The Black Diamond ATC XP is the perfect general use belay device where a guide mode is not required. The XP can be used with a wide variety of climbing rope diameters making it a good all rounder for those that enjoy both trad and sport climbing. The multiple friction modes allow the XP to be used as a high-friction device or as a slicker device, especially handy when sport climbing .
The ATC XP has machined windows that dramatically reduce the weight without compromising the strength. It is securely attached to the belayers loop with a carabiner
