The Mountain Equipment Super Alpine Gloves are highly dextrous and close fitting making them ideally suited to ice climbing and alpine adventures. The Pontetorto softshell outers benefit from being highly water resistant, windproof and are stretchy for a contoured and comfortable fit. The palms feature Pittards Oiltac Leather which provides an essential grip for handling ropes, axes or poles.
Inside, the Tricot microfleece liners will assist in keeping your hands warm and will equally wick sweat and quick dry for when things start to warm up. To assist with added dexterity the fingers are pre-curved making easy work of handling screws and hardwear. An adjustable cuff closure and being low profile and a little longer in the wrist means that they can be kept secure under your jackets sleeves.

Customer Reviews of Mountain Equipment Super Alpine Glove (Winter 18)
Great gloves for warm-ish weather alpine climbing. They're fairly thin, so very sensitive and agile for placing protection and any other fidly tasks.
The fabric is not waterproof, but does an excellent job protecting from wind and mild snow / rain. Insulation is on the thin side, so they're perfect for warm-ish winter days (around 0) or for summer alpine climbing.
Another piece of Mountain Equipment excellence ! Unlike many other gloves of similar design, the 'Super Alpine' gloves allow you to retain the dexterity and nimbleness when operating the rest of your kit outdoors.Secure fittings, with good grips on the palm, I have been very happy with the performance of these glovesand their ability to dry quickly.
If there any improvements to be made, I'd like to see a clip / loop to connect the gloves together when not being worn just to keep things organized in your rucksack. Otherwise though, a highly recommended piece of kit for the forthcoming winter!
I love these gloves! I am a big fan of the Marmot XT gloves, and they are still good, but these are better. They are warmer than the XT glove, with the same 'grippy' palm, and are very comfortable to wear. I use them for all outdoor purposes, and the good grip they provide are excellent when I am out walking the dog, and also perfect when skiing, and they also work well when I am out with my camera (DSLR) - enabling me to use all the controls without having to take the gloves off.
I have used them down to about -10 degC, at these temperatures you need to be in activity to stay warm, but if you are, they should be warm enough.
The leather in the palm may not (like the XT) be very long lasting, but I guess that is part of the price for 'grippiness'.
I would definitively recommend these gloves, and I am buying new ones when they are worn out.
