Petzl Nomic

The Petzl Nomic is a technical axe designed for ice climbing. It has a type 2 (T rated) curved, hydroformed shaft and a curved head to facilitate hooking and the shape and weight is designed to for maximum inertia and striking quality. It has a comfortable grip which has a double handle (high and low) to facilitate hand switching with the lower handle offset to prevent contact with the ice. The Griprest has 3 position adjustment designed to work with all hand sizes and the lower part has a serrated stainless steel point for improved support.

The Nomics come with the Pur'Ice pick (type 1) which has a 3mm tapered pick tip for excellent penetration in hard ice and the hammer version comes with the mini marteau (hammer). It also comes with the Petzl Masselottes. The head is modular allowing it to be completely customised and is compatible with the the Petzl Ice, Dry and Pur'Dry picks as well as the Marteu (hammer).
