The Petzl Tour harness is a lightweight mountaineering and ski harness designed to be easy to take on and off as well as being light and packable without a compromise on durability. The Tour has 4 integrated gear loops - note these are literally loops of fabric, you certainly couldn't get more than a couple of carabiners on each one. The leg loops can be unbuckled allowing the harness to be donned with skis or crampons on and each loop has a keeper with siliconised interior to secure an ice screw so it's not flapping around off a gear loop. It has also been colour coded so you can instantly recognise the inside and outside on all straps - a great idea to make putting a harness on in bad weather just a bit easier.

After many years of making do with a conventional climbing harness for mountaineering, I finally bite the bullet and purchased a Petzl Tour. I've used it mainly for scrambling and winter mountaineering, and also a multi day ski tour. The most impressive things about the harness is it's low weight and small pack size. It is also surprisingly comfortable and appears to be shown no signs of wear. This is a contrast to other lightweight harness I've seen, which have worn very quickly. The only downsides are the unusual vertical gear loops, which take a little getting used to. I would prefer two conventional gear loops, but I can still manage to fit a scrambling rack on without issue. The Petzl Tour is great value too.

Customer Reviews of Petzl Tour Harness (Winter 19)
A very simple, lightweight and comfortable ski touring harness.I wore mine all day, every day for a recent 5-day tour in Austria and really didn't notice I had it on when skinning or when skiing.Being able to fit it without taking off your skis is a big plus, as are the ice screw retainer straps. When packed in its pouch it takes up very little rucksack room or weight.
