The Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sacks are ideal space saving waterproof bags for clothing and sleeping bags. Stuff your gear in and seal up the watertight roll top closure, then squeeze the air out through the eVent fabric as you compress the straps.
Sea to Summit have used reinforced stitching on all the stress points and have tape sealed the seams. The roll top closure uses Hypalon that does not wick moisture and is further stiffened with a Polypropylene strip. The compression dry sack weigh a little more than the regular eVent dry sack because of the extra straps, but they do allow you to compress even more.

Customer Reviews of Sea To Summit eVent Compression Dry Sacks
I bought both Exped and Sea to Summit (S-S) vented compression bags in diferent sizes for an open boat trip to a remote Scottish island, all to be contained in (and to have some abrasion protection from) larger non-waterproof bags.I've already written a detailed comparison review for the Exped bags (the S-S bags are better) and so will use this review only to highlight the one relative drawback of the S-S bags: the needless use of plastic packaging.Exped used far less packaging and it was made of cardboard. It matters not that the S-S packaging is recycl-ABLE - it is unneccessary in the first place.
There was one slight drawback shared by both bag makes - the fabric flaps (Exped) and fabric cap (S-S) attaching to the compression straps were a little meanly cut, so that under full compression the bag material tended to bulge out from underneath them.Had they been cut 1cm more generously, the cap would have better covered the contents.
Overall this is a good execution of an excellent idea and is very worthwhile for soft compressible materials.
Haven't yet tested these bags for waterproofness but they seem sturdy and well made without being heavy and bulky. My only complaint is they are rather larger than the published measurements. The medium was just barely small enough for a 3 season down sleeping bag (and about the right size for a 4 season bag). The x large was far too big for my clothes so will be staying home :(
Very happy with Facewest service.
Facewest Note: We've checked the measurements of these dry bags and they are correct - the actual height is a little larger to take into account the roll top.
Brilliant dry sacks, been using an X large one for years, bought Small for my down sleeping bag. Compression is superb, squashing the bag extremely well and with the added waterproofing puts the old mind at ease.
Excellent dry bags and very quick delivery
Great product, which I bought to stuff my sleeping bag in and keep nice and dry whilst attached to my backpack. Not used it yet, but will be testing it out this weekend. :)
I always use this compression bag to protect, and keep my down sleeping bag dry. There are several things why I like this bag so much and purchased an extra one. The materials used are strong and offer good protection for fragile gear. It prevents water getting in and the air gets out smooth making compression very easy. I never have to worry about my sleeping bag getting damaged or wet. The only drawback might be the weight of the bag. I use the small size for a 2 season sleeping bag. It's possible to squeeze in a 3 season sleeping (450gr down) in a small, but I find it a really tight fit and a bit difficult so I use a medium size. And after 3 trips it still looks like new. Overall, great protecting and keeps things dry but a bit heavy.
I wanted something for backpacking to store my clothes in, which would keep them dry, but also compress down well to remove bulk in my pack. This did the job perfectly. At first the bag didn't appear to look particularly durable, however I was pleasantly surprised after filling it and compressing it down to around 1/3 of its original size, how strong it was and how well the compression system work. The vent allows the air to be forced out whilst remaining a water tight seal.
This is a must for anyone needing to keep kit dry, whilst also keep bulk down and their gear compact.
Plus points: Great compression, watertight seal, strong and durable, extremely useful.
Minus points: Can be difficult to pull the lid over the pack when full in order to compress.
