Arcteryx Phasic Evolution Crew SS Review

I chose the Cypress (subtle green) in a small & it's a good, tailored fit (although not overly snug) - Arcteryx class it as a trim fit (so that's 2 on their scale of 1 to 5 with the larger number being defined as the baggier garment).

Facewest's stated weight of 185g is wrong though - mine was smidgen under 100g making it a very practical choice for summer back-packing. Ditto the UPF - the tag on the shirt states 50+ whereas the listing says it's 30! - Facewest note: Thanks Dr G, we had the weight wrong and have now corrected the page. Arc'teryx still advertise the UPF as 30 though the label says 50! Will contact them for some clarity and update.

The flat-locked seams are comfortable & it wicks well whilst the logo isn't overly loud.

TBH, I found it to be very similar both in style & comfort to Arcteryx's Phase SL crew SS (also sold by FW) although the Phase is about 15g lighter. Wearing them, there's little to compare in fit or comfort - I like them both; having a soft, stretchy feel that almost encourages movement.

In fact the only reason I've docked a star is because I don't understand why this shirt is 10 pounds more than the Phase as apart from the colour, they're virtually identical.

    Still recommended though!
