    Description

The Source Widepac hydration system is a tough bladder that is perfect for any pack. The most noticeable feature of this bladder is the wide opening that allows for easy filling and probably more importantly easy cleaning.

The internal surface of the bladder has been coated with Sources Glass-like film, this is 100% smoother than other standard PU films. The advantage of this is that it makes the bladder very easy to clean and prevents bacteria from building up. The drinking tube is capped with a bite valve that can be locked with a simple twist. The tube can also be removed from the bladder while it still contains liquid, handy for topping up when on the move as you can leave the drink tube connected to your pack.

The Widepac comes in three sizes allowing you to choose the perfect one for your activity, though the 2 litre bladder is the most popular all round choice.

Great product as you can see from my 5 stars. I have used it only once up to now, but I am impressed. It is very easy to open and pour water inside, the water has no taste from plastic, and the pac (1.5 lt) fits perfectly in my small salomon 19lt backpack. The fact that it has a wide opening makes it easier to clean, and more important, easier to dry. It seems to be sturdy enough, and I hope it will last a long time. Of course I must say that this one was cheeper than the other similar products on the market, and for me this was an important factor. Also, it had better reviews - and now I know why :)

Had trouble in the past with the push bar for disconnecting hose from bag. On more than one occasion inadvertently dislodged while in rucksack causing a flood............but this model has the push bar offset to the side protecting this from happening. Great improvement.

I've used different hydration bladders from other manufacturers, but this one is by far the best I've tried. I have the 3 litre version together with a Deuter thermo bag, so the water stays cool in the summer and doesn't freeze that easily in the winter. But I would still recommend to blow the water back trough the tube, because otherwise, that is the first thing that will freeze up.

The wide opening is a real advantage compared to other bladders, especially if you want to clean it or dry it.

I only use it with water, but the taste of the water remains unchanged and it doesn't taste like plastic like other bladders sometimes do.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that the bite valve sometimes comes loose if you accidentally overtwist it.

Firstly I must say how thrilled I am with this source hydration 2 liter widepac. It is just qualityfrom the dirt cover on the mouth piece to the detachable hose not to mention the bladder coated with I think its 0.14 micron glass coated brilliant. It weighs on my digital scales 170 grams. I also like the ease of how it is cleaned and the way it is filled by sliding the plastic clip of the wide end then rolling it up and clipping it back simplicity itself. It does feel durable like the way it is a blue color on the plastic rather than clear plastic a fantastic product.

I bought this pack for trail running and as a replacement for my old unbranded hydration bladder. It fits a bit tight in my Salomon XT Wings Vest, but I would recommend it to everyone who wants a simple, strong, very efficient and most important, easy washable pack.

I bought a couple of these - one for me and one for my son for use on one-two day walks.

What I like: strong, washable, functional as a hydration pack.

What I don't: It's not really useful for general purpose water carrying if you want to double it as a base camp water bag. You can only get a tiny trickle of water out of the hose, or open the gaping hole at the top. Nothing in between. Given the fact it's not the lightest bit of kit, I think they missed an opportunity to make this a multi-purpose water vessel.

I bought this as a replacement for my ageing hydration bladder for using when I snowboard. It fits well in my Deuter Descentor pack and I use it with the Deuter Thermo bag which works perfectly. So glad I bought it! The full width opening at the top is brilliant for filling, no hassle, no spillages. The clip system to attach the tube to the pouch is a fantastic piece of design, so easy and leak proof as is the fold over top and sliding seal. Can't comment on the claim of the anti-bacterial lining to keep water fresher for longer as I've not used it much so far but unlike some bladders I've had no metallic water taste at all and the large opening means its so easy to clean.

One negative for me is the bite valve is a bit fiddly since you have to twist it, I'd prefer a pull to open system and the dust cap doesn't really stay on all that well when doing a high impact sport like snowboarding but they are minor quibbles. The valve is quite big but it still fits fine into the integrated zipped sleeve cover on the strap of on my pack well. All in all can't really fault it, one of the best hydration bladders out there I think.
