The Exped Pillow Pump not only provides you with a great night's sleep it ensures you can inflate your Synmat quickly and efficiently. This is ideal for the backpacker or adventurer who would prefer a good night's sleep, though the cost is a few extra grams to carry.
The Pillow pump is really easy to use. Turn it over and attach to your bed, open the valve and pump using your hands while covering the hole so the air is pushed into the bed. When your bed is inflated the pillow can be attached to the bed using the two loops, making a comfortable pillow so you can get the rest you deserve.
The Pillow Pump works with Exped mats that do not have integrated pumps, 2010 production year and later.

Customer Reviews of Exped Pillow Pump
I was disappointed with the Exped Pillow Pump. It is slow to inflate the mat, I was hoping it would be a quicker alternative to the pump bag, but it takes a lot longer. I also find that the pillow is also too small, but this is my personal preference as I slew on my side, if you sleep on your back it might suit, but I found that it didn't lift my head into a comfortable sleeping position.
It's a clever idea to combine the pump and pillow but I think I'd still end up taking the pump bag and a pillow with me when camping as it doesn't really offer a better alternative in either case. My lad might get along better with the pillow as he's smaller.
Really good pillow, really good pump. Used with a Thermarest NeoAir AirTap it will blow up mats with old-fashioned screw-in valves - Thermarest, Big Agnes & etc; with an Exped Flatvalve Adapter it will blow up Exped mats with large valves/integrated pumps; as-is will blow up Exped single-valve mats.
Don't yet know if any of these adapters will work with the Sea to Summit pads. Much better pump that either an Exped built-in pump, or any of the 'schnozzle'-type bags I've used. Light, small when rolled up, decent quality & a good medium-dense pillow that suits a picky side-sleeper.
Only whinge is that it doesn't seem to come with a repair kit - fairly sure I recall seeing one supplied with earlier models. Came with the usual fast Facewest service.
Great little pump/pillow- but as it tends to move from under your head during the night, may be best to wrap some clothing around it to stop it slipping on the mat. A friend suggested a piece of non-slip material (similar to that used for preventing rugs from slipping) which would not add any weight but haven't tried this yet.
Great pillow works well with my mattress as a pump. Just what the doctor ordered does its job as a pump and is a comfortable pillow.
Recently bought two exped mats. As we will probably end up with four we preferred to go for a separate pump than carry four integrated pumps. Glad I did.
Great little pump when you get the hang of it. The technique, I think, is to pump down so your hand covers the hole and then fully lift your hand away so the air can get back in. Using this approach we managed to pump all our mats up in minutes.
Having the pillow is also a big bonus. Packs down nice and small but is a comfortable pillow when tucked into the hood of a sleeping bag to keep it in place.
Nothing not to like about it but not quite 5 stars. Would a schnoozle bag pump and down pillow combinations be a better option? Better pumping and more comfortable pillow. Certainly a lot more expensive so think we made the right choice for the money.
I bought this Exped Pillow Pump together with SynMat UL7. because I didn't want to blow the mat to avoid condensation inside the mat.
It is very light and very packable little pump and quite comfortable pillow. It takes about 2 minutes to pump the mat hard.
The only advice I have for user is to keep it unfolded at home or give it a time before pumping. I didn't and it took some time for the foam inside pump to get back to its full shape.
