The Rab Hot Socks keep your feet happy after hard mountain days and are perfect lightweight insulated socks for use in cold and wet environments making them ideal for use in huts, whilst camping or bivving or whilst your van dwelling.
The socks are insulated with Primaloft Silver around the foot. This microfibre insulation is exceptionally warm, soft and lightweight when wet or dry, it keeps your feet warm and dry and benefits from also being incredibly lightweight and packable. The ultra-fine fibers form tiny air pockets that mimic the compressibility of goose down, trap body heat and are breathable, allowing moisture vapor to be transported through the fibers and away from the skin.
The windproof and lightweight Pertex Quantum outer benefits from being DWR treated and ensures that your feet stay dry and protected from the elements. Stretch fleece ankles keep warmth trapped inside the socks and the soles are reinforced with Cordura footpads. The socks are supplied in their own stuff sack making compressing and packing them simple. The Rab Hot Socks can also be easily worn inside hut clogs.
Please note that these are designed as lightweight hut/camping slippers. They are not robust enough for everyday household use.

Simply not warm enough, hardly any thickness to the insulation, which has no "loft" as you would get from down. The actual product looks nothing like the photos - the socks in the photos have had stuffing shoved into them to make them appear as though there is a thick, insulating layer. But there is not - it's very thin, and not even as warm as a pair of normal Bridgdale woollen walking socks.
Intended for use as a cold winter sleeping back bootie, I unfortunately had to return them as soon as I unpacked them, as they are just not suitable. The Berghaus equivalent (down filled) is muich better, but the largest size (L) was not even big enough for my size 10 feet, so I am probably going to have to buy a specialist product from the US. I cannot et any of the old model Berghaus camp booties, which would have been ideal.
There seems to be a gap in the market between the expedition booties costing around £200 and this level aimed at amateur wild camping enthusiasts - if someone made a large enough, thickly insulated bootie at around £40-£50, they would dominate the market. I hope this helps.
