    Full Description

The Mountain Equipment Drilite Cap is a very packable and totally waterproof cap ideal for summer use. It will provide protection from the sun while breathability maintains comfort. And when the heavens open it will keep the rain off. Ideal for trekking and backpacking in the summer and the perfect choice for every day use in the hills and mountains, providing a waterproof and windproof barrier.

Drilite is described as a 'hydrophilic, Monolithic Polyurethane Membrane'. What it actually is, is a layer of non-porous polyurethane that is thin enough to allow water vapour to pass through it's molecular structure, this is the breathability.

    Mountain Equipment Drilite Cap Features

    • 2.5 layer waterproof Drilite fabric
    • Fully taped seams to guarantee waterpoofness
    • Tricot lined headband wicks moisture quickly
    • Velcro rear adjustment

    Mountain Equipment Drilite Cap Review
Bought this cap as I knew climbing Ben Nevis was going to be a wet day. This cap is great, fits well, kept my head dry and the rain off my face. Same marine colour as my ME Jacket. Cracking price and arrived within 2 days.

I like this cap - it's very comfortable, definitely breathable and waterproof. My only minor gripe is with the adjustment strap at the back. Now I admit I have a very large head (I normally take the largest hat size there is) but this cap will only fit me when I have the strap completely loose (ie not done up at all). Which is ok except that then there is a large expanse of 'hook & loop' which catches on fleece or anything wooly and is a bit annoying. I have a North Face cap and that doesn't suffer from the same thing - loads of adjustment room on the strap, even for my big noggin and a clip instead of the velcro. If you have an average sized head I doubt this will be a problem for you, though the hook & loop might still catch in your fleece.
