Description

The Leatherman Raptor Rescue has been developed for professional medical and rescue personnel providing them with an effective tool in emergency situations. The Raptor's array of tools will allow casualties to be cut free from restricting seatbelts or harnesses quickly and without danger of further injury.

The folding Medical Shears are serrated allowing them to grip fabric for a faster and safer cut. These are backed up with a Strap Cutter that can be opened with one hand and operated even with gloves on. At the axle of the Raptor is a Ring Cutter which will cut through just about any gold ring to release pressure or entrapment. Civilian grade glass is easily broken to reach casualties using the Carbide-tip glass breaker, a small but really useful feature in stressful situations.

At the base of the Strap Cutter is an Oxygen Tank Wrench allowing access to life-saving oxygen if the bottle's own wrench has become lost. When not in use the Raptor can safely be stored open in the tough plastic Molle compatible holster so it's always to hand. And the lanyard hole ensures you do not loose it when working under pressure. A great addition to any medic's kit.

Great item, perfect if you want to cut down on the kit in your belt. The blades cuts through everything with ease, even motorcycle leathers. The hard plastic holster is great and can be tailored to your needs. The only down side is that the thing is a bit heavy.

The quality of the Raptor is simply what you'd expect from Leatherman. It's solid yet amazingly compact and lightweight for what it provides. This makes it ideal for emergency personnel who have a requirement to carry robust equipment into remote locations. It opens & folds easily and the belt cutter and carbon tip glass breaker are easy to use in both positions though for the latter, a better grip is afforded with the shears locked in the half open position. Whilst the supplied holster is fit for purpose, I would have personally rather seen the Raptor also come with a nylon EMT-style pouch or case to hold the shears in either their open or collapsed state. The plastic holster is very much designed for medical professionals wanting to carry the shears 'at scene'.

This is a super great product. I buy it for use in my work as a paramedic. The scissors are well made and seems like a good emergency tool. I'm really happy for the sheath which helps attach it securely to your belt and can adjust it to different angles. I will certainly give my recommendations for this product.

Bought these for my daughter and one for her boyfriend for christmas. They love them ! everything that they said they would be so far. Just a pity that they can't be engraved, they are worried they might be 'borrowed' by other crews!
