Description
The Edelrid Kestrel Pro Dry is a robust half rope with a water resistant coating and thick sheath which makes up 50% of the diameter of the rope. The combination of sheath and core water resistant coating, durable sheath and 8.5mm diameter make the Kestrel Pro Dry the ideal rope for the most demanding test of any gear, Scottish Winter climbing. Its also durable enough for Guide use all year round. The Kestrel Pro Dry features Edelrid's Thermo Shield treatment which balances the ropes sheath and core. This results in an improved glide and handling and maintains the ropes suppleness for the duration of its lifetime. The Kestrel is also lap coiled for tangle free use straight out of the bag.
Edelrid's Pro Dry coating is a sheath and core treatment which prevents the rope from absorbing almost any water, it also protects from dirt, heat and abrasion. This coating ensures the rope will not freeze when used for winter and ice climbing. Pro Dry treated ropes only absorb water up to 2% of their weight so don not get really heavy when wet. It also has an added benefit of vastly improving the ropes durability. The Kestrel Pro Dry comes lap coiled so it can be used straight away without tangles.
Edelrid ropes are made in Germany and Bluesign approved so their ropes have a smaller carbon footprint than many of their competitors. They also use far less water in production and fewer chemicals.
