The DMM Shadow HMS Screwgate is a superb handling large HMS carabiner that is ideal for rigging belays. The large HMS shape allows for multiple knots and hitches to be attached. A couple of these on your rack on a long multi pitch will certainly get some use. And with it being and HMS carabiner it's ideal for belaying, especially on cold winter routes where you're wearing bulky gloves.
The wide 22mm gate opening is one of the widest gates on a climbing carabiner allowing for quick and easy use. The gates is secured with a standard screwgate lock and to prevent snagging the Shadow has a keylock closure. The only disadvantage of carrying such a useful carabiner is that it weighs just a little more, though in the big scale of things the pros far outweigh this one con.
