The Mountain Equipment Glacier Range offers all-round performance and protection from the elements. These bags are close to the temperature scale of the Extreme Expedition range at half the cost as they are slightly heavier. The Glacier 1000 is ideally suited for high trekking peaks and winter mountaineering.
The Drilite Loft II outer is lightweight, breathable and water resistant protecting the 700+ Pure Duck Down insulation. The construction combines horizontally running trapezoid baffles throughout the top half of the main body with slanted-box wall baffles on the base of the bag. This method strikes a balance between down control, weight and versatility. Expedition fit ensures space for either additional layers to be worn or boots/clothes to be stored inside the bag, this extra space also adds comfort.
For ease of use in extreme conditions, the bag features a single handed Lode Lock closure with quick release. This essentially is two internal captivated magnets. As they automatically pull together and then lock into place, it prevents the bag from accidentally opening during your nights sleep. The Gemini zip baffle system replaces bulky twin draft tubes used traditionally on cold weather bags by the baffle being incorporated in the sidewalls. This new construction is light, low bulk, efficient and protective. In addition, the bag also features an integrated and fully adjustable down filled neck collar. All these features contribute to retaining essential warmth whilst you are sleep.

Customer Reviews of Mountain Equipment Glacier 1000
I've been in the mountains long enough to say the bag is above my expectations: very good in-out (zip doesn't stick), enough space to dry clothes and night things, (yes, it would be good to have an inside pocket, but that's not really a problem for me ), it is possible to turn in various sleeping positions, the insulation is very well inflated and distributed, the inner material is pleasantly silky and does not stick to the skin, moisture drops glide from the outer material like runners .. the only thing I do not understand is how they managed it all in so little money?..:)
