Petzl Summit Evo

The Petzl Summit Evo is a classic mountaineering axe with a bias towards more technical terrain. A great axe for alpine trips the rubber handle gives good grip and the well balanced head and curved shaft provide excellent security on steeper, harder ground.

The Summit Evo offers good anchoring performance and has a straight lower shaft for plunging and an upper curved shaft for use on steep ice. The pick is a thin 3mm with toothed tip for good security in hard snow and ice and it thickens in the middle for better performance in soft snow. The highly durable steel adze gives comfortable support and is tilted to direct the axe into the snow with edges designed for efficient carving. The spike is made of stainless steel for durability and good penetration in hard snow, it also features a hole for attachment, as does the head. This is a great axe for alpine mountaineering; lightweight yet with the features to proved high performance on more technical terrain.
