Description
The Mountain Equipment Classic Range is Mountain Equipment's best selling selection of sleeping bags. They offer great value, all-round performance in a roomier, more generous sized design compared to their other ranges. The Classic 1000 is ideally suited for winter camping and general expedition use.
The Helium outer is lightweight and breathable and protects the 700+ Pure Duck Down insulation. Its constructed using slanted Box-Wall baffles throughout the main body, this increases the bags thermal efficency and improves down migration control.
The Gemini zip baffle system replaces the bulky twin draft tubes, which are used traditionally on cold weather bags, by the baffle being incorporated in the sidewalls. This new construction is light, low bulk, efficient and protective. In addition, the bag also features an integrated and fully adjustable down filled neck collar. The Classic 1000 features a single handed Lode Lock closure with quick release, this is essentially two internal captivated magnets which automatically pull together and then lock into place, it prevents the bag from accidentally opening during your nights sleep. All these features contribute to retaining essential warmth whilst you are sleep.

Customer Reviews of Mountain Equipment Classic 1000
I have used the classic 1000 bag in freezing conditions down to minus -4.6 and it has kept me warm wearing just base layers. The quality of the materials used is excellent and i am extremely pleased with the performance of the bag so far. The materials are hard wearing and everything just works well, there is nothing that feels inadequate to any part of the bag no real weak points that i can find . It truly has kept me warm and comfortable on some extremely cold nights up in the mountains. There is just enough room not to feel too enclosed and tight meaning i can move to get into a comfortable sleeping position yet still maintains the mummy style to maximise heat retention without any cold spots. The chords cinch well and provide excellent adjustment options to stop any warmth from escaping and letting the cold into the bag. It packs down well and is fairly lightweight too. Overall this is a brilliant bag and i am extremely pleased that i purchased this for my use, many more years of comfortable good nights sleeps to be had for sure. I Would highly recommend this bag for winter camping. I have featured the use of this bag in a few of my youtube videos, search for 'resident outdoors' if you want to see this bag in use in real life freezing conditions.
