The super lightweight and packable Gore-Tex PACLITE Plus fabric makes them an ideal emergency layer for ski touring and mountaineering, while they are still durable and breathable enough to be worn all day if you are venturing out in poor conditions.
Arcteryx have ulitzed two different denier face fabrics to make the trousers comfortable and durable. The main part of the Beta AR Pant is a tough yet supple 40 denier 2 Layer Gore-Tex PACLITE Plus fabric with heavier 150 denier 2 Layer Gore-Tex PACLITE Plus reinforcement fabric in high wear areas, providing extra durability where its needed. Tough in-step patches provide protection from crampon spikes and edge cuts from skis.
The pants are easily pulled on thanks to the full length Watertight side zips. The fit is regular designed to enhance a greater freedom of movement. Customer Reviews of Arcteryx Beta SL Pant (Winter 20)
Great as always from arc'teryx I'm a 36" wast so L was my choice but as other reviews have said the is no give in the waist size. So if bigger waist size XL is a must.
Had these packed for few days ski touring if weather turned.it rained ,my,back gave out and was a disaster.but pants and jacket stayed dry so situation could of been way worse.made it back though freezing rain and wind with battered ego.But at least I looked smart and avoided hypothermia.
