The Rab Mythic Alpine Light Jacket is the next generation of high spec down insulation that combines the warmth and pack-ability of down with strategic placement of synthetic insulation. The Mythic Alpine Light features ultra light materials and super fine 900FP hydrophobic treated down.

The Mythic Alpine Light is constructed from super light 10 denier Recycled Pertex Quantum Nylon ripstop outer and liner. This super light fabric is down proof and packable and has a flurocarbon free DWR finish for weatherproofing. The insulation is 900 fill power European Goose Down with a Nikwax flurocarbon free hydrophobic finish. This does not make the down waterproof, but it improves its performance in damper conditions. 900FP is some of the highest performance down on the market. The super fine down feathers are very compressible for a small pack size but will loft out fully very rapidly when you need that quick warm layer.

High wear areas like the shoulders, sides of the hood and cuffs are filled with PrimaLoft Gold synthetic insulation so they are unaffected by dampness and compression. The Mythic Alpine jacket features a helmet compatible down filled hood for when you really need to keep the elements out on a cold belay. The sleeves are pre curved and articulated for freedom of movement and reduced riding up while climbing. The cuffs are part elasticated to seal out the cold and the hem can be adjusted at both sides with an anti-snag tether.

I bought this ahead of a trip to Norway. I like Rab products because of their quality and fit. It's a fantastic jacket to have, light, warm, easily packable and looks good as well. I wore it as a top layer (4 layers in total) in -22c and it kept me warm. Also, Facewest are a GREAT company to buy from. Their customer service is fantastic, really quick shipping and some great deals.

Amazing service from a top company and Rab jacket is so warm. Used for walk in the peaks and kept me nice and warm keep me dry but when it came down heavy better to wear under a hard shell jacket the perfect jacket for winter and autumn walks would recommend sizing up as I went for XL and found it fine large might just be a bit sung under the arm 10-10 for jacket 10-10 for the excellent service:)

Super light, invisible pockets! Good warmth. Not as breathable as I'd hoped but ok. My main problem with the jacket is that the arms are super short (odd because I have other Rab coats in the same size which don't have this problem) so anything underneath sticks out at the wrists and looks a bit stupid.

Very light down jacket. It almost feels like you™re not wearing it! I's also very, very warm for its incredibly light weight. I™ve not yet worn it in proper low temperatures, but I did wear it on a walk in +2C temperature with just a thick merino base layer underneath, and I was lovely and warm. It also seems to be really breathable. It looks great too! Nice cut - slim™ish, but with plenty of room for a fleece or more underneath (I bought my usual size for upper body garments of size Small). The colour looks fantastic in the flesh (Orion Blue). The outer fabric is thin, but tha's part of the reason it is so light. However, it seems like it will be hard wearing enough. It packs down REALLY small into a little stuff sack that you™ll find inside one of the pockets. I really like it. Great jacket!
