Description
The Mountain Equipment Arete Vest is perfect for insulating the core, lightweight and compressible making it suitable for climbing, alpinism or ski touring. Versatile too as can be utilised within your layering system or worn over the top.
The outer is constructed from a super light Helium fabric which contains the 700 Fill Power Water Resistant Pure Down within stitched through narrow baffles, offering the best warmth to weight ratio. The front YKK moulded zip features a protective insulated baffle. To keep the heat trapped around your core the arm holes are elasticated and the dual tether hem drawcords can be cinched up for maximum heat retention. One of the hand pockets acts as an integrated stuff sack so the vest will stow-away in it and with twin carabiner loops, it will convienently clip to your harness or pack for quick access without stopping.

Customer Reviews of Mountain Equipment Arete Vest (Winter 18)
A nice piece of light down insulation layer to wear under your shell or active insulation during breaks. I even wear it at work over my shirt on cold days. I am 185cm tall with a normal build, so size L was a perfect fit, if wearing a layer of wool or thin fleece underneath.
I have purchased a lot of mountain equipment products over the years and have used their down products both in the UK and abroad, they have really served me well, I bought the Arête Vest for short stops when out in the hills, so far it has been really good, not too bulky as some down jackets can be and also leaving free arm movement if climbing etc.
A very good product from a well established and renowned company.
