The MSR Alpine Kitchen Knife is a great camp kitchen knife with a 4.5" Santoku-styled blade for chopping and cutting. Made from hardened stainless steel this blade will hold it's edge against excessive use. It comes in it's own ventilated sheath that will prevent corrosion if it's packed damp.

I always take a knife for when I'm in the middle of nowhere. I got sick of usinga normal home kitchen knife because I didn't have anywhere safe in my bag to put it. The MSR knife comes with a decent sheath so that you don't need to worry about this, but I have known it to come off fairly easily whilst taking it out of my bag, so care is needed. The other great thing about this knife is that it's very lightweight. Definitely much lighter than any of the kitchen knives I used to take. It hasn't needed sharpening yet, and I've been using it for quite a few trips so far.

Purchased the MSR alpine kitchen knife to replace a normal kitchen knife I used and after receiving the MSR knife I was over the moon with the quality of the item. For the weight conscious camper you will not be disappointed. The knife has a very nice feel when using and the blade is very sharp and excellent for the gourmet camper. The added cover for the blade is a fantastic idea for packing in the rucksack. So the overall verdict is 10/10 and would recommend the product to any camper / hiker and the buying service from facewest is second to none

What a great knife ! I am a frequent climber, and because of this I spend most of my weekends living out of a tent or my van. I am certain that this knife will be a godsend, and after years of just using a lock knife, I can instantly see the advantages that this knife has to offer. Firstly, this knife is absolutely razor sharp, and seeing as though I am chef as my day job, I know a sharp knife when I see one. Secondly, compared with the knife I was using, this one has no grooves or rivets for food to get stuck in, which is a big plus for me. Overall a brilliant little knife for the price, can't find any faults with it yet, and as usual absolutely seamless service from facewest.

The knife has just arrived and I am really pleased with it. Although it is fairly fragile (by this I mean you would have to be a bit more careful with it than a regular kitchen knife but this is to be expected) it is very sharp and I like the blade design with the blunt tip that reduces the chance of any accidents. In the past I have used a swiss army knife to prepare food but the msr knife is vastly superior to the at this task and for opening packets of food (freeze dried etc! ) I think it would perfect as a camping knife, the only thing I would not try with it is bush craft ie feather sticks, and splitting sticks for kindling. If you are just going hiking/camping then its great. On my digital scales it weighs in at 47 grams and the blade length is just under 11cm.

The MSR Alpine Kitchen Knife is great value for money. It's lightweight, and the blade is very sharp, and comes with a protective cover meaning that it's easy to pack in a rucksack or in a Sea Kayak (as part of a travelling kitchen). The blade is strong yet thin so it's ideal for slicing vegetables. So good, in fact, that I'm happy to use it at home for slicing carrots and chopping garlic etc. It also goes into my bag when I head out to the Alps to ski, and is deployed in the chalet for food preparations most days. I give this five stars. It was a great find. . .

Really excellent knife, especially considering how much you can pay on the high street for a regular knife for use at home. . . It's lightweight, but not flimsy, and the blade is as sharp as they come. The blade protector sheaf is also good and doesn't easily/accidentally come off. In the past when out on the trail or just doing normal camping I've always used multitools and so on, now I'll take this on all but the lightest trips, when there aren't any vegetables to slice anyway! Thinking about it, this would probably work out as a nice small gift too, so will probably be back for more!

I bought this knife as a spare should anything happen to my old one, yes I've had one of these for a few years now. Great cooking knife. I use it outdoors most weekends, its sharp and is easily sharpened. Good value and well made.
