The Montane Punk Balaclava is a brilliant combination of fabrics that have produced a technical and versatile balaclava. It is an ideal choice for wearing under a hood or a helmet when climbing in tough Alpine and Scottish conditions.
The Punk is constructed from Dryactiv Stretch fleece which provides a snug fit, superb warmth to weight ratio and is highly breathable. The Pertex Quantum mini rip-stop overlay is positioned in critical areas and has very high levels of wind resistance, providing your delicate facial skin with excellent protection. Flatlocked sewn seams throughout the balaclava ensure wearing comfort against the face and neck areas. A small peak with a clear view visor slit provides protection for your vision. In the area that covers the nose, an open base allows you to breath without any restriction whilst a perforated mesh fabric around the mouth prevents moisture to build up.

Customer Reviews of Montane Punk Balaclava (Winter 19)
Working towards my winter mountain leader, I needed to improve my winter clothes and this was a great start.
It is comfortable and warm considering how lightweight it is.It is ok to breath through and goggles only mist up a limited amount. Can easily be worn under a helmet.
Superb bit of kit. For the weight this is absolutely awesome. Lovely and warm, when needed. Quality is great. The different materials work surprisingly well together. No wind penetrates the ear/side area, which can cause significant discomfort, and the rest breathes well and keeps you toasty warm. The mouth piece, as mentioned above, does an excellent job of releasing the moisture from your breath and my goggles never steam up. Absolutely essential and very welcome for the Scottish winter. Very happy.
Working on a windswept island in Greece and this balaclava is a very good choice for the winter months
This is a great product when the conditions are really poor and you need to cover up every bit of skin (when worn with ski goggles). The fabric in front of your mouth is really easy to breath through so the chances of misting up your goggles/glacier specs is reduced. The insulation is located just where you need it as long as you're wearing it under a hood (which you will be if you need this much protection). It sits in my winter rucsac ready to use on those occasional days when all hell breaks loose on the Cairngorm plateau/Hardangervidda or similar where you're stuck walking/climbing or skiing for hours to get to lower ground.
