The Ortovox Avabag Litric Tour is an avalanche airbag pack featuring Ortovox's LiTRIC battery powered airbag system. The pack consists of a base which includes the back system and LiTRIC airbag components with a zip off pack. The base is compatible with any Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC tour and freeride zip attachments giving you a range of pack volumes and features.

The LiTRIC electronic airbag system, is lightweight, reliable and easy to use. The electric system can be fully charged in approx. 25 minutes via USB-C and activation can be tested any number of times at no additional cost. The lack of a cartridge means more space, no weighing necessary, no cartridge disposal, no travel limitations. Supercapacitors are used instead of cartridges and the airbag is ultra-lightweight – making the system one of the lightest on the market. And the system is especially easy to use. From charging and the LED display, to the activation handle, to airbag packing and the leg loop. LiTRIC Airbags are absolutely intuitive to operate. One charge enables at least two activations. When switched on its operation time is roughly 60 hours, which allows for multi-day tours with no need for recharging. Its operating temperature ranges from -30°C to +45°C.

This pack comes with the 30L TOUR zip on. Made from 400 denier Polyamide its a durable and light pack system wiht all the features you need for long day tours. The pack can be completely opened up thanks to its circumferential zipper. There are Ski, splitboard, and rope attachments, an ice axe holder and small map compartment. Avi safety equipment is stowed in a separate safety compartment.

Getting an Ava bag is deep and this one is not the cheapest option but there are several advantages to this type of "more expensive" bag which have made the difference for me. 1/ no hassle at airports - security do a swab test, but otherwise no questions asked or forms to fill. 2/ you can practice with it (for free) and I feel good knowing how to repack (its easy) without worrying if I did it right. 3/ It is reasonably light and is no less comfortable to wear than my previous bag. Some really minor things to be aware of: the 30l feels like a small 30l; not totally sold on the wrap around zip access; the attachable accessory straps, maybe because new could do with a little more friction. That all said there are some great features, there are a myriad of ways to attach poles, crampons, axes, board/skis and the loops mean it's very compatible with voile straps too. Overall I felt at ease using the bag and in some dangerous conditions genuinely felt an increased degree of protection.
