The Arcteryx Atom LT Vest provides core warmth and can be worn either as a mid or outer layer depending on the conditions and activity. When used as an outerlayer and the weather takes a turn for the worst then a shell jacket over the top will be a perfect, albeit a very warm combination.
The LT Vest uses Coreloft insulation, a lightweight synthetic insulation that is very compressible and light but expands very quickly when unpacked. Coreloft is made up of thicker fibres than other leading insulation brands, which means it will not penetrate the outer Tyono 20 nylon fabric. This is lightweight and benefits from a DWR treatment that provides good water repellency and wind resistance. The lining is made from a lightweight and air permeable dope dyed fabric, which requires far fewer resources than regular dying techniques. The side panels are Performance stretch fleece that provides this vest with exceptional levels of breathability and mobility, but if it gets really cold or you slow down or stop it will be these areas where you will feel the cold first.

Customer Reviews of Arcteryx Atom LT Vest
I concur totally with a previous reviewer (Iain) in that on receipt, this sleeveless vest doesn't appear to have any weight to it and thus warmth... ...and yet, as he found, it's surprisingly warm, windproof and breathable. Most importantly from my perspective and the weather in Northern England, it won't ever ""wet-out! I find Arcteryx fits my bodyshape well in addition to being worth paying their brand premium, which is why I took the risk on this one. No regrets then! I'd probably have preferred the blue version, but black was the only colour left - which - to be fair, goes best with most other clothing. I find most benefit wearing this under my main jacket on cold, windy days. I seldom get too warm in it as I find it breathes nicely and the zip, whilst being the opposite way around to most male clothing, is smooth-running and very useful indeed, to further regulate temperature. It's worth mentioning that it wouldn't be out of place to wear socially, whether over a casual shirt or polo. Finally, I'm a size 38 chest, 30"" waist and 5'7"" tall and the small fits me perfectly."
This is the first Arcteryx product I have bought, and whilst it is not cheap, it is clearly well finished and does look very smart. The fit is not super-tight (sorry, 'technical' fit!), but it is slim and comparable to other brand fits.
The LT vest is very light and packs down to nothing, but it is still very warm and comparable to few older fleece vests without the bulk. It seems to work well over a base or mid-layer, or under a insulating jacket without overheating.
The service from Facewest was also very excellent - i forgot to apply a discount voucher to my order, so i emailed them and within an hour I had a credit returned for the difference!
Nice body warmer really happy with it
Excellent gillet, very warm, wind proof, lightweight, packable, and a very good price!
When you first get this vest out of the bag, you may worry how warm it's going to be. I certainly did. It's a very impressive bit of kit though, and really keeps the warmth in. I've been wearing it as a mid-layer, and it's fit and light weight make it extremely comfortable under my waterproof or soft shell.
When I received the arc'teryx atom Lt. vestmy first impression was what a great piece of kit, but it wasn't until I used the atom that I was really impressed. The fit is spot on ,the weight is nice and light, but it works - It keeps me warm but vented at the same time.I know that this bit of kit will be with me for a lot of years.5 stars.
