Description
The Beal Cobra II is a classic half rope ideal for all types of trad climbing. At 48g/m it's lightweight enough for long days and big missions whilst the 8.6mm diameter gives confidence and easy handling without being super slick. The Unicore technology used by Beal bonds the ropes sheath and core without affecting the suppleness. This means that if the sheath is cut or torn, the core and sheath remain bonded together preventing slippage of the sheath and therefore bulges in the rope.
Beal's Golden Dry coating is a sheath and core treatment which prevents the rope from absorbing almost any water, it also protects from dirt, heat and abrasion. This coating ensures the rope will not freeze when used for winter and ice climbing and it stops it getting really heavy if it gets wet. It also has an added benefit of vastly improving the ropes durability.
