbon free DWR finish for weatherproofing. The insulation is 900 fill power European Goose Down with a Nikwax flurocarbon free hydrophobic finish. This does not make the down waterproof, but it improves its performance in damper conditions. 900FP is some of the highest performance down on the market. The super fine down feathers are very compressible for a small pack size but will loft out fully very rapidly when you need that quick warm layer. The biggest innovation in the Mythic Ultra Jacket is the heat reflective TILT Scrim layer in the torso. Rab insert an aluminium treated polyester mesh layer which reduces radiant heat loss without compromising pack size or breathability.
The down filling is kept in place inside offset box wall baffles. This construction eliminates the cold spots between baffles but does make the garment bulkier, for that reason Rab use stitch through baffles on the arms so mobility is not affected, while your core is kept warm. The Mythic Ultra jacket features a helmet compatible down filled hood for when you really need to keep the elements out on a cold belay. A light weight YKK VISLON 2 way front zip can be opened from the bottom so it doesn't get in the way of a belay plate. The sleeves are pre curved and articulated for freedom of movement and reduced riding up while climbing. The cuffs are part elasticated to seal out the cold and the hem can be adjusted at both sides with an anti-snag tether.
