The Rab Microlight Vest is the perfect mid layer for core body warmth that is required by those that demand minimal weight, making this a great vest for the fast and light adventure racer, backpacker or mountain walker.
Pertex Microlight fabric is, as the name suggests, a very light fabric that is highly breathable and windproof. This combination enables the Microlight vest to be used as either a midlayer or outer layer depending on the conditions. The 90g of 750 fill power goose down will ensure enduring warmth for the wearer.

Fantastic product at a great price. In my job as a Physical Education teacher the Rab vest offers me great insulation and protection from the recent Baltic conditions. It is also incredibly light allowing for a full range of movement. As someone who hates movement encumbering coats it's the perfect compromise.

This really is a brilliant jacket! Very light, but warm, it's perfect underneath a shell jacket or just to throw on for some extra warmth. It has great big pockets and a good collar to hunker down in against the elements, and its small stow-size makes it easy to throw in your pack, when extra weight is a no-no. Probably more suited to spring, rather than winter conditions however.

I was lucky enough to borrow one of these from a friend for a road test. It is surprisingly warm and comfortable. The vest packs small and the close stitching means the down fill doesn’t disperse. As synthetic insulation is becoming more popular (and more expensive) this is really good value compared to other vests and will definitely be part of my winter wardrobe. Highly recommended to keep in your pack whilst on the go. However I would perhaps go for the jacket equivalent for long cold walks.
