    Full Description

The Exped Mini Pump is an ultra compact pump for inflating all Exped mats which don't have an internal pump. It is basically a tiny self inflating balloon with a valve adapter on the end. By repeatedly compressing the balloon your mat can be inflated quickly and easily. This is essential for the Exped Downmats inflated using lungpower, moisture from your breath can bult up in the mat and degrade the filling.

This is a handy little foot-pump which I've used on an Exped SynMat but it could be compatible with other makes too. Although carrying a foot-pump whilst trekking might seem like an unnecessary luxury, apparently water vapour introduced by mouth-inflating can damage the material and reduce the life of the product, so I figured it would be safest to use the pump! It's a great little pump and inflates a standard sized mattress pretty quickly. It's small and light. It requires a certain technique which takes a little while to master - you need to be quite forceful with it, but you soon get the hang of how it's done!

I recently purchased an Exped hand pump to inflate my Synmat 7. It was a very worthwhile purchase that I would definately recommend. In my case it saved mehaving to manually inflate the Synmat which in doing so did make me slightly light headed. . . It takes around 1. 5 mins to inflate by hand, or foot, and works extremely well. I have just had a two week cycle camping holiday in France and the pump iscertainlya piece of kit that helped our evenings along to set up camp with very little effort. A very lightweight little piece of kit, that takes up no room in your pannier, or pocket. It is made of sturdy material, and the valve attaches and detaches without any problem or any loss of air. An ingenious invention. Thank you.

Unless you are an ultra light traveler this is a very welcome companion to the Exped mats (I have the synmat lite 5). It is not spectacular - it is just a pump after all - but it does exactly what it says on the tin. I doubt it will be any use doubling up as a pillow unlike other heavier pumps.

I've been using a Synmath with an integrated pump and now I purchased an UL 5 version, but after blowing up the mat I was feeling very lightheaded. The best solution would be this very compact and light pump if you don't have other Exped products to use as a pump. The pump works the same as the integrated ones, covering the valve with your hand and pump. According to Exped it's also better for the mat to use a pump instead of your breath. The only negative to say is that it takes longer then blowing, but you can't expect much more from such a small pump. The material of the pump is also strong. It's worth the extra weight when you look at the advantages.

Second Mini Pump I've had, the first for a Downmat (to prevent breath contamination of the down) and this one for a Synmat LW. The size of the Synmat and placement of the inflation valve at one end makes blowing it up by mouth in a solo tent a little tricky. The Mini Pump requires much less body contortion / yoga skills than blowing up by mouth. Weight is only 40 odd grams, and you can reduce it a little by leaving the stuffsack at home and pushing the pump inside your mat stuffsack. Takes me less than 2 minutes to fully inflate a 9cm x 197cm x 65cm mat, but if you give it more effort you could be even quicker than that. A better solution than the slightly awkward to use Exped Schnozzle Bag, and only surpassed by a built-in pump as featured on some Exped mats. However, these come with a considerable weight penalty versus the Mini Pump. Great, simple product and as always on the doorstep within days thanks to Facewest.

Not quite good enough for 5 stars as only seems to work well once warmed up. Took a while to become usable once out of it small bag. However it did the job it required to do. Cheap alternative to the large bag type inflator.

I bought the Exped Mini Pump to use with my Exped Synmat UL7 and have been very happy with it. I had a choice of products to buy to inflate the mat and I chose the Mini Pump over the Pump Bag or Pillow Pump as it was the cheapest option and seemed like it would be the best option for using in a confined space such as a tent. Upon receiving it, I gave it the recommended 24hrs out of it's stuff sack to re-inflate the foam and it will now inflate the Synmat UL7 MW in under 1 minute. Overall I'm pleased with it, if you are thinking of purchasing a pump then consider the Mini Pump, it is easy to use, packs up small, is lightweight at 45g and half the price of the other options. It's main selling point though is that it should drastically extend the lifespan of your Exped mat (Over inflating by mouth), which lets face it, aren't cheap to replace.

I bought this to inflate my exped synmat mw. Its good points are that it packs up very small and is light but it does take about 3 minutes to inflate the mat which is longer than I had expected. If you want to inflate your mat quickly this is probably not for you. But on the other hand if you are camping you will probably have lots of time to spare. Have only used it the once but the materials seem good and its looks like it will be quite durable. You can also squeeze it into the mat carry bag at a pinch.

This product was bought to help inflate my exped down mat. However the valve on my mat is one of the older ones (2006 or 2007 ish) and sadly this mini pump does not fit. It was designed and works for mattresses post 2010. That being said I have discovered that I can use it to inflate my thermarest Neoair (2017) so it was not a total failure for me. It does what is is meant to do which means I can dispense with the stuffsack inflate routine which I find cumbersome when using a bivi. Now I just need to find a solution for my older exped down mattress.
